  1. Candice's recommendation has me looking at the Limited. Nice looking gun. What I'd really love to have is a 2011 style gun with a DA/SA trigger for production. I had a Para LDA long time ago. Like a 16 shot revolver. I just could not get into that trigger. But an STI Edge with a PT steel grip, & a d/s trigger would rock.
  2. Did they do it because of how the gun shot, or for 40 component reasons? When I was primarily a Ltd. shooter, and starting into 3 gun, I shot my SV with 40 minor ammo. I'm not gonna jump into anything until I shoot this LimPro some. Who knows, I may hate CZ/Tanfo platform. But it does feel great dryfiring.
  3. I haven't tried them, just saw them on his website when I was looking for base pads for my LimPro for production. I've used TF in the past for Glock and M&P, and they are good gear. I'd assume these would be likewise. I think they might have to adjust the weight limit to accound for the 140mm mags.
  4. True, one reload is one reload. Very interesting, by an large!
  5. I thought there was a time limit on changing rules, so we don't make gear obsolete so quickly? And, this will kill any other caliber in the division 'cause capacity. 9mm only!
  6. I also found Taylor Freelance makes a long extension, that is $10 cheaper.
  7. So one gun could be used for major & minor, like a 40 single stack can be 8 round major or 10 round minor. This is the only series of guns I can think of that is versatile enough. It has the capacity to be competitive in limited, yet still be a soft shooting minor gun for production. With the trigger mods, I don't think you give up much compared to 2011's, when shooting the EAA in single action.. In the long run, cost of 40 brass is higher, but im set on that for a while. Light 40 bullets are comparable in cost to heavy 9 bullets. I agree with moving the red dot plate a lot is not practical, so throw CO out of the equation. I'd rather shoot open than CO anyhow.
  8. I think the SIII will be too heavy as a CO gun. I just read the long thread when Primary Machine came out with the mini red dot adapter plates, & SII's were barely making the 45oz. limit. I definitely would want to shoot major in L & L10. What is the weight of an SIII with empty mag? I've seen 2.1# on for sale listings, but must be without a mag. Still thinking out loud here... I think the LimPro might be a little light with 40 major. Compared to the Stock twins.
  9. I recently picked up a used Limited Pro 9mm to replace my Glock 34 for production & carry optics. I started thinking that a 40 could make a great 4 division gun. Do all the PD mods & polishing, shoot a great 40 minor load for production & CO. Put a heavier recoil spring & maybe a magwell & Henning base pads, shoot it single action for Ltd. & L10. I have a Jpoint & Primary Machine mount for CO, a couple 5 gal. buckets of 40 brass. Do all the usual PD parts work on the 40 guns? Are there any downsides I'm not seeing? Which would be better, a Stock II or III? I think a 40 LimPro would not be ideal.
  10. Absolutely! Buy in bulk to offset the hazmat. Primers are money in the bank. I bought enuff reloading stuff last year to get thru 4 years of Hillary. Don't regret it at all.
  11. Not sure why BladeTech can't just make the darn hanger and holster STRAIGHT UP AND DOWN to begin with!
  12. I just picked up a used LimPro that supposedly has had a Titan hammer, Henning long pin, and BOLO. The hammer appears to actually be a Delta, but oh well. I have a metric crap ton of minor ammo loaded with S&B pistol primers that my Glock 34 with DK trigger and 4# hammer spring would eat all day. With the LimPro, DA is 90% light hits, SA is 100%. So, I loaded a couple hundred rounds with my small stock of Federal primers to be my "top of the mag" ammo. LAMR gets a Federal in the chamber, S&B behind it. Not a perfect solution, but it'll get me through until I sort out the light hits.
  13. I just got a Bladetech for the Limited Pro/Stock III exactly like that. I think it might be to compensate for the outward cant the SR belt loop has. I'm using the aluminum eBay belt hanger, so I had to use some rubber washers that come with Techloks to shim it all straight. Perfect now. Some heat would probably fix it pretty easily too.
  14. None of the above. Find a Dan Wesson Pointman 9. I will never sell mine. I have owned or own: STI Trojan, Springfield Loaded, Colt, Kimber, Para Pro Comp. The DW PM9 has the best fit & finish, best internals, best accuracy of any 1911 I've owned.
  15. I tried bullets out, and can't do it for production or SS, only open/limited, where the pouches are in the front.
  16. That's how G10 grips are usually secured, or any material that doesn't have any natural compression.
  17. As a PCC shooter, I agree. I ask for no special accommodations in stage design.
  18. Ì guess I'm old school, but I like my Safariland 771's. Rollers in the back & the mags come out so smooth. I drilled new holes & mounted them bullets-out, & replaced the tension screws with thumb adjustable screws. I use them in open & limited, mounted in front. For production & single stack, I have old Safariland 077's, bullets forward. Simple but very effective. 077's are long gone, but copsplus.com has 771's for $21 each. The kydex Safariland uses is very strong, I've never broken one, unlike what I've read about the newer pouches.
  19. I know how you feel! I was stuck in B open (hence my screen name) forever. You'll get there in no time. I should probably change my screen name.
  20. The Para Dawson pads work great on 126 tubes. The ribs go down further, so the followers don't get stuck. With Grams guts I get 25 reloadable. I never could get it to work with 140 tubes. The follower would always get stuck under the ribs. I can get 26-27 in a 140/Para combo, they just don't come back out for me! I know Eric has, we've talked about it. I think he massages the indents. i have one Grams basepad on an old SV big stick that is not as long as the later tubes. It is the longest model Grams makes. I don't drop it on concrete, but it is ok on gravel or grass. It has cracks around the pin holes, but no one makes an aluminum equivalent, that I am aware of.
  21. Them are some flat primers! Way over-pressure signs. What is the load & OAL? The fp is dragging on the primer. The gun is unlocking while the fp is still in contact with the primer.
  22. I've used Safariland 077's until they were discontinued, & now the 771's, & I've never broken one in 22 years.
