  1. Didnt know until this. i have three slides, all with aftec 9/38sc extractors. 2 sti- run in both super and sc, 1 caspian- runs in sc only. Will run super if i use super aftec in it. I dont know what cal. slides are they. I always thought they were 9s made to super by the gsmith.
  2. I thought super and supercomps have same slide breechface?
  3. I use .556 shellplates in my 550 to sort out supers from scomps.
  4. Arent Supers changeable to Supercomps? And vversa?
  5. I use Dawson tool less basepads. It fits ipsc gage. 27rnd Super, 28 in SC.
  6. Heres how I do it upright or sideways mounted with the pistol held upright. When the screw driver turns clockwise, the POI moves to the direction where my hand holding the screw driver is. So if my hand is on top (or underneath in sideways mount) and i turn the driver clockwise the POI moves up (or down in 90deg mount) towards my hand. And away/opposite when I turn CC. Same with the windage, holding the driver on the right side of the pistol, turning clockwise the POI moves to the right, towards my hand. So it doesnt confuse me whether its upright mounted or 90deg. My reference is always my hand holding the driver. Hth.
  7. In my 550 I filed a bit of the depriming needle tip on one side only to create an eccentric force and push the spent primer a bit to the side to prevent it from sticking on the needle tip and be drawn back to the primer hole. I got this trick from this forum I think.
  8. Agree, IPSC Rules Committee should issue official clarification on this. I compete mostly in ipsc and i only use one reddot in pcc. But think that arbitrary interpretation of rules on pcc sight(s) had the unintended consequence of banning the 45*. For me its a case of Typo vs Logic.
  9. You may try building up a ridge with epoxy and silicon carbide where your support hand can ride on.
  10. Also my thought and in application. But in one of Stoeger’s books he said to grip the gun very firmly only during firing shots. And He emphasized that. Then in one of my recent dryfire sessions in a wide (~90*) transition, i felt my grip loosened or relaxed a bit in between the targets. And I wondered if this was what he meant.
  11. Does the grip loosens a bit between targets?
  12. I had it in a 1301c when box fed sg was not still a fad in Open. I have a vr80 equivalent in Derya mk12 With box fed mag, it also hold the bolt open after the last round. Im thinking instead of ejecting the empty mag and insert a loaded one, if i need just one shot to complete a stage, its a bit faster to just drop one from a matchsaverz into the open port (with the empty mag still in place to hold the fresh shotshell from falling into the magwell), push the bolt release button and shoot.
  13. Anyone tried it? In ipsc open max is 10 in a mag. Much less than in its tubular counter part. So maybe its practical to have?
  14. Not to hijack this thread. With due respect to the op, i just dont want to open another thread. My friends rtsv has similar but a bit different problem. After getting wet in the rain, and dried, the dot appears to ba a large blurred blob. But if i bring it close about 8” from my eye the dot appears ok. If its at arms-distance as in aiming a pistol, it appears a large blurred blob. Its more like a smudge actually. Im astigmatic and i can tell its not my eyes. I know how a dot looks in my astig eyes. Been with dots for more than 10yrs now and this one baffles me.
  15. Do you have a booth in the World Shoot XIX? Or are some vendors selling your optics there?
  16. No batteries no wires to fail, just the ambient light to see dot in a circle reticle.
  17. It does fit if you use the arredondo +2 basepads and oem rear sight paired with Dawson front.
  18. My 3 relatively new Atlas 170mm 9mm is 100% reliable in .38super/comp in both my 2 sti framed open guns. With Dawson tool less +1 basepads (not the snl) and Taran thin followrs and 13coil springs, it loads 27rnds .38s and passes ipsc gauge.
  19. Have you installed the backstrap to hold it in place? If not yet, install the bs and it will press the spring from its bent shape and elongate it and reach the sear leg.
  20. Can admin pls move this to Gun Springs? My mistake to post this here Thank you
  21. Its not specific to this or that springs. As said, I use different brands across my Open 2011s and every one manifested the same anomaly. I was in belief that since these springs are used for very calibrated pull on triggers they are at least consistently predictable on this aspect but Im wrong.
  22. Several times I set my trigger pull to about 2 lbs, a week after its over 5oz more in my trigger gage. Happens in my 2011s with varying brands and age of springs. After one or two resetting or retweaks, it stays put.
  23. I dont do it when in practice but usually do in match runs. It distracts me just enough to lighten my focus and silence mental noise.
