hump
I had to heat my BladeTech holster to get my 40 HC to fit. My 9 HC fit without any modifications. After heating it to fit the 40 I just need to tighten the tension screw slighty to fit the 9.
EXCATM76
What magazines work for the 9mm with magwell? STI 126mm or 140mm? or paras with a Dawson base pad? I've read the whole thread, but I am still not sure. Edited November 7, 2015 by EXCATM76

hump
I use the stock springs and followers. I set the lips @.350 and trim the follower to lock back on an empty mag.

Time to order some mags. USMC1049, I may give those a try if the paras don't work well in my gun. Thanks.
gunfighteruk
Iv had no luck with the Mecgar p18 (para) mags - rounds keep nose diving (9mm ). It's a 2015 (51679) made gun but without the new ramped barrel. Open up the feed lips as suggested but only first few rounds shoot/feed. Tried a friends old STI brand mag for a Para ( with insert) & ran like a champ - whish I could find more of these but they are real old. Guess it's Mbx mags next . I thought I read somewhere on this forum that Armscor will cut the frame for a ramped barrel under warranty. I don't know if it includes the ramped barrel. hump
I talked to Armscor and was told that they would install a ramped barrel under warranty. My non ramped gun took some tuning but it currently runs great.
gunfighteruk
Hump would you mind tell us what you went through to make yours run ? Thanks a lot.
hump
I read this article and called the shop mentioned in story and modified my gun and magazines myself. It took some patience but it runs reliably now. http://www.thetacticalbay.com/product-reviews/2014/11/17/rock-island-armory-tactical-2011-hi-cap-9mm-overviewinitial-impressions
FunkyTownAggie
I got one of the newer 9mm tactical hi cap with the ramped barrels. No failure to feed at all using my reloads. Am I understanding that there is no way to buy the same mags that came with this gun? Has anyone changed out the ignition kit on one of these? I'm tempted to put a egw or extreme engineering kit and tune it to a 2.5 lb pull.
usmc1094
You can buy them. https://advancedtactical.com/products/magazines/9mm/Rock-Island-Armory-Full-Size-1911-Magazine-High-Cap-16-rnd-9mm-38-Super They are out of stock. Or you can buy the base pads and p18 mags. https://advancedtactical.com/products/accessories/magazine-base-pad-a2-double-stack-mags http://gregcotellc.com/cart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=124&products_id=
Bud White
I got the basepads from mags one my 40 they will not fit with out grinding on them and still don't go up in magwell good enough .. they are also plastic not steel like the mag that comes with the gun Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
usmc1094
Didn't know they were plastic. I figured they would be oem coming from the place that sells RIA parts.

gunfighteruk
Is any one running MBX mags (9mm) in NON ramped barrel ??
hump
Forgetting to tighten the set screw on the factory magazine base pad is not a good thing. I blew a match due to this. When I shoved the mag into the gun the basepad slid off and dropped the spring and bullets on the ground. I now have Dawson pads on all my mags.
