  1. Mchapman - I need to apologize Sir - I mis-read or my brain just wanted to contribute to this discussion without realizing that you were talking about a S&W stock and I am talking about the Ruger Stocks..... Again sorry for the confusion I created in this thread discussion....Mark
  2. I will pull the Target Lite out this weekend and get this info posted...Do not want to provide bad info..I will be comparing the Target Lite Thumbhole stock to the over molded Hogue. I will also take a picture of both while I am weighing....
  3. Hoops - I am 60 and recently started experiencing some of the same issues...A gentleman friend I was shooting with who had been down the same pathway suggested I spend $20.00 to see if his idea, that worked for him, would work for me...I did what he said and it worked..... Allow me to share what he taught me...currently I wear 2.50 - 2.75 power reading glasses and I also wear driving glasses. What he suggested I try was to order off of EBay a set of 1.50 power and a set of 2.00 power safety shooting glasses. Cost - $9.50 a pair with free shipping from a US seller....Brand Name is Elvex...... This allowed me to do two things - see the red dot or open sights on my Pistols and rifles clear enough to see the sight pattern or red dot AND it also allowed me to see the IDPA or USPSA targets..... Remember - the key is to go to a lower power than you currently wear and it allows everything to be clear enough to enjoy shooting....I wear a 2.50 - 2.75 power reading glass and I settled on the 1.5 powered safety shooting glasses....It may be worth a try especially for the Minimal cost to give this a try.....Good Luck Sir.....
  4. The Hogue over molded stock is lighter. I switched to the Hogue on my Target Lite. I do miss the Extra control I feel like I had with the thumbhole bit I am no professional and I like the “tackiness” of the Hogue... Do not quote me on the exact reduction but I think it is 9 oz lighter....I will weight both the next time I get out the Target Lite......
  5. We only allow it if the shooter is changing from a pistol to a rifle or vice versa. We do mot allow shooters to go back to back if they are shooting the same style weapon (we also do not allow PCC and any rifle division to shoot back to back)....As Match Director and RO I have witnessed several shooters string times consistently go down before we stopped this process... Makes it more fair for everyone....
  6. Consider one thing - In 12 to 24 months from now are you gonna look back and ask yourself - Why did I not buy the 1100? If this is even a possibility then go with the 1100...I am 60 now and I am blessed and fortunate to have a great job, wonderful wife, and my health...I have a 650 on my bench now and a 1100 in route....Do I shoot enough now to justify the 1100.....Nope.....But I bought it because when I retire I plan on shooting a lot more than I do now and wanted to have the 1100 to help this old man reload in the easiest manner possible.... Also - being that the 1100 is the latest commercial model your purchase of an 1100 is really an investment...I have yet to read where anyone lost money on the selling of their Dillon press if they kept their press in great working condition and held on to it for some period of time.....My plan is when I get to the point where I cannot safely reload (mind or body) I can give one Dillon press to each of my two sons for their use and enjoyment.....Just my 2 cents worth.....
  7. B Hogan - Allow me to recommend a great and simple solution for your mixed brass situation..... A Plus Brass (Todd) in the classified section of this forum can be your solution...Message Todd and tell him your situation...Todd has an imaging system that sorts 9mm brass by head stamp and he can remove ALL military crimped and stepped brass...Todd sells brass and he will also sort your cleaned brass....Todd if finishing up on a run for me where he is sorting my brass...I sent him cleaned mixed brass and he is sorting and polishing my brass and then sending it back to me. Whatever he has to cull he back fills with his sorted brass so that the box he returns to me is as full as it was when I sent it to him.....His prices (very reasonable) will surprise you... Todd is a great guy and can help you - might want to send him a message.....Mark
  8. Gregg - My springs arrived today and all 15 units are finished on one end and non-finished on the other end...I will be swapping five out this week as a sample batch before switching all 12 springs out....Mark
  9. It would be interesting to know what machine Dillon used on the RL1100 press they had set up in their Engineering Department that had over a million cycles on it.....
  10. Thanks ZZT - I did not find anything specifically calling out holster location restrictions under Steel Challenge but wanted to ask to make sure...Thanks again Sir
  11. How is the holster location/position managed in Steel Challenge? I ask because I was asked if the holster in any centerfire pistol division can be forward of the 3 o’clock position?
  12. Gregg - Thanks sir for this information. They should be here early next week and I will let you know what is received...Thanks Again...Mark
  13. Ruger MK3 22/45 Lite....Has run good for my use...Will have a FTF from time to time so I just ordered a set of magazine springs from Volqquartsen yesterday...Hoping the new springs and a little magazine tuning will solve my problems....
  14. I RO a monthly match (not an official USPSA tier match - more like Outlaw Steel) that has 30-45 shooters each month and because of our range set up I manage two or three different courses. This means that I call out these commands about (40 shooters x 5 strings x 3 courses) = about 600 times (give or take 100) each month....This has allowed me to learn a lot about myself and our shooters with respect to this topic.. I have been asked before a monthly match to provide an example of the planned cadence and I am happy to oblige but I also tell the entire group of shooters that I will do my best to maintain the same cadence throughout the entire match to the best of my ability BUT if I see a shooter starting to “creep” I will provide one warning before issuing a 3 second penalty....It happens sometimes when We get to the money round where shooters are competing for gift certificates or a prize (ammo, shooting bag, etc.).....During the match one infraction goes with a warning...During the money round - we have zero allowance for creeping.....Mark
  15. And for those of you who are not aware - Mr. Zack Jones (who I had the pleasure of meeting and watching shoot at this event last year) plays a MAJOR role in this match...Zack wears to many hats for me to come close to defining and he is never to busy to help a young shooter I know, who are fairly new to this event, get squadded and set up (Alexis said you are the best and sends her thanks - again)..... Zack Jones - Thank you for who you are, what you represent, and the hours and hours of extra work you put in to make this event and this shooting discipline successful for USPSA...I will be stopping by again this year when you are between courses to shake your hand again and say hello.... Mark Dillon
  16. The gold mark is GREAT idea also...This is where I will start until I can get all of my 18 - 10rd mags drilled.....Thanks for sharing...
  17. Dr Mike - October. Not exactly sure the day.....Mark
  18. Cool - That is Cool to see a NIB RL built 30 years ago....To think in today’s day about this - For someone to have the funding to purchase multiple $2000 loaders and also a “reserve” machine is someone who knows where to invest their money......I had to save for four months to buy one RL1100...... By looking at the picture I am guessing that Dillon did not provide these machines “with a complete set of dies” from the factory 30 years ago.....
  19. RCBS RockChucker for 30+ years - still have and use Dillon 550 for 1 year - sold Dillon 650 for 5 years - still have Dillon RL1100 - just added Need a larger bench and Reload area now
  20. Wanted to respectfully ask if anyone who has received their RL1100 loader can provide comments and/or feedback on this newly released unit....Especially if you are a loader that owns or has owned the RL1050 and/or Super1050....Thanks in advance for your comments and feedback...Mark
  21. I bought a George Forman countertop stove at a local garage sale for $5.00. Then I bought two brownie pans at WalMart for $6.00 each and I can dry 600-700 pieces of 9mm in 20 min....Mark
  22. Guys - Simple solution - at least it worked for me before I switched to SS wet tumbling... Use 3/4 to 7/8’s corn cob media and the other portion I used walnut media...Brass got clean and polished with almost no. Dust....Something to consider.....Mark
  23. Or do what I did when I got my 650.... I use my RCBS Rock Chucker as a depriming unit so that I do not get all that “crap” on my 650.....Mark
  24. Posvar - Yes Sir - the SN is part of the FCU and I did pick up the complete lower unit with the FCU for $200.00. Just had to have it shipped to my FFL for registration...Still carrying this version and loving it...Mark
  25. Tampa-XD45 - Thanks Sir for your reply - I will read the provided informaiton also....Mark
