  1. 8.3.7 is if your finished unload and show clear. If you aren't finished you are free to keep shooting, that's where the differing though are
  2. I use a lonewolf 40-9 barrel and 9 mags to shoot 9mm out of my 35. I use it for a idpa match once a year. Ive only ran 1-2k through it in the last couple years and ive never had a problem. Not production legal but much cheaper than a new slide.
  3. If you trust your local Smith I'm pretty jealous of your options. Every time I walk in there with money to spend I end up walking back out with the money because they don't do any modifications for the games we play. I just get funny looks when I explain to the 3rd guy what I want done.
  4. E4 will no longer applies. They took it out of the rule, stipple away.
  5. If you can add finger groves and stipple anywhere you want you can use as many layers of grip tape as you want and I wouldn't give you a hard time about it.
  6. That will work, thanks. I heard something about a rule book in an app that would auto update for everyone but that was awhile ago. Is that the greenfield rule book?
  7. Has uspsa said anything about releasing an updated rule book? Last year was pretty annoying having all the new division pages in a pdf on my phone and its only been made worse by last months BOD meeting. 2 divisions added for good, production is drastically different.
  8. So with the new rules this is 100% no questions asked legal? Magwell Opening "No OFM or aftermarket external magwells. Internal magwell dimensions may be increased. Aftermarket external flaring is prohibited."
  9. That was legal under the old rules.
  10. You won't find it in the rule book. It's as legal as every other "big boy rule".
  11. A year ago I asked Troy about a mag pouch that had a magnet it in and if it was legal for single stack. This was his response. Since both single stack and production say you can retain a mag by magnetic means I would say it applies to both. On Dec 18, 2016 5:15 PM, "Troy McManus" <mactiger@eatel.net> wrote:
  12. I don't see how that's any different than other aftermarket base pads. Your not changing the gun your changing the magazine, which is fine. As long as it fits in the box and makes weight good to go.
  13. Dillon recommends to grease them. I had the same noise because I didn't grease them after i cleaned everything the first time. Page 21 in the 1050 manual Lubrication Operating circumstances will dictate the frequency of required lubrication. It is highly recommended that the Super 1050 be cleaned and lubed after every 10,000 rounds of operation. Use a high-grade, conventional wheel bearing grease – do not use oil. Lubrication Points: • Alignment Pins (#12972 & #13515 located under the toolhead)
  14. If it has a trigger safety you wouldn't even need to use the thumb safety. It's probably technically illegal in production, just like switching glock frames, but I wouldn't worry about it.
  15. I skimmed through the steel challenge rule book and it doesn't list anything against having 2 guns. I know the uspsa rule book is pretty clear as you mentioned, but if its not in the rule book for the game your playing its fine. This would probably get more attention in the steel challenge sub forum.
  16. Did the carry optic rules get updated since 2/17? (if they were they aren't on the website) If it's not a glock part and it's externally visible it's illegal? So not legal for carry optics or production. "A factory/OFM magazine release which extends only the length of the magazine release may be used. A magazine release which provides a larger surface area (paddles, buttons) may only be used if it is an OFM part available on an approved model of gun." "Sights, firing pins, firing pin retainers, pins, extractors and ejectors MAY be replaced with OFM or aftermarket parts. Any other components which are externally visible may ONLY be replaced with OFM parts which are offered on the specific model of gun or another approved gun from the same manufacturer except as specifically clarified below. Examples of external components which may only be replaced with OFM parts include (but are not limited to): magazine releases, slide stops, thumb safeties and triggers."
  17. When you fit a new one you can take just enough off so it will function as a safety but take more pressure to engage. Also the slim one is the answer your looking for.
  18. I didn't. There isn't a lot of movement because you don't have the leverage of the handle
  19. Nope you have to keep a functional safety in its place
  20. If you already engaged it once would it matter if you shot at it again? Even if paper? "before engaging final target" so before the first shot at the last target?
  21. The stippling is ok. And if you can undercut the trigger guard and the finger groves it seems fine. But like they said above DNROI is the guy you want to talk to
  22. I'm going to say no dq. The shooter was allowed to make up a shot until if clear. It's not against the rules to shoot with out a mag in the gun. Unless it happened while he was taking the mag out, or when the slide closed it went off.. Your going to have a hard time proving he intended to do the opposite of what he said. As soon as the gun is back in battery is it still being unloaded? Unloading ....................... The removal of ammunition from a firearm. This action is completed when the firearm is empty of all ammunition and the magazine removed or cylinder opened and shown for inspection by a Range Officer.
  23. What sensors do you plan on using? I only have the deprime and primer level sensors and you wouldn't need to adjust those. I can't speak for the bullet or powder ones though
  24. As long as there isn't holes it's fine to mill the slide. If it goes all the way through its open.
  25. With the last range command being flag I don't know how you you from flagged to not flagged, but it isn't against the rules.
