  1. Does the bolt lock back at the bolt face or front of the carrier? Put 1 round in the mag and make sure the bolt catch is engaging the bolt face back and not the carrier.
  2. I’d say you need to post a picture as I’m not sure what a “domed” primer looks like.
  3. I needed a few and ordered them direct from RCBS a month ago and had them in a few days.
  4. I’m a couple days late here but I run 9.0 gr with 115s to make 172. I suspect lots may vary.

    Primers

I’ve never had a problem selling them as scrap locally. I take them in gallon ziplock bags typically. There are a couple of grades of scrap brass and they give the lower grade for cartridge brass.
  6. If you made a Brekke style from aluminum just thread it like a normal comp and also the barrel so the barrel heating up wouldn’t be a problem.
  7. Never used a rod, but always install them and sight through the bore to ensure alignment the first time on any gun. If it is off it will be noticeable. I don’t care if it’s factory threaded, my own thread job, or done by someone else.
  8. You should be safe using 150 gr bullet data to start with. Just start low and work up. I loaded some 147 fmj a while ago and that’s what I did. I’ll check to see what I came up with when I get back to the loading room.
  9. I guess I got lucky with the swage it adapter. I have an older one from when they first came out and have prepped 8-10k pieces of brass with it with no issues. I set up a separate tool head for the 650 for brass prep. When loading it’s pretty rare that a primer doesn’t seat correctly. I also have a Super Swage but haven’t used it in quite a few years but don’t see any difference in the results.
  10. You can either buy the adjustable charge bar or use something like nail polish to build up the inside of the hole to reduce volume. I hate to give advice not knowing how it works in your gun but you may be just fine without changing anything. A trip to the chrono would be a good idea.
  11. I think I have 7 packages somewhere in the system. 3 are from November and appear to be stuck in sorting facilities. One is a case of Montana Gold 9mm bullets. Sucks when Amazon packages sail through in a couple of days but Priority Mail gets no priority.
  12. It looks like they sell full cases listed separately but they are not available yet. I wouldn’t expect to see those offered until the market settles down.
  13. That’s pretty wild. I just don’t use any media at all. Just soap and water For an hour and brass is more than clean enough.
  14. jfp, fill out your profile with a location. You might find someone to trade them. Rem 7 1/2 is my favorite sr primer
  15. I went down the LNL road years ago. A friend and I had convinced ourselves that red was as good as blue but I will admit I was wrong. Red makes good ammo but blue is definitely a better machine. I eventually even had a pair of LNL presses set up. I had some money and just had to see what the 650 was all about so I ordered one and set it up for .223. After the first day I realized what I had been missing. I sold the other LNL and ordered another Dillon. I won’t argue all the things back and forth but I Would never say red is as good as blue. I didn’t like 700x for anything myself. .223 has plenty of usable powder options. Louu gave you some good choices if you can find them. ML123, I’m in Howard, OH. If you have time for a road trip I can probably help you get started with some primers. PM me a phone number and I’ll give you a call.
  16. ML123, you might want to finish filling out your profile so everyone can know your location.
  17. Ordered some Precision Delta 147 gr bullets on July 1 and they shipped yesterday on Aug. 20.
  18. The grip is cracked on the right side but no worries about that. Will likely be a stainless one soon. Good eye.
  19. Has anyone ever seen this extra hole in an STI frame or have any idea what it may be for? It is a nicely cut hole and not threaded. It’s on a gun I purchased used. I asked the previous owner but No response.
  20. I’ll second the Speed Bead Burris mount. Have had it for several years and never a problem. It’s easy to install, puts the dot low, is reversible, and doesn’t cost much money. Really nothing to not like about it.
  21. Should people start taking their own sights apart and coating the circuit board with silastic or some other type adhesive to keep things from rattling apart? I don’t know how simple this could be as I’ve never taken one of those sights apart. Are they glued, screwed together, or ?
