  1. I had issues with bolt bounce and the "click" and had Stoeger send me a new bolt. It's been totally remedied so far. Ran it with a 17 round tube this weekend and it ran good, with one malfunction, but I was shooting from a drop-turner activation box and it could have been me.
  2. Go with MOA. If no other reason than that Thomas is helpful to the point of being counter productive for himself. LOL
  3. Can't speak for the .40's, but I run the 140mm 9mm mags and they have been great so far!
  4. Looks good to me. Your cadence is smooth. You will pick up speed with experience.
  5. This is for 9mm and yes, I want to add frame weight and reduce slide weight. I have a brass magwell, thinking I can tune my spring and load to avoid making the slide more violent. It's for 3 gun, so as long as it knocks over steel and is accurate, it doesn't have to meet any type of minimum power factor.
  6. I am pretty sure it's Wilson, but I don't know that the magwell is out yet.
  7. I'll take one for my Glock if it's affordable and secure.
  8. I agree. I think if that is illegal, then you need to start looking at frames under a microscope to make sure there are no nicks or anything that may give someone an unfair advantage. I can understand the rules, but this is a comfort thing.
  9. I was thinking earlier. Things break. I've only lost a firing pin, but have you guys experienced any match-ending or at least stage-ending breakage? I am thinking things like triggers, optics, etc. Pics are worth bonus points.
  10. Gotcha. Thanks. I was confused by an earlier post.
  11. I am about to make my first batch of lanolin:alcohol lube. This is best for rifle reloading right? I am also about to run my first batch of .223, and stuck cases is my biggest fear, so I want to get it right. It's 12 parts lanolin to 1 part alcohol is what you guys are saying, correct? I thought it was lots of alcohol and little lanolin, so I'm glad I read this.
  12. I tried using a sling once, thinking, "Gee, why has no one thought of this." and half way through the match I was thinking "Gee, this is why no one does this." It just got in the way and slowed me down, and I really didn't notice a huge gain off-hand. I tend to practice off-hand (weak and strong side) stability, breathing, and trigger control more than anything but maybe shotgun loading.
  13. I'm pretty curious about the legality aspect of this. I don't know why it wouldn't be 100% legal.
  14. I doubt he gets called on that. It's literally so little that you could induce that much "wear" on the part against a barrier or something.
  15. Hopefully this hasnt been beat to death, but who has done it? I'm thinking this may be a worthwhile thing for my setup, but I'm not trying to ruin my reliability. Is it an obvious change for the better? Seems like it would be, but I dont have anything to base that off of but the science in my own head, which is yes, less reciprocating mass leads to less "flip" and less forward momentum when the slide is locking forward. And for those who have done it. Is there a formula that you found worked best? Less weight on front, rear, or just a balance of both? I have been adding frame weight. I'm considering an SJC weight or their heavy optics mount next to compliment my brass magwell. Thanks.
  16. After the first match with my P09 I swapped back to the decocker. I just felt like it was so much better to have on the line. The pull wasnt noticeably different after the CGW trigger.
  17. I use an Aimpoint H2 in "Limited" or "Factory". I love having a red dot. The slight disadvantage at long range is more than made up for in short range. We're generally 300 yards or less. If it were more, I would move to Tactical and use my 1-6. Here's a short clip of a few stage of my last match. Shot 3rd overall and first in Limited. As you can see, a good red dot and knowing your zero can do you well in any division.
  18. Yeah. They sent a new spring, but it was obviously bad material or the treatment went wrong.
  19. I have gotten good at that on steel. But i still suck at calling my shots on paper.
  20. I think a lot of the reason people won't come to matches is exactly why I didn't want to initially. Three things. 1. I didn't know what to expect. 2. I didn't want to look stupid. 3. I didn't want to suck. I went after I had finally decided it was for me. Something I wanted to do and couldn't let fear of embarrassment or failure slow me down. I think those are the biggest obstacles.
  21. Got it. Thanks. I asked a friend this morning and he told me the same. Looking forward to my first USPSA. I have quite a few 3 gun matches under my belt, but never heard of that terminology.
  22. Ordering a Uniquetek now. That is awesome. Didn't even know it existed!
