  1. Every picture I have seen online of case failures with this brass is a clean cut right where the internal ledge resides. Yep, mine was a clean cut following the exact dimensions of the internal ridge. Half sheered off and was stuck in the chamber and the other half ejected. I couldn't figure out why another round would not chamber until I broke the gun down and saw the shiny ring of brass welded into the chamber. I had to soak the chamber portion of the barrel in liquid wrench to get the little bastard out.
  2. I had this EXACT failure two weeks ago with an extremely modest 167 PF 9 maj Silhouette load with an IMT headstamp. IMT and Ammoland headstamps all have that ring. I now have to sort my 9mm brass, sad day
  3. It's the coating, and it's certainly not specific to BBI's (fantastic bullets by the way). I get the same smell from SNS, Bayou, Black and Blue, etc etc. ANY bullet coated with J&M Hi-Tek lube. I could not possibly care less about the smell of bullets when I'm shooting. My underarms smell 5x worse than that 3 stages into a match.
  4. Save your Sil for 9/38sc major PF loads or sell it to an open shooter. You won't produce light recoil 147gr 9 minor loads with that slow of a powder. More powder = more ejecta = more recoil for a non compensated pistol
  5. I have found Bullseye to be .1gr to .2gr faster than Titegroup with 124gr to 165gr loads

    TS Modifications

Whoever owns the Accushadow and Czechmate that you shot last weekend must be super, super cool .
  7. + 1,000! I broke 4 punches trying to get my CZC new style trigger pin out until I picked up a starter punch at Home Depot. Replaced with CGW floating trigger pin and I'm a happy camper. The design is ingenious.
  8. While this is subjective, I discovered TG as being hot burning by: touching the slide of my gun after running 7 consecutive Bill Drills (burned the hell out of my hand), consistently having TG melt the fiber optic rod off my front sight, and picking up spent brass whilst looking for pressure signs.
  9. Recoil is subjective. Ask 5 people about a particular load shot through the same pistol on the same day and you will get 6 different answers-so to say. Let's take subjectivity out of the equation and get down to physics...more gunpowder = more recoil. That's all there is to it. At identical power factor, heavier bullets will ALWAYS have less recoil in a non-compensated pistol as they require less powder to achieve said PF.
  10. You definitely picked up some 9 major brass...
  11. I also found 147's to be far easier to load than 135's in respect to OAL. 147's are softer shooting-less powder to make power factor = less total ejecta = less recoil.
  12. No fix, the only thing that would make clean up a little easier is polishing your feed ramp. TG is dirty as hell at any power factor and in every caliber.
  13. Different bullet and gun, but I load 147gr Xtreme's w/ 3.4gr N320 at 1.145 which produces 135PF out of my CZ.
  14. Did reaming the barrel help you load much longer? I can load Xtreme 124gr HPCB to 1.16 OAL but any longer than that and they drag inside the mag rather than don't pass the plunkaroo test. Admittedly those are RN bullets rather than JHP's. Did you take any measurements before and after the ream with that specific PD JHP?
  15. Yep, the include a heavier mainspring in case you are having light primer strikes (assuming the lighter main spring is in the gun).
  16. In my experience Titegroup makes for "snappier" recoil at the exact same power factor vs. Bullseye. Bullseye is a softer shooting powder in 9mm, 40 minor/major and 45 in my experience. As others have stated, both meter well and will provide good accuracy in any gamer caliber.
  17. The blue bullets do not use hi-tek coating, it's something proprietary. Regardless, neither hi-tek coated bullets or the blue bullets coating smokes with TG. To clarify when I say smoke, I mean no more so than plated or fully jacketed bullets with TG.

    cz czechmate holster

I just fit my Czechmate to a DAA magnetic RM and I could not agree with this more. I did not have to remove much material a file worked great. I would be ordering a new SP01 block if I tried that with a dremel

    9 major

I used to load 10.0 grains AA#7 with 124 JHP's @ 1.175 OAL. When I say used to, I mean- once I burned the few pounds of #7 I had I did not buy more. The load works the comp well, but was dirty and a massive pain to load on my 650 due to the fullness of the case. If I was shooting SuperComp, AA#7 would be near the top of my list. Pressure signs and 9 major are synonymous, there is just no way to get around it. It should go without saying but this load was safe in MY gun, Start LOW!

    9 major

10+ grains will get you there but will require 1.175 plus OAL

    Mag Cleaning

I use brake cleaner on the inside of the mag body and then run an Arredondo brush through them a few times. Those that live in humid areas may want to lightly run a silicone impregnated rag over the bodies to prevent rust after that.
  22. Sounds like excessive crimp like others have mentioned. I crimp my Xtreme's to .3775" - .378" in both my production 9 minor loads 147/165gr and open 9 major loads 115/124gr. This equates to just barely removing the bell. Try and get the caliper at the absolutely top of the brass to get a more accurate measurement of your crimp.
  23. Drilled and Tapped into the Cheely Mount?
