mitommy
I’m thinking of running a 45 degree RDS for hard leans, as opposed to switching to off hand shooting. I currently run Vortex Spitfire 1X as my primary sight. I’m thinking about a Vortex Venom for the off set. What I’m not sure about is what dot size to tun. The options are 2moa or 6 moa. This is mostly for bay stages, inside of 50 yards. Any thoughts on this plan? What size dot do you think would be best? Link to comment
George16
Use a 6moa or just use a green laser. Link to comment
Tampa-XD45
I use the 6 moa Venom on a 45 mount. I pick up the larger dot quicker than a smaller dot. Link to comment
S&W686
I just put on my JP GMR-15 an Cmore RTS2 6 MOA. Going to bring it out to the range this week to see how it works for me. Link to comment
Diver123
Dont waste your money with a gimmick. Practice hard leans, get better, no need for gimmick. Done! Link to comment

I tried it and found doesnt help any in deep-lean barricades. I even found it more cumbersome to use fast. In hpr its used more as transition sights from far/scope to near/45dot targets. 71Commander
I use a laser. Much easier than trying to find a dot while leaning. Link to comment
PractricalUse
I made the switch from a 45 and dot to a laser. I used the laser very, very infrequently, but handy for some starts and some leans. Link to comment
mitommy
I never thought about a laser. Which one is recommended? Link to comment

PractricalUse
Tried dot at 45 degrees. Switched to laser. Laser seems to work better, but that being said, I really don't use it much at all. Generally, I only use it at the start with a full target, or targets, with a close presentation. Link to comment
falconpilot
Tried the laser at the last match..I must be to stupid to run one...had a open target straight ahead on starting..green dot dead center...buzzer goes off, two quick shoots and then I just stand there looking at the holes - wasted couple seconds. Point is for me the dot wondering around on the target is so unusual that it throws me off..I'm sure with pratice I'd get use to it quickly, but combined with the it's useless in bright light, I'm not a fan..putting my red dot back on 45 for hard leans and going from there.. Orlandoech
I run a Sig Romeo3 XL 3MOA as my 45-degree as I had it laying around. I use a JP 45 mount. Link to comment
Orlandoech
I do not run a laser though as I find it useless and purely a gimmick. I only need the 45-degree optic rarely. Link to comment
2011BLDR
I had both laser (CMR-206) and 45 offsets. Used the laser 3 times outside in matches and 10 times for indoor matches use the 45 offsets a lot more. Kept the laser around as it's weight was nothing, up until I changed hand guard profiles and removed the laser for ergonomic reasons. Link to comment
