  1. I suggested it because I had it happen when I had a Spartan 9mm. I had to try several catches until one worked with Dawson Metalforms. Glad it worked for you.
  2. Try a different mag catch. They will hold the mags at different heights in the frame.
  3. 2 tone would be sharp as hell. I don't know anything about IDPA, would that be legal?
  4. Bill drills, watch the dot tracking in the lens, you'll get it quickly.
  5. I got an email that the Zev +5 base pads are on sale. There was a comment that a 17 mag with the base pad was a couple millimeters over 140. Could someone with a Zev base pad measure & see if it will fit the gauge? Thanks.
  6. Placed my order. Hope this has enough wack to pop S&B primers, which I have a ton of. Even if it's a little heavier, the lack of stacking will be a major improvement.
  7. Try the long firing pin. In the grand scheme, it's cheap, & if it fixes the problem, great. I run the Dawson's in all my 1911/2011's. With the shortage of Federal primers, it's cheap insurance.
  8. Main spring weight? Cheapest & easiest fix, check it after primers.
  9. I'm holding off on an order until the 15# spring becomes available.
  10. I don't sort by headstamp. Not anal enough to bother. It's not bullseye. I know some do, but I found it to be a waste of time. Plus all the different buckets take up too much garage space.
  11. Wow, I didn't see that flying. OP, once you pay for the plate & to mill the slide, wouldn't it be cheaper to just buy the MOS slide?
  12. If we don't change the weight ceiling, aren't we making this a "plastic only" division again? What optic & base pad combo makes weight in a Stock II? Just curious what combo he is using. My LimPro with a Jpoint, dovetail mount, & Henning production basepads, & Scales grips weighs 44oz. Henning extended pads would be over weight, I'd think. The Jpoint is all plastic, & adds 1oz. An RMR or Deltapoint would be heavier.
  13. I think you just reinforced Gary's argument. Since the bulk of the shots fired in our sport is at local matches with roving ROs, the potential for inconsistency is that much greater. And, if we can't guarantee consistency in our classifiers, what value are they?
  14. Large frame mags fit in the STI 771 pouches too.
  15. If we don't modify the weight limit, aren't we making this a "plastic only" division again? Won't most steel guns be too heavy? I'd assume a Stock II+Henning extended mag+dot & mount will be well over 45oz. That is only an example, as the Stock II is the cool kid gun of the day.
  16. They came out with 40 mags last year that were more "SV-like," and were supposed to have 9mm mags to follow. Haven't heard anything about them since. The 40 mags had a single large indent in the sides instead of parallel indent rows.
  17. There's no such division as heavy metal limited in USPSA. Are you talking about 3 gun? Then that would depend on individual match rules cause there is no one governing body for all of 3 gun.
  18. Agreed. If you shot while faulting, you own it. Just like multiple hits on no-shoots.
  19. I love the 771's too. The STI pouches work just fine for Tangfo mags. I have the thumb nuts on mine. I turn them in a little, perfect fit.
  20. Guy I bought my used PSA Hybrid bolt from threw in 2 extra firing pins, so 9mm must be hard on them.
  21. Kinda like all the anti-PCCers complaining about PCC.
  22. It's just......different. Fun trying something else other than open & limited. Variety being the spice and all that. I think it comes down to goals. If you want to class as high as possible, jumping around in divisions won't help much. But if you are having fun, changing divisions is like shooting an entirely different game every time. Great looking guide rods! I keep finding stuff I want to buy at PD! Started a new list last night, while a box from PD was waiting for me in my mailbox.
  23. Close. The ergos are different. I love the safety location on 1911/2011. But similar enough that I'm falling in love with Tanfos after shooting STI since 1995. Looking forward to my Monday match tomorrow to shoot my LimPro. Any way we could get the Stock II AUS here? Why don't they import the longer slide version?
