  1. From my experience, the VibraPrime unit works well with CCI and S&B primers; less so with Winchesters. Those are the only brands that I've used to date. Once I understood that Winny's were not an option, I've been using the S&Bs with fantastic success (i.e. no reoccurring issues) for the last 20K rounds.
  2. I shoot the CZ TS Orange in Limited and really love this design. Provided you feed it the right length (OAL) bullet it does its part and performs 'boringly' (I'm blaming EM for that phrase) reliably. I'm considering moving/switching (in 1-2 years) to Open Division, as age/eyesight is catching up to me. Before I invest the family jewels (first born already spoken for- thanks IRS) in an Open rig, I wanted to try out the 2011 platform to determine if the CZ or 2011 was the best path to Open for me. My question is for those that have transitioned from CZ to 2011 or vice versa, what are your thoughts/suggestion? Anything you would have done differently?
  3. If you're feeling guilty about leaving the Titans in the safe over the winter, I'd be happy to take them out on walks every now and again, so they could again see the light of day.
  4. They (.40s) are in stock at CZC, decent price too, I might add.
  5. You're going to be at a capacity disadvantage shooting .40 in open.
  6. A bit off topic, but I hope it's nothing serious Sarge and hope to work/shoot with you next season
  7. There doesn't appear to be consistency from CZ (from what I can tell) as to what is currently being manufactured. CMs started off with the wider trigger guard and cast checkering from the TS models. When TSOs were introduced they were different from their TS cousins because (among other things) the frames had the thinner trigger guards and different front/back straps. Seems that the CMs followed suit for a bit. Then I start seeing new CMs and TSOs with the older TS design grip and trigger guard, along with the TS 'Blue' which looks to me like a TS with full dust cover. I pay attention to this stuff as I'm currently looking for a used CM with the thin trigger guard and improved checkering on the front/back strap. With lots of people using generic CM photos, I ask for actual photos of the pistol being sold. This has allowed me to see the multitude of variations in the market currently. Now, back to our regularly scheduled program?
  8. Here's a pic of one of the new TSOs. However from what I've read, you aren't guaranteed to get this configuration. I''ve seen new guns with old version grips, safety & mag release and combinations thereof.
  9. All the glasses cams that I used provided very good video quality, no vibrations
  10. For FPV, why not use glasses camera? I used several types for some time. However I find 3P view provides for useful video for improvement of stages.
  11. I used CZC basepads with Grams followers on all of my CZ mags. I also have Springers and much prefer the CZC as I don't like having the setscrew to assemble/disassemble the mags.
  12. The tactical sport (TS) is a great SAO pistol and the basis for the Tactical Sport Orange and Czechmate models that CZ sells for at a premium compared to the TS. Didn't realize that CGW had barrels for the tactical sport models. Be sure you are talking to them about a standard CZ 75 or SP01 barrel. The comment about the trigger surprises me, as TS pistols are known for their out of the box <2#, crisp triggers. It could be that the PO installed a lighter main spring. Anyhow, enjoy the new toy, come back and share your thoughts after you've had some time to shoot it a bit.
  13. I use these flip top containers from Home Depot to store my reloaded ammo. When I go to the range for practice, I just grab one and go. The flip top is pretty secure, never had it open on me in my range bag. Holds 500 or so 9mm and 400'ish .40. At $2 each they are easy on the pocket book too.
  14. What's the overall length of your ammo? It would also help to know how much powder you're using. initial though is that your OAL is too long and/or you really recoil spring and load aren't tused correctly
  15. The differences in the trigger guard impact the insert you need if you're running a DAA racemaster/x holster. I believe earlier generation CMs (possibly TS also) had issues with the barrels, which was resolved by different design in newer versions. All internal parts are the same, as far as I'm aware. I also hear rumor, there's a new design CM (possibly TSO/TS) to be released this year or early next. No firm details regarding differences.
  16. I recently experimented with 200gr bullets, coming from 180's. While I found the 200s to be somewhat 'softer' feeling, at 172-178 PF the slide is slower than the same PF with a 180gr bullet. The 200 also needs a heavier recoil spring to reliably return to battery. With the 11# spring (that I use with 180's) the slide would not always fully return to battery. I replaced the 11 with a 13# spring which solved the issue. I'm still on the fence and need more trigger time to determine which is better for my skill level and style of shooting.
  17. I've been looking to pickup a Czechmate recently. Seems there are 3 different frame styles. 1) TS style trigger guard and checkering 2) TSO style trigger guard and checkering 3) TS style trigger guard and TSO checkering
  18. That's pretty excessive. Something isn't right to be breaking that many slide stops.

    Trigger Pin

Why not proactively replace the trigger pin and return spring with CGW upgraded units. Just a matter of time until one or both break, likely at a most inopportune time.
  20. OP, if you don't like the appearance use a Lee sizing die (not U-die) instead of the Dillon. I have both dies on dedicated toolheads and can easily identify which bullets were loaded with the lee versus the dillon dies. BTW, functionality there isn't a difference in the quality of the finished cartridge.
