The Caspian double stack frame is a good choice also and you can get your slide from them in any set up you could want. Rich

Cap and Ball Revo Div, Major only with real Black powder and 3 spare cylinders only. Rich

It can be done with out having to switch out ejectors. The 40 ejector will work on the 45 case, there will be a gap around the ejector with the 45 slide. Rich

Home built CNC Mill - Gonna make a 1911
RIIID replied to StraightUp_OG's topic in General Gunsmithing
Looking for some feed back on a quick change system for an R8 Bridgeport mill. Looking at 12 to 15 collet holders and 2 drill chucks. #1 is Royal looks to be the best to fit the job but, is very expensive #2 is Tormach TTS system, I would have to get a power draw bar. Price is reasonable for what I'm looking at. #3 is Marlin PDQ looks to be bulky #4 is a system from Billet Design, starting price is reasonable but can't get any info on additional collet holders mainly price #5 is the Mach 1 not sold on how it works/longevity There are a few others out there but hard to find info on them. Dillon RL1000 & Super 1050 Comparison
RIIID replied to beeser's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
I've got six of them and always looking for another one. To own one you have to be a little bit of a fabricator because some parts aren't available and you have to be able to make them. Rich -
Setting Up Dillon RL100 - Die Question
RIIID replied to beeser's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
The belling system is one of the better features of the 1000, to by pass it the current powder measure would have to be used. The 1000 powder system is better than the current one. You would be better off buying a 1050 than down grading a 1000. Rich -
How can there be a Nationals for a non existent Division. That's throwing the baby out the window even before giving it a bath. Rich

Need Springfield 1911 GI spec 40 S&W info?
RIIID replied to Aircooled6racer's topic in 1911-style Pistols
Eric, Not a GI or a Mil-Spec, it is probably a Standard model if it is blued. The only way it would be a collector is if it is new in the box. I have several blued .40's in the line up to be customized. They are out there it just takes patience, you got lucky and found one rather quickly. Rich -
SVI Vs Wilson/ Combat VS Les Baer VS Night Hawk 1911 Pistol
RIIID replied to Secretariat's topic in 1911-style Pistols
Out of your choices SV is the only one that doesn't make a production line model. With SV you choose how you want it built. The others have set models and you will have to choose which one fits your needs. There will be little to no wait, SV will be a wait. If you look at STI I would say skip them and go to Springfield they have better choices and a Custom shop. Rich -
2015 USPSA Handgun (Limited/Open) Nationals - Stage Repeats?
RIIID replied to JupiterAdam's topic in USPSA Nationals
Could one say this match was more accuracy based than usual? or This match was deceptive in making people shoot too fast? Rich -
Interesting guns at 2015 Limited Nationals
RIIID replied to andersonj55126's topic in 1911-style Pistols
The frame is Springfields wide body forged frame. It is a para clone that easily uses SVI triggers and mags. The trigger guard is a new piece welded in, Rob likes a squared trigger guard. The grips are just the factory plastic ones sanded down and textured. It looks like an old Kings ambi safety and a S&A mag well. Rich -
What should happen, make L10 a category inside Limited Div. and if CO/OW makes the mark it would be a category inside of Open Div.. No new Div and one pulled into another. Who knows maybe Revo may loose interest some day and go away like Modified did. Modified always ran inside of the Open Nationals back in the day so this could work. Rich

Home built CNC Mill - Gonna make a 1911
RIIID replied to StraightUp_OG's topic in General Gunsmithing
Gunsmithing needs an 07 Manufacturing FFL, ATF changed their definitions a few years ago on this. Rich -
I've got a 10 pack and 8 singles available for the 9mm and 100's of .40 cal. kits. Rich

I'll check the bin, you can also use the .40 kit. Rich

CC has them in rebuild kits, spring, follower, and base pad. Rich

Just don't copy my signature cut exactly. Rich

The manufactures have to request that their guns be placed on the approved list for Production by providing the pertinent info and the same is probably true for carry optics. Rich
-
So you are inferring the stages are a test of pure shooting skills, no wiggle room and no foot races. Sounds like fun to me. Rich

If a gun is listed on the Production Gun list that weighs more than 33 oz it will be illegal no matter what, you can't reduce the weight legally under the Prod. rules. If you want to use a metal frame gun in WO you will have to wait for a manufacture to make a new model that is under weight and get it approved. Rich

IPSC tried what the mags could hold and it became the gun which held the most rounds was the one to use. It was up to the manufactures to make a factory mag that could match or beat the other guys capacity. For the US it was partly do to the time Prod. was created(Crime Bill era) all manufactures could only ship 10 round mags with their guns. With the 10 round limit any caliber would be viable from 9mm to .45acp. If it was left to the standard capacity of factory mags it would be the XDM 9mm 19+1 would be one of the highest capacity. Rich

Do a search and you will find all of this has been discussed numerous times over the years. Production is working and is very popular with the membership, I wish people would quite thinking they can fix it. It is way too late (like 15 years late) to change it, Prod. is what it is live with it and enjoy. Rich
