  1. I came across a good deal on a Magpul drum. I have a mag well so I went with the longer one. I’ve run it a few times. It does give the gun a different feel. I’ve decided that I like the stick mags a lot better. I’ll do some practicing with it and keep it in my gear bag, just in case I run into one of those rare situations that it might be an advantage over the long sticks.
  2. I recently worked a match that had some VERY good shooters. One squad was mostly PCC shooters and they were quite impressive. They had lasers for those hard leans. I saw first hand how well it worked for them. I spoke to one guy and he told me it doesn’t get used a lot but when it does it pays off. He also said he does practice with it. The one they liked / used was from Amazon. They had been running them for a while with no issues. It was a Votatu brand, green laser. It’s under $40, so I picked o e up for my PCC. I got one to mount on top of my handguard. The laser is low enough that it doesn’t interfere with my red dot and I thought being on top, rather than bottom, it would be less likely to affect my grip or resting on anything. I’ve only had it a short time so I can’t tell if it will be a help, but for $40 it’s not a big deal.
  3. I run a Taccom ULW 5.5” barrel I use either Berry’s or Extreme plated bullets, 3.9gr of TiteGroup, 1.110 OAL
  4. I think consistency is the key. I mount my PCC the same as my ARs. Stock in shoulder pocket, nose almost to charging handle, support hand long on handguard.
  5. The ejector also serves as a mag stop. The flaw is thar the set screws, that hold the ejector are just basically a friction hold. Over time my ejector moved up and allowed over inserting a mag. I fixed the problem by determining the proper location and drilling dimples in the side of the ejector for the screws to nest into. I also have a scribe line on the side of the ejector for a quick visual check that the ejector has not moved.
  6. I used the Aero EPC9 in FDE. Those show as available. If you don’t want FDE it would probably worth it to just get Cerakote redone. https://www.aeroprecisionusa.com/epc/9mm-40-sw/upper-receivers
  7. I just read a suggestion to put the inner belt on with the Velcro not securing the belt to itself. That way the inner belt can slide underneath itself. That way the inner belt serves to attach the outer thru the belt loops but not tighten to the person. The ratcheting outer belt makes everything tight to the body. (I hope I explained that clearly). I think I’ll yay that method first.
  8. I decided to go with a Taccom ULW barrel, and change handguard, on my PSA built PCC. I never was able to get the barrel nut off. I was sure I’d crush the upper receiver. Of course PSA said send it back. I found it was easier sell the PSA complete upper and purchased an Aero upper receiver (with LRBHO) to get the configuration I wanted. At that time the Aero upper was only $49. I figured it was pretty much a wash with paying to ship the PSA back.
  9. Another vote for Taccom. I have Tim’s ULW barrel with upper feed ramp installed. So far any ammo that will fit in the Glock magazine has fed just fine.
  10. I bought a 1” strap & aluminum buckle from M2 https://m2inc.biz/
  11. I’m finally getting back into 3-gun and looking at getting my gear squared away. I use a Double Alpha belt and want to add a ratchet setup to be able to tighten & loosen as needed. I plan to just cut my existing belt. My question is how to finish off the end that I cut & keep it from fraying? What have you done & how well has it held up? I also read about cutting the inner belt so that it doesn’t bunch up when the outer is tightened. For those that did that, did you just leave a gap? Any other other recommendations regarding the belt?
  12. I have my double alpha belt set up with tea-loks also. I use TMMS to allow me to easily switch components location or leave them off my belt completely. I use the insert plates on my belt with the locking tabs up. I find that makes moving things around or removing them a lot easier. I did play with different locations on my belt to determine the most versatility for me. the only thing I haven’t got around to doing is adding a ratchet to my belt. It would be nice to be able to keep the belt real tight when competitions and slightly loosen it between stages.
  13. I’ve found that a simple finger stop gives me the most versatility in how I grip My current favorite is Arisaka Finger stop. I use these on my PCC & 3-Gun AR. https://arisakadefense.com/finger-stop-m-lok/
  14. I have a bmiller one for a PSA forged lower from about 4 year ago. I went with a billet lower that needed a different Magwell. When I sold the forged lower, the buyer didn’t want the Magwell. If you’re interested, i’d sell what I have. PM me or email tlewandowski_98@yahoo.com
  15. I have 2 PCCs built on PSA lowers. 1 forged, 1 billet lower , both run Glock mags. The only issue I had was the ejector moving from aggressively inserting mags. The simple fix was to dimple the ejector, where the set screws make contact. I put a scribe line on the ejector for a quick visual of the ejector moving. After that they have been 100% reliable. My uppers have Taccom barrels with the top ramp installed. I’m not sure if that is “needed” but it came with the barrel and I figured it couldn’t hurt.
  16. That looks similar to the design of many cowboy action carts. Except they mostly stay true to the period and make their own out of wood. You might try a search for those.
  17. I have a PSA PX9 Gen 2 lower. The upper I run is Aero EPC9 w/ LRBHO. I also run TacCom ESSB bolt and Taccom adjustable short stroke buffer. The LRBHO works 99% IF I use Glock Gen 3 mags. Other mags are not consistent. I contacted Aero and they confirmed that Gen 3 mags are the best option. some people have suggested bending the part that actuates the LRBHO but I have not even started messing with that. I have an adequate amount of Gen 3 mags.
  18. My ejector does not actually make contact. Different magazines sit in different positions. Generally I think there is about .025 gap. It might be worth getting a non Aero ejector and trying to vary the location a bit. When I did the testing inscribed a line on the side of the ejector for a quick visual of it not moving. FYI I run the Taccom ESSB bolt in my PCC. Once I worked this location out, it runs flawlessly. I hope this gives you some help
  19. I don’t have an EPC lower, but I looked up pictures. My PSA lower takes the same ejector. Notice the ejector also served as a mag stop fir inserting Glock mags. I found that this style ejector (common to many manufacturers) is commonly called a NFA (New Frontier Armory) style. I picked up a couple from Joe Bob Outfitters. I think it was about $15 for 3. basically you install the ejector & confirm magazine stops in right location. Then mark the location of set screws that hold the ejector. Then remove ejector and drill dimples that give the ejector a positive location. Once I did that I had no more ejector issues and no more mag insertion issues that were do to the ejector creeping up from mags being slammed in place. if you search for my thread from a few month ago, you’ll find the issue I was having and suggestions and ultimate solution.
  20. I had similar experience with my Aero EPC. I found that the problem was not the upper but rather the lower’s ejector. That ejector also serves as a mag stop. The ejector is only held in place by 2 set screws that push against the side if the ejector. It’s not a positive location and if you slam the mags in, the ejector can raise over time. I inserted several mags to ensure the optimal location. I scribed a line on the side of the ejector. That gave me a visual if the ejector moved. After running a couple hundred rounds, from various mags, I confirmed flawless function. I then removed the ejector and used a drill bit to dimple a positive location for the set screws. (Of course I installed the set screws with thread locker) I had posted a question on this site and from the responses, this was not an uncommon problem & solution for lowers that use this style ejector mounting system. I haven’t had any further problems. And my LRBHO functions every time (with Gen 3 Glock mags)
  21. I run the ESSB in an Aero EPC9 upper. My PCC uses Glock mags. The LRBHO is reliable with Gen 3 mags only. Other gens are hit or miss. When I contacted Aero they confirmed that Gen 3 are most reliable for their LRBHO.
  22. My PDI pulls at just under 2 pounds. If not fully shouldered it will easily bump fire. It happened to me once, during a match, when I switched shoulders and had my finger ready to fire as I shouldered. Luckily I was on target when it triple tapped. I’ve adjusted my technique anf it hasn’t happened since. But in answer to the original question, I would say 2 pounds is to light (for me).
  23. I run a Timber Creek 45 degree ambi selector. I have not had a burst fire since making the change. I wanted a less than 90 degree throw and I believe Hiperfire suggested this as an alternative to theirs. I also didn’t like the idea of the selector levers being plolymer (as I believe the Hiperfire is) it is available on Optics Planet for about $30
  24. IMHO, Even though you know you have to reload, it’s faster to reload & simply hit the bolt release than to run the charging handle. At least it is for me. Also, that’s the way I run my AR rifle, so operating the gun is the same for the AR style platform & not dependent on PCC vs Rifle.
  25. It’s practically required in the IDPA Classifier and stages that start with downloaded magazines.
