  1. Harbor Freight does have a slightly larger mill that uses a R8 collet. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/disp...temnumber=44991 This web page has a lot of info on mills and home gunsmithing. http://www.roderuscustom.tzo.com/homedtl.htm

They did the first Sorority Life where I live. Luckily I never ran into them. Though I heard when they showed up at the two bars that most people go to, everyone cleared out of the place as fast as they could.
  3. Maybe complain with the postmaster on how slow they are at getting mail through.
  4. What the hell is wrong with USPS in your area? Occassionally I'll get a movie sent from the east coast and that takes 2-3 days. With normal deliveries, I had one in a batch of 3 that got sent out on the same day take 5 days while the others got to me in 1 day.
  5. We have someone who shows up for 3 gun matches shooting a .45-70 lever action rifle. No need for binoculars to see if he hit the flashers.
  6. That's the slow way of taking that bolt out. Normally if I need to change out the dies along with the shell plate, I pull the dies out first. Then using a ball ended hex wrench going through from the top, you can make complete turns of the hex wrench. You can use the ball end through the side, but it's just at the point where it almost can't engage. Ball ended hex wrenches rule! One complaint I have with Dillon and the SDB is the new spent primer cup. The old one was prone to breaking off or dumping the contents if something hits it. New one is more secure, but now my floor is covered with spent primers not making it into the cup.
  7. I'm the complete opposite. Right now I'm sitting about 30 yards from about 20 or so CNC mills and lathes and about a dozen manual ones. But I have NO ACCESS to any of them for personal use.
  8. Check e-bay for the Bridgeports. The only problem for some of us is most of them are east of the Mississippi. You might find mills really cheap, but getting it shipped to the left coast is outrageous.
  9. Click on Queue tab. Under the At home movies, on the right side is a link for Report shipping problems.
  10. Once you put a large side load on a drill press, the chuck will fly out. Plastic is okay, but not metal. Don't buy the 3 in 1 machines. They will really limit you on what you can do. It's still better to buy separate machines. If you do a search on the net for mini-mill or mini-lathe, there's a ton of info on those. You can often find really good deals on used milling machines locally especially if you have room for a fullsize mill. I've seen Bridgeports J-heads go for as low as $600.
  11. USPS is really inconsistant. If I drop off the DVD at the post office they use, usually it shows up on Netflix system the next morning. The slowest I've seen is 2 days. OMG 2 days to go from the front of the post office to the PO box inside the same post office.
  12. I've been using Netflix for over a year now. It's usually 2 days to send it back and 1 day for them to send it to me. I can shorten the time by dropping it at the post office they use which is an extra 3 minutes if I do it on the way to work. But I normally send them back on Monday and get the new ones Thursday.
  13. How much movement is necessary to be considered DA or safe action? M&P only moves the striker about .015". .015" is not that much movement. My HK P7 moves that much despite the fact you have to cock the gun before you can even fire a round, yet that is single action also.
  14. I broke my striker yesterday in dry firing. Strange thing was when I called S&W, they didn't even ask for a serial number. Guess they aren't tracking the serial numbers of the ones breaking.
  15. Few years ago at the Shot Show, one of the Taser Girls volunteered to get tasered. You should have seen how fast all the guys were running to help her.
  16. Plenty of places to create blogs for free. http://www.livejournal.com http://360.yahoo.com
  17. I think he's refering to the Weigand and Dell thing that popped up a few years ago. It's all explained here: http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/outrage/dell.htm
  18. Fry's Electronics usually has the Akrobins. Try looking for any industrial supply place. They are pretty commonly used in manufacturing. Online: McMaster Carr, Enco, MSC.
  19. You would think that seeing that the job was posted online, someone would actually look up the company webpage to determine what they do before applying for a job. I was surprised she didn't leave earlier because it took her at least 15 minutes to fill out the job applications. I guess she didn't notice all the scale models and pictures of attack helicopters around the office.
  20. This morning we got to watch the fastest interview ever at work. This person came in for an interview and took a total of 3 minutes. The manager got about half way into describing what we did when she got up and said she refuse to work for a company that deals with the military and stormed out of the building. Uh hello, the job description said we are an aircraft parts manufacture dealing with government and civilian contracts. The web page even has a section with pictures listed under DoD contracts. Guess she didn't do her homework when applying for a job. Well at least that was my amusement for today, back to pushing more paperwork around.
  21. Easiest way to tell if something is a scam or not is to look at the link they want you to click. It doesn't show up now in the post, but when you are looking at the original e-mail, moving your mouse over the link will show the actual URL on the status bar. The URL they have will be to some weird site in some random country. If you are suspicious, you can always log in to your account by going to the company's site directly instead of clicking on the link. Once in a while if I'm bored at work and not doing my job, I would click on those links and start typing in random things since it all gets recorded.
  22. Can I get a 3% discount if I pay in cash instead of credit card?
