  1. I know every shooter out there wilould be more than willing to video someone if they asked. Out of all the 3 gun matches I’ve been to, the video has prob only came out less than 10x. It’s more about making the right call and getting what you earned during your coarse of fire. It literally causes zero issues in 3 Gun. I don’t know why is would be any different in uspsa.
  2. Yup I heard that works pretty good as well. I didn’t get too caught up in lightening the trigger because it’s actually pretty dang good out of the box. Good luck have fun with it.
  3. (Clearly wasn’t) I totally agree with you saying sometimes it’s hard to tell where the 180 lone is in videos. But this particular stage, there was a barricade right in front of him that ran along with the 180. So it was pretty easy to tell. I think the No Video rule is something that needs to be changed in USPSA. We use it in 3 Gun. It’s helped me out on 2 different occasions. Saved me a precedural on one occasion and a no shoot on another. Obviously there has to be stipulations on where and when you can use it, but I personally think it would come in handy in certain situations.
  4. had a buddy get hit with a super questionable 180 call. We watched the video multiple times. It clearly wasn't in violation. bummer for sure.
  5. Vortex Venom, good sized window backed with a good warranty!
  6. you can check out the Springco recoil reduction sys. It is listed for a walther q5, but works great in the canik SFX. Also, smoky mountain concealment makes a killer competition holster for this pistol.
  7. you have to make sure all trigger work is internal only, like in production. Nothing visible from the exterior (like the trigger pad itself)
  8. a pretty inexpensive optic that is super light and has a good reputation is the vortex viper or the vortex Venom. Both are great optics lightweight and come with a killer warrenty
  9. uspsa is points per second. Take your total points for the stage, and divide it by you time
  10. You have to explain it to your wife this way.... at least with the 650 I can get in and get out of the garage in time for dinner. ?
  11. Depends on where you live. Here in FL there’s matches during the week and multiple matches on every sat and sund. Depending on work schedules and wfanily stuff anywhere from 4 up to 10.
  12. It would be really tough not to be better than last year considering the weather. It was killer this year. The match ran smoothly and the stages were fun. They actually went out to 500yds and had 2 other stages with long range rifle. It was a good match.
  13. I don't personally shoot single stack, but a buddy of mine does and bought the classic maybe 3 mos ago. Hes an A shooter who prob should be a master. But man he swears by that thing now. . He really liked the longer sight radius as well. I also shot it and it shoots really good. I cant think of any reasons not to get it.
  14. time behind the gun, live and dry fire practice.
  15. Man the most popular powder around here for both 3 gun and uspsa for 9mm and 40 major is Tite Group. The second most popular that I know of is N320. But the n320 is def more pricey. The good things about tite group is its cheap, readily available, and you only use around 3.5-3,7 gr for a 124gr bullet. Also I saw you spoke of spending the money for a more accurate more expensive bullet for matches. I spent big bucks on the better bullets for a long time. Till eventually a buddy convinced me to try is coated lead bullets. I was hesitant. once he actually got me to try them however, I've been using them ever since. Theyre way cheaper an honestly for uspsa or 3gun, The 1/2' at 50 yds you loose in grouping is really insignificant. I recommend you at least give them a shot to help you with your budget. a few companies to try are, SNS Casting, Bayou Bullets, or Acme bullet comp. There are many more to try if your interested. The cool thing about SNS is if you buy them ny the case, they pay shipping. Not a bad deal.
  16. Yeah the Swarovski 1-8 is crystal clear
  17. I def see he advantages of having a 8x scope. But the clearity of glass to me is a bit more impt than an extra 2x. 4 MOA won't give you any issues with a 6x optic. Maybe see if you can find someone with either of the 2 scopes to see what ya like. I know they arnt cheap.
  18. Well said. Me too. It's almost creepy how accurate it is.
  19. Razor HD. Both are good, but the glass on the razor is superior to the Burris. The eye relief is also better in my opinion on the razor. Not sure what your shooting but in 3 gun a 1-6 is more than enough for any target I've ever shot.
  20. I too used to use the 69 smk. I since went up to the 77gr smk. They do a little better in the wind. Loading with 24.0gr of varget powder with an OAL of 2.24. You length may need to a little different depending yon your rifle. Developing a precision load for your specific rifle can be a pain. I think the max load is 25gr for varget. But double check the maxloads in any hodgdon reloading handbook. I'm pretty sure I was using 24.3gr of varget for my 69's.
  21. I know all a lot of people buy from starline but it's pretty pricey. There's a guy I know who owns a company called fancey brass here in FL. It's once fired and prepped back to new condition.
  22. Man everyone I know buys new brass or shoots once fired.
  23. I've always just ran the 30$ steel guide rods they sell on Dawson. They always ship out quick and I've had 1000's of rounds with no issues
  24. I've bought 3 of them. Luckily one of the last 2 guns were @2.75 and the other was right @3. The 1.5 lb stuff is too light for me personally. See a lot of seasoned folks AD. Even when they're just prepping the trigger. Some people like the super light. For me 2.5-3 is perfect.
