  1. I bell the mouth .390 for coated bullets and crimp .378. No issues and loaded thousands. I've crimped coated bullets down to .375 and never scrapped the coating, the only time the coating/lead scraped was from not belling the mouth enough which drastically affected accuracy. Do a search for my name and look at the latest spread sheet I uploaded. You will see that when I first loaded DG bullets I had over 4" groups, after belling more same load shot under 2 inches with a best of 1.36"
  2. I watched a few of his video's and change my grip to squeeze more with my support hand and it helped tremendously. I used to pull shots to the left and right and now after a few drills I'm no longer pulling and groups are tighter. Most of the matches I shoot now are local practical pistol that has PAR time stages so accuracy is important.
  3. Accu-Shadow for Production, TSO with SRO, and P320 X5 Legion with 507C for local PPC, Ed Brown M&P and Sig P365 for carry. In winter I carry M&P shield .45.
  4. Both DG Bullets, and Brazos Bullets were great and shipping was pretty quick. I'd definitely bye from them again. Just make sure you bell the case more, I bell to .390" and accuracy improved tremendously.
  5. Don't use a factory crimp die with coated bullets, it will swage the bullet down and cause accuracy issues. Use standard taper crimp die, set crimp at .378-.379. I bell my case to .390 to ensure I don't scrape the coating off or shave lead. Found that out the hard way when testing some DG bullets, The Bayou's did fine belled .385 but now I stick with .390 for everything.
  6. Autocomp never worked well for me in 38 super, got great results with it for 9 major though. For super I used 7635, 4756, and N105. Zero JHP 121 7625 8.00 Win WSP 1.235 1408 53 12 170.4 1.73" 25 YD Bench 4-5 shot gp
  7. 6.0 gr of Power Pistol with 124 JHP gave me best accuracy, but I can load it down to 5.4 grains and get just as good accuracy without all the recoil. 6.0 was 1143 fps and 5.4 was 1085 fps.
  8. I've used Bayou Hi-Tek coated bullets since the beginning and never had any leading issue. If you have leading issue it's because you didn't bell the case enough and scrapped the coating off when seating the bullets. Bullet have been shot out of rifle at 1750 FPS with no issues. If you looking for a similar load to Syntech, just use a coated bullet with a clean burning powder like AA#2, N330/340, Sport Pistol, or CFE. 3.8gr of Sport Pistol @ 1.130" will give you approx 1025-1050 fps. Group size in my TSO was 2.07" at 25 yards for 5 shot avg, 10 shots 2.34"
  9. Make sure the brass is fully sized, flare the case mouth .390 for coated bullets and crimp .378. This is what I do to my Hi-Tek coated bullets to ensure the coating isn't scraping off effecting accuracy, and will case gauge. I use the Shock Bottle gauges like you. Don't believe all the bs about just remove the flare, crimping .378 will not effect the accuracy, and better for headspacing. I've crimped coated bullet down to .376 with no adverse effects. The main thing that effected accuracy was opening the case up enough to allow the bullet to be seated without scrapping lead or the coating. Some people say not to flare so much because it will effect brass life, well for 9mm that hasn't seem to happen to me yet and I been loading for 50 years. I've tested more coated bullets than the majority of folks on this forum. Darrell's Load Data rev 122820.xlsx
  10. Jacketed bullets and powders like Accurate #2, N320, Sport Pistol, and WSF is your best shot at reducing smoke and flash.
  11. I use Bullseye for my wife's 380. 3.1 gr with a 95gr JHP. .940" OAL
  12. I started shooting bowling pins with a 1911, move to 38 super, then when local matches became USPSA I shot my .45 with a comp. Over the years I eventually landed in Production. I tried Glock, M&P, XD, and eventually settled on CZ75 SP01 which got me to the nationals. I haven't shot a USPSA match in 3 years and only shoot local matches I sold all my open guns and since I carry a gun with an optic I started shooting local matches with an optic on a CZ TSO. I bought a P320 Legion and mounted an SRO and that got me thinking about getting back to shooting USPSA matches in CO division. I miss the comradery and my aging eyes need an optic so this may work out great for me. I find that I can shoot with my regular glasses in CO whereas I would need my prescription shooting glasses to shoot with iron sights and that has limitations when running and focusing.
  13. Numbers look good, how's the accuracy? Low SD doesn't equate to best accuracy depending on powder. N320 is know for good consistent ES and SD numbers. I've had powders the had Higher ES and SD that shot more accurately than N320. It's all about your gun and your load though, do what is best for you.
  14. JHP's are more accurate than FMJ's in my testing. Someone mentioned that HP's loaded with the same powder charge was faster. That's probable because the bullet is seated deeper in the case raising pressure. I load PD 124 JHP's at 1.080 where as PD loads there Pro ammo at 1.100. I find every bullet has a sweet spot, doesn't matter whether JHP's or FMJ's when it comes to optimum OAL. Get out and do some testing and see for yourselves.
  15. put a bevel on the end of the decapping pin, then polish the pin with a dremel. Worked for me.
  16. Prima V didn't work well for me, Ba 9 1\2 did much better for me and was closer in weight and velocity to N320 for my loads.
  17. I found a good accurate load for DG 125 conical today. 3.8 and 4.0 of N320 at 1.125" and .379 crimp shot great 10 shot 15 yds 2.01 and 1.31" PF 129 and 134. I'm gonna load the other 3300 with 3.9 gr of N320.
  18. I added some test with DG Bullets 125 CN BB, Did not like HP-38 loads. Also when I pulled the bullet I noticed the coating came off and had a distinct crimp mark through the coating. I had the crimp set at .379" and bell was .383", my normal settings. After wasting 90 bullets I retested with N320 and expanded the neck to .390". I tried .379" and .380" crimps and the SD and accuracy was better with the .379 crimp. I didn't pull the bullets on this set, but the test with HP-38 the groups on every load was all over the paper like a shotgun pattern. I thought my gun wasn't settled in the Ransom Rest or something but when I tested my match loads they grouped normal (1.25"). I've crimped Bayou Bullets down to .377" and Bell .383" for years and never had an issue. If anyone has any other ideas please chime in. UPDATE: I added N320 data for DG Bullets today. 19. Ordered DG bullets Monday, came in this morning (Friday) 125 gr Conical.
  20. I ordered DGbullets 125 conical Monday, shipped today.
  21. "crimped even at .356". Should read .376, wouldn't let me edit the typo
  22. I just bought the Ed Brown Fueled M&P 9mm. Yes it was expensive ($2K) but after putting my optic on and putting a couple of hundred rounds down the barrel, this is now my favorite carry gun. Tested 115-160 gr. bullets and all shot great. My 160 gr revolver load but all ten shots in 1 ragged hole at 15 yds benched, and 115 gr reloads shot a 10 shot group in 1.23" at 25 yds from my ransom rest. I love this gun.
  23. NOYLJ, I don't understand what you are talking about. There is no guns sheet, what I meant was if you if you open it up in excel, you click on each tab like DW PM9 or EAA limited etc and you see what I tested in that gun. The sheet you have displaying is just a notes for myself and what factory ammo OAL and Crimp is along with the bullet diameter and length of the bullet itself to compare volume in case at that seating depth. I could have remove that sheet for people who don't understand. If you still having issues opening it then PM an email address and I'll send you the xlsx. file. I put this out to help people with a starting point so as not to waste money on powder and bullets on loads that don't work worth a darn. You can sort by any column if you looking for something in particular like most accurate load in that gun. Some of the test were done before I had a Ransom rest, or benched if I didn't have inserts for that gun. It is a work in progress.
