Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Another vote for LOK grips. The customer service I experienced on a custom set even thicker than normal was outstanding.
  2. Thanks so much. I was down to my last 1/2 pound. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I called them up. Real easy to deal with. Powder ships tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Bought my last Mossberg last year. Bought a turkey gun. Patterned it and took it on a 2 day hunt out of state. The safety locked up. Took it apart and it was put together without the detent ball, just the spring. Spring got wedged under the safety. Pulled the spring and kept my thumb on the safety the rest of the trip holding it in safe. Called Mossberg QA and asked them to send me a detent ball and I would fix it. They told me it was a restricted part! Said I would have to send the gun back. Wrote a letter to the CEO expressing my outrage and asking them to send me what is essentially a ball bearing. Head of customer service called me. Said it was a restricted part due to safety and I would have to send the gun back. I offered to sign a full waiver. They said no. I bought a pack of loose ball bearings on Amazon and fixed it myself. Last Mossberg I ever buy. I can buy any part I want for my Glock or CZ and replace it, but Mossberg screwed up my safety and wouldn't send me a ball bearing.

  6. My CZ 75 Shadowline has 147gr Montana Golds touching the lands at 1.115 OAL. I typically load to 1.095" My SP01 Shadow does have a more normal chamber.
  7. GADPA state's match was one of the best in the country and a must attend if you were looking for a technical match that would really test your skills. This is going to be a big loss for IDPA. I just hope GADPA continues to put on that one big, must attend match of the year.
  8. On Step 4, "...looking for the most efficient foot movement..." are you consciously looking to reduce the number of steps or pick the fastest route or some combination?
  9. You sure it is not the mag release? I had issues with one of mine that would catch the mag. Cleaned it up with a dremel and some cold blue and no more issues.
  10. Switched from IDPA to USPSA. The level of USPSA competition in my area is head and shoulders above IDPA and forced me to get way more serious in my training just to compete.
  11. Put yourself on a timer and check your times going left and right using a cross-over step, drop step and a leading foot step. Understand what is most efficient for what situation. Small steps both accelerating and decelerating are usually more efficient than large steps and heavy foot plants into a position. Time yourself from foot plant to breaking the shot. Tons of time to be made up here for most people compared to the top shooters. Really push the transitions. Everyone has a tendency to get lazy here. Can you make your hits on a big lean for the last target in an array or do you need to stutter step. What is faster? What is faster if this isn't the last position and you have to move again? Do you know how much time one extra step costs you and are you then running the most direct path with the fewest steps?
  12. Me too. For a year now.
  13. I talked to Mink about 3 weeks ago. He has no idea if they will ever come out despite the obvious demand.
  14. Transition speed difference isn't noticeable. Difference in muzzle flip is very noticeable to me. The Shadow also feels more solid in my grip with less sight movement.
  15. I used to have this problem. A shooting partner had me get in my shooting stance and he reached over and pulled back the slide. Actually pushed me backwards. Eye opening on how important stance is to recoil control.
