  1. This NROI tips video/post shows you how it’s measured.
  2. I expected this but it still hits hard. I admire how much strength and resolve he showed in this battle. And he was an all around great guy.
  3. Wow. As someone who ROs a lot, and often with shooters across the whole gamut, this makes me think long and hard about positioning and things outside my control. I’ll be covering this in my intro to competition classes now. There’s some safety things the rules don’t cover. Gonna spend time on those.
  4. I have two rules: 1- go to the line with all the mag pouches full 2- a mag never goes on the belt unless it’s full (except my Barney mag, which is a shorty too)
  5. Admittedly not the full set but I picked up their sizing and crimp dies. Results weren’t what I was hoping for, especially the crimp die. Ended up going back to my old setup.
  6. Weird. I’ve dropped my Max a few times including one where the gun skidded across rocks and dirt and sand for 10 feet. I’ve got a scratched housing but kept zero and no cracks.
  7. because that is specifically and explicitly allowed in the rules therefore that is part of the equipment rules that apply during the COF
  8. so I don’t have a GX, but got what looks to be an identical lock lever and added it to my RHT holsters. It does a pretty good job. But I would treat it more as a safety device for when you’re NOT on the clock. Disengaging and drawing is kludgy when you have a timer going. And you probably aren’t gonna draw successfully with it engaged also for what it’s worth, I also tried a cheap bike seat clamp and had similar results.
  9. I have been shooting it since right after it came out, so 2 full seasons. I’ve tried a number of dots and here’s my assessment. Holosun 507C: good optic, window size fairly small. I found the circle dot reticle a little distracting so ended up running it on dot only, and I prefer bigger dot size so ended up moving away from it. Reliability and durability was flawless. DPP: reliability nightmare. Glass super clear and decent size. Not a fan of the controls. I hear they’ve made some design updates to fix some of the issues but I could never trust one again. SRO: I never had any reliability issues, definitely a top 2 optic right now. Glass has a bit of a tint to it, not as bad as the RMR but noticeable vs. say the DPP. Glass also gives a bit of distortion. Dot is reasonably crisp on the 5moa model, less satisfied with it on the 2.5. Some ghosting of the dot shooting into the sun. Anecdotally I’m starting to hear of and see on friends’ guns some reliability issues at higher round counts, but I think the amount of use vs. repair frequency is acceptable. Romeo 3 Max (on Springer plate for the Walther). This is my current optic and I have no plans to change. Biggest window size, glass is 2nd clearest after the DPP. Controls are straightforward, dot is crisp and has the best brightness range of the bunch for sunny days. No dot ghosting. Battery life has been good too. Durability has been solid, had a few drops without issues. Sits a little high as its base is pretty thick but I think it’s a winner. Ive got it on all 3 guns.
  10. I think it’s more safe to say that he won’t be shooting much USPSA at events put on by the national organization. I don’t think his feelings extend to everyone’s Majors.
  11. I will agree with the folks saying it looks like whatever was in your pocket hitting the holster plus your leg bumping the hanger. I’ll also say that your movement on that was pretty “jumpy” and heavy especially with the gun side. I don’t think that’s a very good strategy to use when you’ve got a fully loaded metal framed CO gun in your holster. It can really get some momentum going. even if you buy a clamping lock for the holster or one of the holsters that come with that, I doubt you would have kept it engaged and unlocked it on the clock. And I’ve personally had a gun come out like that with retention screwed all the way down on a non locking holster during practice while unloaded. either draw right away or grab the ballot and move the hand with the ballot to the gun to keep it in there while you move. And plan your movement to not bump the holster and be a little lighter on your feet.
  12. try your first method again, but shorten the prewash to 15 min and add either a tiny tiny splash of the concentrate or a normal splash of previously used combined wash fluid. Dump, quick fill/rinse, then normal wash got the hour. especially if it’s a fresh batch, this method comes out looking as good or better than new brass.
  13. “You know if you practice you could actually be good”
  14. how many rounds do you have down range on the updated DPP? Frankly with how badly I’ve been burned by the DPP I don’t think I could trust it again personally, at least not without putting more rounds down range than I care to invest in hope. And in contrast to your Sig optics experience, I have more rounds on each of my 3 Romeo 3 Max’es with no issues whatsoever than I did on any of my 3 DPPs, all of which broke (2 twice and 1 once).
  15. Did you end up with a 507/407K when you wanted a C? been seeing that a bunch lately.
  16. FWIW he shot the MN section match this past weekend in Prod after shooting CO at Great Plains in June.
  17. 1. Practice more. Setting a performance goal would be pretty arbitrary - I cannot control who shows up to matches or how much effort they put in. But I can control that for me, and if I put in the time the results will follow. 2. accountability and an equally committed training partner.
  18. We have safety rules for a reason. We get lax on them and eventually people get hurt. “But it was a new shooter” won’t matter if a round goes over the berm, the shooter NDs into the spectators or themselves, or they drop the gun. That is why I enforce the rules as written. If it’s a new shooter I am liberal with my warnings if I see a bad behavior starting, but once it crosses the line to actually being the violation, I call it and have a conversation afterwards.
  19. I guess why are you specifically looking at the titan? I am asking because your other press/automation stuff you mentioned doesn’t seem directly comparable to the Titan.
  20. Do you have any videos so we can see what is really draining your times? I get that you’re 10 seconds slower than the middle of the pack, but it’s impossible to tell why that is without seeing.
  21. Went to check this for our section championship. We have the exact same # of shooters in CO, Prod, and Limited. CO has gotten very big here in MN the last 2 years but really exploded this year. A lot of good production shooters in the state have switched over. # of shooters in CO at our section match 2018 - 22 2019 - 26 2020 - 44
  22. Can confirm I just got mine and I only ordered a few weeks back. Initial impressions are positive but haven’t had them out to the outdoor range yet. Wish they weren’t using hearing aid batteries but I got a bazillion pack from Amazon for under $20
  23. to be clear the 407C series fit the RMR footprint. The K models use a modified shield RMSc/Romeo Zero footprint.
  24. What are you mounting on? fit on my 365 XL with 0 issues. I believe it also fits the Hellcat off the shelf.
  25. At level II it is recommended, not mandatory, that you recognize classes within a division with at least 5 competitors in that class/division combination. Level III requires 10 and is mandatory. See appendix A2.
