My limited guns around 42oz Its a edge style with polymer grip. To be fair I have not shot my limited gun in about 3 years.
I shoot open now, and have added the metal grips to the open gun. If I where to shoot a lot of limited again I would add a
metal grip to it.
Not saying there is not a problem with Winchester primers, but I have been using Winchester small rifle primers for 6 or 7 years and have
not seen any problems in 2 different guns. What kind of load are you running with these primers?
I clean after every match. Replace recoil spring , firing pin spring, every 5,000 rounds and take the gun completely apart about every 5,000 rounds. When I clean I look at
the gun for any unusual wear marks and fatigue.
I have several stock gen 2 170 mm mags, they run great. All I did was replace the guts with grams springs and followers, and TTI base pads.
This is in 38 sc
Check if the front grip bushing in the grip is rubbing on the holster for the sticking. Take the little barrel and screws out of the front of the grip and try it then. If it
does not stick you need to shorten the barrel with a file, just a couple passes is all that is needed.
A couple of other shooters use VV 3n38 they like it a lot. You can get that in 4# or maybe 8# jugs. One guy with the popple holes
had a hard time making major power factor. He was using something like 11.2 of N105 and just making major. With 3N38 I think he is around 9.2 ish and
making major. When I load to major I shoot for around 172 to 175 pf. It all depends how the gun is set up.
I shoot 38 super comp and load with VV N105 and 125 jhp it shoots great, but to be fair that is all have used. It works for me so no need to
chase different loads and powders.
Find a local skate shop near you and buy some of the skate tape. I use a hair dryer to heat up the tape before you put it on, it helps with making the
tape easier to install. For about $5 you can get enough to make about 10 to 15 grips.
I have had the problem with gen 1 mags. All you have to do if file a little at the top of the trigger bow just behind the shoe. Take the grip off install the trigger and mag release
in the grip slowly insert a mag and you can see where it hits the trigger bow.
Option 5 would be the way to go, but if you want to shoot open I would save up a little more money and get a good open gun. Shoot Carry Optics for awhile until
you find the right open gun you want.
