You can peen he top of the left leg of the spring and it will flatten it out a smidge and in doing so it will increase the length enough to work.

11lb is what I would try. 10 is probably a little light.

That sv probably runs 7500$

All you have to do is take the grips off and look at the top of the break. The rolled piece at the top should be facing away from the mags.

Is the mag brake in the correct way.

I want to to try Accurate # 7. I hear it’s really close to 3n38 and half the price. Anyone use that and if so what do you think.

Probably not inserting the mags in just right. I’ve wedged them in their too but never had to hammer them out. Plastic grips are more forgiving than metal so if my reloads aren’t good this will happen. It’s the only downside to metal grips. I shoot a lot of production so my reloads are pretty descent.

I had mine ceracoated black and it turned out pretty good and hasn’t really worn at all surprisingly.

Are you sure your scale is set to grains and not grams ? Seen that happen before but I would think if that’s the case the powder would be spilling out the case mouth.

20 here in Mississippi for the low and 32 for a high. It’s sucks being this cold. It’s normally around 50 to 60 here this time of year. Y’all can have the cold. I’ll take 95 degrees and 100% humidity anyday.

Taran pads are good but their customer svc is about as bad as it gets. Grams springs and followers and his customer svc is phenomenal. Dawson pads are pretty good until the locking plate won’t come off unless you bang it on something.

I think welding is the long term solution. Heard of ppl filling the holes with screws but I’m not to sure how that would hold up. How far back are they in the barrel and what kinda shield are you using.

I’d be careful running it with a 7lb spring. Make sure it’s not to hot a load and not beating the gun up. Might try an aluminum shock buff with a 7 and after 500 or so rounds check the buff and see if it’s taking a beating. Just my opinion though.

I’d go with Wilson 1st then egw or PT depending on how much you want to spend. The Wilson ones I have on a SS are really comfortable. I have lsi, and ed browns on other guns and have used pt in the past and I like the Wilson best because they don’t dig in to the knuckle on my trigger finger. I’ve trimmed up a few but didn’t have to do anything but fit the wilsons.

I’d forget the Ed Brown safeties too. I just fit some to an open gun this week and their not that great. I’m having the same problem with one of my guns and was hoping the brown safeties wouldn’t dig in to my knuckle as much but they do. I might reduce them some but I’m thinking Wilson high ride is what I’ll use.

Since the gun runs I wouldn’t mess with it. It will free up after you’ve put some rounds through it. FWIW, I think a 17lb hammer spring should ignite any of quality primer. Are you sure your primers were seated deep enough. Might try the 17 again and see how it acts.

I use the 223 shell plate and have no problems. Are you sure your pulling the rod down and pushing it up enough when priming. Ive short stroked it before and had this happen. As long as I’m consistent with the rod it works as advertised.

I’ve fit 3 in my guns with evo grips. 2 weren’t to bad as far as removing material but the 3rd one I had to take a good bit off. I think on the 3rd I had a newer sv trigger and it was wider than the previous 2. It’s easy to do just takes patience. File a little and see if it fits etc.....

I think the tall extended egw ejector is like 36$. So it’s not a huge loss.

I just fit one to an sv slide and there was basically no gap. On another gun the gap is minimal. Your pic shows a pretty large gap. Being a Brazos slide and ejector I would think it would be a better fit.

I have one and it was dead on last I checked. It’s probably a couple years old. I have small weights that I check it with periodically

I have an sv ibf slide and I use the 9mm BF for Comp. I have weird issues every now and then. I got this gun used so i wasn’t sure the 9 BF was correct. The gun has never had a stoppage but 2-3 pieces out of 300 have their case mouth chewed up.

Does sv use a 38 sc breech face or a 9mm

I’ve loaded both with 3n38 and through my chrono there was no noticeable difference. They were all pretty close as far as FPS. I think starline probably makes it for Atlanta arms

I think it should definitely be operative on a single stack. You will have a lot of mag changes and possibly run dry on steel especially. In open and limited you should never really run dry so have a slide stop that doesn’t work is not a big deal.
