  1. I'm not a pro, but I do have a D200. I like the ergonomics of the Nikon more than the Canon. All the switchesseems to be in the right place for me with the D200. As to which is better, who the hell knows. Canon seems to come out with something new every year especially in the high end stuff. Nikon is a little slower on new products. As for glass, buy the best you can afford. Odds are you will end up with a whole bunch of them. Nikon does have the 18-200 lens with vibration reduction for about $800. It's one of the best lens to have if you only want to carry one lens to do everything. Not the greatest lens in the world, but the best compromise. You are better off buying new flash units. Last thing you want is to have the flash fry the circuits in the camera. Check out http://www.dpreview.com for reviews of both cameras.

  3. You guys see the latest from Zumbo?
  4. I hate losing another hour of sleep. What's f-ed up is not everyone changes like Arizona. And now the US is changing at a different time than everyone else.
  5. Maybe he shot it correctly and everyone else screwed up since he didn't move 30 yards.

My co-worker sent $100 cash to Australia. It made it there despite not having ANY postage on it and it was opened and sealed up when it was received. So go figure.
  7. Mine was boring. With TY on the front, just got match results. With an A, Protein Information Resource. With just the number, IT discussion board at Carnegie Mellon University.

    Bike Pedals

Having worked as a bike mechanic for way too many years. The only thing good about kickstands is when you have to cut the Greenfield kickstands to length. Of course we don't use any cutting tools to do it. Cutting it involves clamping the kickstand in a vice at the proper length. Then see how far you can send the extra piece flying when you hit it with a hammer to snap it off.
  9. Manual scales are measuring mass which won't change regardless of gravity. Though it is near impossible to use in zero gravity. Electronic scales are measuring weight/force which can change depending on gravity which happens to vary a little tiny bit depending on where you are. Send it back and see what they want to do. Dillon has always been good even on out of warranty electrical items.

Uh, you can push the pedal forward to clear the kickstand or just lift the rear wheel and fold the kickstand which will move the pedal.
  11. Oh thanks a lot. I just spent 45 minutes reading Homer quotes instead of working.
  12. Just don't do what Top Gear did on their show 2 weeks ago. "Man love rules", "Hilary for President", "Nascar sucks" are not things you want on the car while driving through the rural south.
  13. The rule only states a 3/4" width object cannot pass between the body and the gun. One can interpret this rule as if you can fit a 3/4" object between the body and the gun, you have an illegal holster. So if you grab a 3/4" dowel and push in on the body, you can make the dowel pass between the body and the holster. The rule also doesn't define where this measurement is taken. An object can easily pass between certain areas of the gun and the body on most people. What if you have a really narrow waist but wide hips?

What happens if the prop breaks off and flies through the cabin? Turbofan engines at least can usually contain the fins when they break. I work for a helicopter parts company and the amount of documentation is ridiculous. Any part that we manufacture must have certifications back to the original company that made it, who also has certifications on what was used to make the product. Even a zip tie has certs identifying the lot is was made under and the batch of raw material. Airplane parts also go through far more inspections along the way than car parts.
  15. You would have to interpret that as without touching the body or gun. If someone wants to be a range nazi, a 3/4" object CAN be made to pass between the gun and the body even if the shooter is using an IWB holster.
  16. I run stock follower and stock spring with Dawson basepads and will hold 20-21. I had one of the original springs fail, but that's after 5 years of use.
  17. Not to mention people look like dorks when they walk around with their Bluetooth headset when not on the phone.
  18. Have you notice, everyone here has multiple presses. I have a SDB to do pistol stuff 9 & 40 only. My 550 is for rifle stuff.
  19. Heat gun or a crack torch works the best when working on small areas. Once it begins to soften, you can form it. If it turns shiny, you are beginning to over shoot the forming temperature. Kydex forming temperature is about 300 degrees F, but can't exceed 400.
  20. I'm more curious if Peter can harness all the power he has absorbed from Sylar?
  21. The french designed it that way. You fire it and then start running away.
  22. Most of them are a bunch of dorks anyways. Every time I stop by the airsoft shop to pick up some supplies, they are busy talking about real guns. Of course it is just talk. I invited them out to the IDPA or IPSC match, none of them have showed up yet.
  23. Just saw this posted on another forum about all time favorite displays of idiocy on the internet. http://forums.audiworld.com/a4/msgs/1567770.phtml Hey guys, please help with my mods gone wrong... Posted by: Powrd1.8T on 2003-03-19 16:27:03 Account #: 53045 Hey guys, I've got a 98 1.8T. I've had a k04 and chip for a while and wanted to get more performance. I was recommended to port and polish the intake and exhaust. We found out they used abrasive material to do it like gritty sand. So I got with my friend that tunes Hondas and we decided to try it ourselves. We got a bag of sandblasting sand and hooked up into the intake and started the car. We had to hold the gas so it would run. He wanted to let the engine suck in the sand through the intake so it would port it out and then push it out the ehxaust so it would port the exhaust manifold. I was worried that it might cause problems but he figured it'd be OK as long as we didn't make boost and it get sucked in the turbo. After running the car and letting it suck in sand we got about half way through a 25 lb bag. The check engine light was on and the engine was bucking and kicking and sounding really weird. We stopped and hooked the car back up normal and took off the sand supply. We tried to start it again and it was really hard. Once started it couldn't idle and kept making weird noises. We took it out and drove it and it started to make scraping and knocking noises. Help! Can anyone tell me what to do! My buddy only does Hondas so he doesn't know much about Audis.
  24. I have a set of racing skate skis if anyone wants to buy them. Used only once. It was my foolish attempt to try biathlon. That skate skiing thing just didn't work for me.
