  1. I developed this modification over 14 years ago, I did quite a few over the years, but it really didn't take off in the numbers I had hoped. I made the mistake of not patenting before I started selling them. Rich
  2. A good friend that will be missed. Rich
  3. I built this awhile back for a client, Caspian slide and is chambered in 9x25. It was fun to shoot! Rich
  4. That could be a one off or someone reshaped a bigger mag well. It looks like it has been painted not anodized alum. Do you have a picture of the inside funnel area? Rich
  5. This is a picture of a Gram's tungsten mag well 9 ounce weight. Rich
  6. I don't own a cell phone so I need a printed copy to take to the range, kind of hard to pack my home computer into a range bag. I can remember when USPSA use to brag on how much money we had in the bank, are you telling me we are so broke that a rule book can't be printed for every member. Why doesn't someone make an app so you can stay at home and shoot a match with your phone and send in the scores. The electronic age has made people weak in mind and body. Life is hard, so toughen up and live it. Rich
  7. Reliability and accuracy will be unknown until test fired but is most important. Then it will be personal preference; Sights, what do you want to see trigger, pull weight and trigger shoe safety, ambi or single side and beaver tail bump or non bump and hard tail mag well, full profile or open front and material type stainless-alum.- brass-tungsten... grips including: scales and front & back strap mag release Just something to think about. Rich
  8. That can be done by most skilled gunsmiths, but don't expect one to copy someone else's work/style/trademark. Come up with something new in design if you want checkering. Rich
  9. I would be interested in the powder drop. Rich
  10. There are a couple of cross over parts from the 1050 that will work. I was told by Dillon that when the parts are gone there won't be anymore made(this was a long time ago). I've got six machines and a lot of spare parts. Some parts just have to made yourself, luckily these machines don't break parts very often. I enjoy making the parts as needed. I've modified the powder tube so I can use bullet feeders and have another idea to be able to add a bullet feeder without modifying the powder tube. If you don't have the original case feeder you can adapt the current case feeder from the 1050. These are great machines, I love them wish I had a couple more. Rich
  11. I found my notes, a 5.25 slide in .40 weighs 32 oz and a 9mm 29 oz. I took a 9mm slide and fitted a .40 barrel to it to see how it would handle with major and minor. Minor was fine but the major was too harsh even with a 5oz tungsten guide rod and stainless mag well. I tried 150, 165, and 180 grain loads, I didn't have any 200 or 220 grain bullets to test. I did take a .40 slide and took an ounce out of the back of the slide and it felt slightly better but when I took 1/2 oz out of the front it started to feel like the 9mm slide. The .40 slide in 4.5 and 5.25 weight is the same, with an ounce out of the back of the slide both felt good in major. In my opinion the XDm is doable for Limited major but will never be better than a high cap 1911 set up. Just remember once the metal comes off it can't be put back on easily($). Rich
  12. What are you hoping to gain by lightening the slide? Rich
  13. The Caspian tubes are Tanfoglio tubes(Mecgar), with Henning's base pad and Gram's spring and follower are 21 round(.40) mags that meet the 141.25mm length. Have used this mag with all of my Limited Caspian builds. Rich
  14. Does this gun have a bull barrel or a bushing barrel? Hard to tell from the angle. Rich
  15. To get a 170 length mag you have to weld one up using 2 mags. If I'm not mistaken it will hold 15 rounds, I would have to find them and check to be sure. I know I modified the follower to get it to work. At that length the top 3 or 4 rounds want to nose dive, so bullet profile is another key factor for reliability. Rich

The web site is gone. Health issues are preventing me from being able to accept any new work. Rich
  17. I made a few years ago, the major problem is getting a spring that will last. After 5 full compressions the spring would start to fail. I wouldn't put in the last two rounds until I was doing "Load and make ready". It was fun to beat up on the double stack guys. I would only use the 170 length mags if the stage dictated, I mainly used 9, 10, and 12 round mags the most. Rich
  18. Gary, Want do you need done? PM if you want. Rich
  19. One thing to look at on the tube, see if the tube is flat in the catch hole area. I've seen where the tube gets pushed in at the catch hole and doesn't make full contact. Is it the factory mag release in the gun? Is it a factory tube? Is the base pad making contact with the frame when seated? Which follower are you using with the extended base pad? Rich
  20. You might have to tig weld the side of that hood to fit it properly. Rich
  21. Springfield XD .40 is 12 + 1, going to 15 rds makes my guns useless. Same goes for most 45 acp guns. Production isn't a 9mm only division. Rich
  22. Get the Mec-Gar mags for the Witness(Tanfoglio/EAA) they have 10 rounders. You will have to trim the top right corner of the tube down so the mag will seat properly. Caspian HC frames have an internal mag stop built in to prevent over insertion. It is an easy mod. The mags sell for around $25.00 per. Rich
