  1. Their customer service is great. I had a problem, emailed them and they made it right in a hurry.
  2. Howard Leight impact sport. Def the best bang for the buck.
  3. Redding competition seating die. Has micrometer adjustments for the seating depth. Well worth it.
  4. I like to have them but pretty much only use them for press checks.
  5. Just get the Dawson tool less. Not cheap for a guide rod but it's the only thing I would use now.
  6. This is all a non issue for me. I don't know of any clubs near me that are even going to offer the division. Seems like nobody wants it around me.
  7. Some good advice here. I had the same problem in the beginning. Usually when I was trying to push and go too fast. Get a plan and run it through as many times as possible.
  8. I'd be bringing a push broom and a big dust pan. Could make off with a damn good haul of brass lol.
  9. 2011s tend to like long ammo to feed properly. Way longer than you can get factory. They are also notorious for mag issues. I run MBX which are tuned when you buy them. Pricey but they work. Most guys I know that use sti brand mags have to tune them before they are 100% then periodically after that depending on use and what they are dropped on.
  10. DVC is cool but I think it's almost too light. I love the weight of the edge. It's about as heavy as you can get it. you can prob get an edge for quite a bit less than the DVC but either way pick one and shoot it a lot.
  11. This some guys would leave the screw sticking way out so when this happened they could easily lift it back up. The magnetic is the way to go. Haven't met anybody that isn't happy with the retention on the magnetic block yet.
  12. If it falls, the shooter would get a mike for the popper and mikes and FTSA procedurals for any targets that weren't activated. For example, the popper activates one 2-round swinging target, the scoring outcome wold be 3 mikes, 1 FTSA, and of course, the 15 possible points that were given up. Big gamble not to drive it down! This is it.
  13. I clean everything after each range session. Could be why I've had almost no failures that weren't ammo related. I know the glocks will run filthy but why. I just don't like to abuse them like that. Im a little anal when it comes to cleaning my toys. Some of those pictures give me agida lol.
  14. I totally agree with that and am pretty much in the same position. Def don't let the stippling on the gen 4 make your decision. There is plenty of good grip tape options out there to make up for that.
  15. Dawson competition sight set
  16. Contour is a great camera for this sport. You see gopros a lot but they can be a little awkward for this. Check out the contour they mount great to your muffs. And welcome to the forum.
  17. 170 plus and you should be good to go. If 5 isn't enough of a buffer there has to be a load issue somewhere.
  18. I use a Barney mag with 1 round in it. When I LAMR I insert said Barney mag and rack the slide. When I remove it if it's empty I know there is one in the pipe no question. Don't have to worry about witness holes or anything. On stages with multiple strings I will press check because the gun is staying hot. Works perfect and I haven't gone click since I started this routine.
  19. I have a colt. It ran perfect out of the box and has been running perfect for several thousand rounds. My handholds and otherwise. Great gun. My only complaint is that it isn't fitted quite as tight as I would like but for a $900 1911 that is probably pretty standard. It doesn't seem to affecting the accuracy so in the end I'm really ok with that. Would definitely recommend a colt.
  20. MTM boxes with the bullets down for sure.
  21. That club is thinking about getting rid of most of the solid walls to avoid that situation. It def takes away from some of the game as people are way less likely to blow by a target. But if certainly helps the safety factor.

    How Come?

Confidence and eye sight If your not comfortable for whatever reason or you can't see it as well as you would like you won't be able to make the hits where you want. 20 yards isn't that far but a lot of people don't shoot it on a regular basis.
  23. I think its fair. I have seen plenty of instances where someone is at a disadvantage based on height weight handicaps or whatever. It all comes out in the wash. After all it is a sport.
