Hi-Power Jack
I use any primers I can mash into the primer hole ...
copecowboy22
I've been running CCI. What I could get at the time. Been working so I haven't changed.
Rob Tompkins
Unless you use a really reduced mainspring a 1911/2011 should work with any primer.
rdinga
I prefer CCI because they feed through my Dillon flawlessly....YMMV
jcc7x7
Set your gun up so it will run any primer Reliability is more important than a "sweet" trigger LOL usually it will only change the trigger ozs. to get full reliability
echotango
I only use Win as the CCI seem to be harder and don't seat as easy. The Win are softer and seat regardless oN my 650. Edited August 3, 2015 by echotango
tcazes
I use cci because for some weird reason wsp sp have this odd tendency to flip and turn sideways and all kinds of funky stuff in my SDB. 10k cci no problem so I stick with them.
snakeye
I use whatever I can find at a good price...none of my guns care they just go bang
cecil
I have used Win, Rem & CCI primers with good success... they all feed thru my Dillon RF100 and the all go BANG
Smitty79
I shoot a DA/SA Production gun with light springs. With my current set up, Winchester are 100%. I get 1 or 2 light strikes per 300 round practice session with CCI. With a 1911/2011, I don't think main spring is quite as important. CCI's are usually cheaper. I'd probably use those. Cowboy1629
I usually use whatever is cheaper and that is usually CCI. No problems in any of my guns.
accu9
No problems with either in my guns but I have been using more CCI's as of late in my open guns. They seem to handle the pressure a little better in 9 major.
TANFARM
Started out with Federals.....had some issues....went to CCI SP......10,000 later very satisfied !!!!.....plus I really like the way they are packaged ....almost a perfect " flip" lol........Federal packaging sucks big time.........my opinion !! cecil
went to Cabela's yesterday... they had Sellier & Bellot SP primers on sale for $19.95/1000... bought 5 .. had a 10% discount coupon .. cost me just under $98.00 for 5 thousand.. hope they all go BANG ! Butterpuc
Witt regards to CCI and Win "LP", I use both in my 1911. In a previous post on here I found that there can be as much as 5PF difference between the 2. That all go bang, but I was quite surprised.
21 shooter
I shoot a few different revolvers, 3 of which are tuned light enough to need Federal primers. I also shoot 1911's, 2011's, and some Glocks. Stocking one kind/brand of primers is far simpler for me. I have also found Federal more reliable than WW. CCI primers would probably be okay for stock revo's or auto's but they are probably the hardest to ignite. I do agree with the earlier comment on Federals packaging. It sucks compared to the others! bfalcon00
Yeah CCI does have some of the best packaging. Kinda fickle of me really but its a big reason I stick with those. That and a dollar or so extra a thousand really doen't make me that much difference and I know they work in everything I got.
v1911
Not that it happens often, but I can stuff a CCI primer in a crimped primer pocket with less chance of crushing it. I found that federal and Winchester buckled under pressure. And cheaper is a big plus.

I'll have to try that sometime.
b1gcountry
Don't. They are still a pain to seat and you are better off sorting them out
Balakay
I will use whatever is available. CCI are said to be harder than the others. I have not had issues with light strikes with my 1911 or 2011. Different story with GLOCK34 and a light striker spring
