  1. For all intents and purposes its the same on both counts. Besides why do you care if a carbine shooter starts at the low ready. YOU ARE NOT SHOOTING AGAINST THEM! There is a whole lot of whining going on for no reason. How someone else shoots in another division does nothing to take away from your division.
  2. You are right the poll that no one really knows about is leaning towards yes. What 100 people responded?
  3. Open limited revolver etc follow the same rules same cof. Rifle will hAve jts own rules aND modified cof. How is that the same?
  4. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense...not. Alienate core USPSA shooters who want to shoot a pistol match without rifles by telling them not to go? These are pistol matches that fall under the pistol rules. Rifles already have their own set of rules and matches. Makes perfect sense because they can still shoot their pistols just like before. What someone else shoots should not have any bearing on their decision unless its just sour grapes. That would be like a revolver shooter saying he is going home because open shooters are allowed to shoot. Hows that the same? Handgun shooting a match with other handguns . Handgun shooting a match with a rifle. To me it makes sense to say if you want to shoot a handgun go to a handgun match. If you want to shoot a rifle go to a rifle match. If you don't like the fact that you can't shoot your rifle at the handgun match stay home.
  5. I have had to send mine back to sport ear twice. Once for reprogramming and once because they fell apart after the first repair.
  6. For 400 bucks its worth buying it and trying it out. If you decide plastic was the way to go you can easily get your 400 back.
  7. I think the dip at the end is bothers me more the the rise at the start.
  8. 8.2 hs 6 with the 124 That put me in the 172 zone
  9. The problem has been pointed out there are only so many matches and so many time slots. It would be like making Revolver or Open have their own matches. Yes-if Revolver and Open were rifles, it would be exactly like that. https://uspsanationals.org/event/2016-revolver-nationals/
  10. Rifle shooters are members of USPSA too. The P stands for "practical", not "pistol". But the matches I shoot at are run by the handgun rule book.
  11. Eric, I have one one the way. When it gets here I am planning on doing a video on it.
  12. So you are saying that when I set up the pistol match I need to set up my stages to accommodate the PCC folks. Say allow them to have their own fault lines so they can get around some of the one handed and wicked hard leans. Like orange fault lines for hand gunners and some other color for the PCC guys. I know being a club president I like to run all divisions. That sounds like a lot of work for my MD's.
  13. AWLAZS I have a question how many people do you see that would shoot PCC as a division in your area? Would there be that many shooters that it would influence the stage design at your club match? I don't expect a there to be much interest in this from any of my serious shooters. I have only heard from one club member interested in shooting this. He said pistol would still be his love but he might give this a try I have seen this at local matches. One match focus on technical skills and hard shot with no shoots and lower round count stages, this match has a strong feel for production and low cap division, the other seems to be wide open targets and fast movement and high round count stages, more in line for open and limited shooters. I agree with you matches are influenced by the person setting the match up. You see stage design influenced by the shooters division their skill what they like to shoot etc. My one person who has expressed interest is an MD. The MD's for each match also shoot the division that suits those matches. And as such the Majority of shooters that attend those matches are heavily focused into those divisions more then other places I notice. I have never seen an MD switch gear to be more competitive because of set up. Most of my MD's are serious competitors and stick with one setup. I honestly do not think influence from PCC will impact a match much unless one of two things happen, either the high amount of shooters start showing up for PCC division or if the creator of the match is heavily influence to create a match challenging those who shoot PCC. I am glad you feel that way but if you are setting up a match you would need to consider the PCC shooters and make sure the stage is safe for them to shoot. I do not see any way around that. Things which are fun to do with a handgun might not be possible with a rifle.
  14. I said it earlier in the thread adding a rifle division the the pistol match will influence stage design. It will change match flow. I have shot stages at level 2 and 3 matches that would be impossible to shoot with a rifle. If you want to grow the shooting sports let it stand on its own two feet.
  15. I thought they did away with the blue tinted lens.
  16. In most states, a PCC is not legal to hunt during "rifle" seasons, largely because it is not a rifle, but a pistol caliber carbine. I would like to see a fact check on this one. You cant use rifle caliber rifles in some states.
  17. Can't you just unbag in the safe area, walk muzzle up to the start position, and wait until told to make ready while everyone is scoring the last shooter? Then after ULSC walk muzzle up to the safe area and bag the rifle while others begin scoring? This is what we've done at the rifle matches I've attended and it seems pretty efficient. IT a 10 min walk from the safe area to the pits.
  18. I cant sent the tool out, but i can change your sights for you. I am in Vt
  19. I don;t think adding divisions the the uspsa pistol matches will grow the shooting sports. Adding new events will. If I have to choose between pistol or rifle I will shoot the pistol. If I can go to a rifle match one weekend and a pistol match the other I would. I have been thinking about idpa so I can shoot more often.
  20. Pat not everyone is at your level I know 100 guys that carry a gun every day and would be hard pressed to go 5 for 5 on a paper target at 25 let alone 50 or steel at that distance. If I wanted to test my skill with a rifle I would want to have the appropriate level of challenge .
