  1. That's pretty impressive. How do you alter the space-time continum? 1.71" round in a mag tube that measures about 1.2" on the outside.
  2. You can always remove the DOH part if the rules change.
  3. I believe there's only one or two states that require by law that you have to replace your tires with equal ratings or better. Shops that say they have to do it is full of it. There's no point in putting Z rated tires for cars that are electronically limited to 130 mph especially if you never go past 80. Tires can be patched. Any good tire place will pull the tire off and patch it from the inside. If you complain about replacing tires, don't buy Scooby's (Subaru). Since Scooby runs a full time AWD, all 4 tires must be within 1/4" circumference with each other or you risk destroying the differentials.
  4. 147 gr. Berry's plated RN, 1.142 OAL, 3.2 gr.
  5. Another part of the equation is the powder burn rate and the amount used. Using a fast powder in small quantities is softer shooting than using a slower burning powder in larger quantities. I use Titegroup with 147 gr. bullets at the starting charge and that makes 135 pf. On the other hand, I have a load for 124 gr. with W231, but to make 130 pf, it is at max charge. The 147 is much softer shooting.
  6. Always buy 1 size larger in the belt because you'll need the extra length as you put more stuff on. CR Speed belt is a must. I don't like the 773 pouches. Modified 771's work better. 771 leaves the front of the mag open so it is easier to index. I modify mine by round off the top corner so it releases earlier and you don't have a corner to deal with. The 771 also release the mag smoother especially if you don't pull it out straight. Some mag pouches will hang when you do that.
  7. I've used the Dillon one for a long time. Too many drops have made the electronics kind of screwy. Went and got the new Peltor Tactical Sport. I like those a lot better than the Dillon. It has auto shut off which is the greatest feature in the world. It takes 2 AAA to power both sides and no tools required to change them. The electronics works more like the Pro-Ears than the Dillon.
  8. It doesn't hurt our delivery ratings if we build it to the drawing and submit it. We can prove we built it to print. If we sit around waiting for the government to come back and tell us what the correct part should be, we would miss the deadline. Missing the delivery hurts your ratings which lowers you chances of getting other contracts. No contracts = no job. There are no bonuses or profit sharing here. Just sheer utter fustration of knowing that the government is staffed by a bunch of idiots throwing money away.
  9. Most of our contracts are through various Air Force agencies building parts for older aircrafts. We haven't had much luck in terms of getting things done on time if we sit and wait for the PCO to get the information we need. It normally takes at least 3 months before we hear back from the engineering department. Seems like the simpler the request, the longer it takes. It hurts our delivery ratings if we don't make the deadline. So it ends up being a losing battle for us.
  10. Building stuff for the government is so frustrating. I'm sitting here staring at two drawings of mating parts. They have an Engineering Change Order to change the dimensions on one of the parts, but not the other. The problem is, if we build it to what the right way would be(applying logic), the government would reject the part because it wasn't built to print when they start looking at the inspection reports and the numbers don't match the print. So we're going to end up building the part exactly to print even though the print is wrong. When the government gets the part, they will see that the part is made wrong and reject the part. But then our rebuttal is we built it to print and we will show that we built exactly what they asked for. So they have to accept it and pay us for the parts. Now if we asked the government agency for clarification, that can take months to years and we'll end up missing the delivery date and get penalized for it both on this contract and on awarding future contracts. It is just so hard to accept the fact that we have to purposely do something that is wrong. The government is literally throwing away about $22,000 on this contract.
  11. You can always complain to Franco. That's what I did and the updated Versa hanger was the result of my complaint. Too bad he didn't send me a free one.
  12. You can always e-mail the Governator. http://www.govmail.ca.gov/
  13. According to her, she's the excitement in our mundane life.
  14. Maybe they send it out in alphabetical order?
  15. How pathetic. Now she's asking the Governator for a pardon. If you are too dumb to know if you are too drunk to drive and have to ask your publicist, well maybe you need to spend some time in jail to learn how to deal with the real world.
  16. MPro7 works as good as Simple Green. Get some real solvent like Butch's Bore Shine. That'll get the carbon off.
  17. Mac & cheese and toss in a can of chilli.
  18. The right thing to do is to DQ yourself. I've did that myself once on a last stage of a big match. I AD'ed during a reload. I was the only one that saw it, not even the peanut gallery noticed. I've been told by a few people that you should just keep shooting till the RO stops you. But that's just not right.
  19. After seeing the prices for Legos, no wonder my parents only bought one kit for me as a kid. Even as an adult, I have a hard time forking out that much money.
  20. You know, you can hire a taxi driver to deliver it. Saw that on Yahoo news the other day.
  21. Here's another one that cites the other incidents. http://www.onenewsnow.com/2007/04/va_tech_...aised_defea.php
  22. Unless you have exactly the same components, barrel, lot numbers, etc. you are not going to get the same performance from a load book. Most of the time, you can only use the data as a guideline. The only thing you can do is load up a bunch, chrono and check for pressure signs. That's pretty much what most people do because there's simply no data on a lot of the stuff we load. Try finding factory data for long loaded 40's, you can't.
  23. Looking at Hodgdon data, they list two loads with Clays and 200 gr. bullet. A JHP at 157 pf at max load and a LSWC at 177 pf, both max loads are at 4.3 gr. With Berry's plated, my experience have put it closer to what a jacketed bullet will do. If you are not confident with exceeding what the max data for a bullet that isn't the same as what you are using, time to use a different powder.
  24. I stopped looking at gas prices when it first broke $3 a long time ago. Back then I was commuting 150 miles per day, my car takes premium only, and I get crappy gas mileage especially if that right foot is feeling heavy. I was filling up every other day. I drive 80 miles per day now, but I don't even bother to look at the price because regardless of what the price is, I still have to fill up.
  25. It's not the easiest program to use. I try to learn how to use it when I was still in school. Unfortunately the computers that they had was too slow even to set up the basic tutorials. Oh, Fluent runs about $30,000 for one seat.
