rooster
Glocks are oversprung. Unless you shooting +p or +p+ a 17lb is just not needed. You will get less muzzle flip and when your slide returns to battery you will not get muzzle dip. Ejection should be better. Most top shooters run with either a 13 or 11 recoil spring for these reasons.
safeactionjackson
13lb ISMI, everything else is stock. My competition round are about 130pf, so coming down on spring weight allows the gun to cycle reliably.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
sigsauerfan
13 ismi RS, zev comp spring kit and a skeleton striker.....i use FSP only for the matches, but this combo set off WSP primers reliably also.

vnboileau
Is it possible to change the recoil spring on the gen4 Glock, or is it necessary to buy an aftermarket rod?

You need an aftermarket guide rod. You can use a jager gen 4 captured guide rod, or a gen 3 rod but you need a guide rod adaptor ring.

polymerfeelsweirdman
Couple questions: What spring rate for a Glock 20 shooting 40 for limited? Do regular gen 3 guide rods with gen 4 adapters work with the large frame gen 4's or are the diameter and/or length different?
Savagesweat
Run a lighter recoil spring for the G20 as well. I have the same setup and I think I put a 14 pound spring in there.

mreed911
Any idea what the weight/balance difference would create with an MOS + Optic on a Glock 17? Interested in re-springing to 13lb but would love field data on how well this works on a "heavier" slide more weighted at the rear. The FF3 weighs 1.5oz.
