  1. Read it over once or twice and you'll be fine. The class is basically going over the commonly used parts of the rule book. And going over how to run shooters, score targets, basic equipment rules. There is no pre test or anything. Even if you never run a stage it will help you have a better understanding of the rules so you don't get burned. I think everyone should take the class.
  2. It's also in the production Appendix. If it's legal in production it's legal in the other divisions. -Disabling of any external safety or externally operated safety "For purposes of this clause, a magazine disconnect is NOT considered a safety mechanism, and may be removed"
  3. If he wanted a reshoot for ro interference why did he go back and look at the steel? Why would you challenge the steel being in calibration when the best outcome is it fails is a reshoot? And then he arbed a dq that he didn't receive? I feel like something is missing. That order of events sounds wrong. Lots of people called for calibration on edge hits at area 5 and I only heard of one person getting lucky and having the steel stand.
  4. Yeah. Since you can change the base pads your free to alter the base pads as long as you still fit the box and make weight.
  5. I would think you'd lose that every time. It's the shooters job to make sure their equipment is legal. If you can't do that shoot a division where you can put it where ever you want. I give everyone a look on the first stage of the day, but I'm not lining shooters up and feeling for everyone hip bones.
  6. The match book shows the shooter meeting at 1145 and shooting at 1215
  7. Based on the way you said it, it sounds fine. He engaged the activator before shooting the star. 9.9.4 is the rule your referring to and the wsb really isn't wrote correctly to have that apply. Write better wsb, or build better stages? 9.9.4 Level I matches only - If the written stage briefing prohibits the engagement of certain targets prior to activation, the competitor will incur one procedural penalty per shot fired at such targets prior to operating the activating mechanism, up to the maximum number of avail-able hits (see Rule 2.1.8.5.1).
  8. My Lee dies do the same thing. It's probably worse with new brass, but it always does it.

I asked Troy about magnets in single stack a couple of months ago.. Troy is the bold. Both single stack and production say "Magazines may no be retained through magnetic means." pretty clear. Hello Troy,A shooter and I disagreed on if magazine pouches like this are allowed in single stack. My understanding is if it has a magnet and you use it during the course of fire your in open. Is this the correct way to apply the rule? Thanks, Matt Matt Yes, that's correct. However use of the magnet at any time will move you to Open. It's not restricted to during the course of fire. Ok to have it on your belt, but not ok to retain a magazine with it, period. Troy
  12. That's not against the rules in uspsa. Look up 10.4, it lists that things that are considered an accidentally discharge. Page 46 in the uspsa rulebook
  13. Or you could have used the same amount of time to load for the month instead of the week. I had the Hornady with a bullet feeder and case feeder, and every night before a match a was up late reloading ammo for the next day. I sold the feeders and bought a mark 7 1050, Reloaded all the brass I had over the winter and havnt had to worry about it for the last 4 months. What are your needs and how much is your time worth? That's really up to you. Even if you spent 1k on a set up.. You'll easily make that money back over the life of the press if you take care of it. Then when your done with it sell it for 80% of what you payed for it.
  14. Do a search of the Lee Press. I've never heard anyone say anything good about it. I was happy with my Hornady lock n load. Pretty much everything in reloading is a trade off between how fast you want to reload and how much you want to spend. How much is time spent at the press worth to you? Depending on my far you plan on going the dillion would be easier to add a bullet feeder and case feeder to. And it would sell faster/easier if you wanted to get rid of it
  15. When ever anyone talks about shooting a stock 3 in idpa they mention the weigh from the manufacturer is light. I would weight one before you spent all the money
  16. OFM parts which are offered on the specific model of gun or another approved gun from the same manufacturer are OFM parts which are offered on the specific model of gun or another approved gun from the same manufacturer. Ha
  17. If your going to get a double belt I would use the belt attachment and just leave it on all the time. That said ive used paddle holsters for the couple of idpa matches i've shot ,with a normal belt, and it worked fine. Either would be acceptable
  18. How many ranges can there be in the area? Unless they build a secret range in a cave somewhere.. Can't be that hard to find if you really wanted to shoot it
  19. When there was a discussion on if half cocked was hammer down I intentionally dropped my hammer from half on a live round to see it it would light it off. It did. I had a blood blister on my finger for about a week. Embarrassing, but not that bad. When I first started I watched people drop hammers om Beretta s and I remember commenting about how that would make me nervous. I've shot a stock 3 for a year and a half and once you do it in dry fire a handful of times it's not a big deal
  20. I don't think there is a division where iron sights are required? Recommend defiantly.
  21. At a local match where I wasn't the ro for our squad we had 3 or 4 newer guys with us. Every time they had a malfunction/reloaded one of them had their finger in the trigger guard. So after we would tell them that they should be dqed for it and allow them to keep shooting. Then the next stage a different people would do the same thing. That was the last time, if you do it you own your dq. I always ask when people are new if they understand the safety rules. If people don't come back because they got dqed they wouldn't have came back when they messed up the next match either
  22. Sounds like you had someone that wasn't familiar with our rule book. Someone else working the stage should have known better and brought it the the MD attention
  23. It was my understanding that they do and that's how things like the Titan hammer were production legal right when they came out. I wonder what the burden of proving its offered from the factory is? Do I need an email from Eric? From Tanfoglio? Im not trying to argue with you. He said it was offered from the factory and I believed him because I didn't have a reason not to. But now your making me nervous.
  24. https://www.ericgrauffelonlineshop.com/en/frame-parts/494-safety-flush-.html?search_query=safety&results=32 Eric has them in the section of oem parts. I emailed him when they first came out and he said they were offered from the factory and legal in production. Just like the Delta/Titan hammers and everything else they make
