  1. I've got a geissele SSA-E in my colt 9mm AR. I've run about 750 rounds through it and so far so good.
  2. I thought I saw a communication from HQ somewhere indicating that the spec for BUG would be adjusted slightly so the shield would fit.
  3. We have a matte stainless with the high beavertail.
  4. Our slides drop with a good firm seating of the magazine so loads are very quick.
  5. My son and I are leftys. We have shadows. I shoot an sp 01 and he shoots a 75. We have reversed mag releases. I agree with rowdy's recommendation, a 75 shadow is hard to beat for someone who isn't a brute.
  6. I just received a P 01 omega. It feels very nice in the hand. However, the trigger leaves something to be desired. I ordered a parts kit from CGW that I will in all likelihood install before its first range visit. CGW's parts transformed my P 07's trigger.

    PCC carbine

Those will be cool once they are actually available. The one I'd want has a plain barrel without the faux suppressor. Stuart, any ETA?
  8. The razor is in a different league optically. It is hard to shoot lower end glass once you try truly high end glass.
  9. The bushing guns would more likely be legal if all shadow 2s were built with the bushing. As a custom feature on show guns, they are not going to be production or IDPA legal. The guns look excellent but I'm asking myself are they just the latest and greatest or do they offer enough advantage over my tried, true, and tuned shadows for me to pony up the cash? I suppose I'll get to decide when they actually are available.
  10. It would be a lot more interesting if it came stock with the bushing.

    Shadow mag release

Blue Loctite after cleaning threads thoroughly.
  12. Joe, I have been trying to have a holster made for my subcompact. Its a very nice carry piece that I can't find anything to carry in. Milt Sparks says they have been promised and are waiting on a pistol to use to make a form. Do you have an update as to status?
  13. Really? I thought that running a short disco (like a pre-B ) would not allow enough reset for the FPB lifter. You can, but the reset will not be quite as short as achievable in a shadow. I compete with my modified shadow and have a heavily modified SP 01 as a back up. The modified FPB equipped SP 01 is very nearly as good as the shadow. I ran about 1000 rounds through it a few months back in a Seeklander course and can say it is wonderful. But, I would advise that you buy a shadow first, a safety equipped SP 01 second, and a decocker equipped SP 01 a distant last. You can learn to drop a hammer manually with 100% confidence with very little practice. And, it is easier and less expensive to tweak a shadow than a FPB equipped piece. I'm betting you would have nearly as much in a fully breathed on FPB equipped SP 01 as in a tweaked base shadow. In addition to slight trigger advantages, and higher residual value, the shadow is easier to work on, eg if you want to remove the firing pin.
  14. They are beautifully built. I like my subcompact and it works very nicely for a lefty. I'm looking forward to somebody actually making a nice holster for it--milt sparks is waiting on a gun to use as a mold--but the lack of currently available holsters and spare parts is a concern. Kriss USA has not been overly impressive.
  15. You definitely want a true 1x on the low end. I have both 1 and 1.5x scopes. When you look at specs, its easy to think that there isn't much difference between 1x and 1.5x. However, when you look through the scopes, there is a significant difference. 1.5x simply will not allow you to shoot quickly with both eyes open at close targets.
  16. I bought an armalite a year or so ago. Mine has a 20" barrel. I added a free float handguard and a jp trigger. It is big but it shoots very well.
  17. Where? CZ USA. It isnt cheap You will also need a different mag release. There exists a kit for the TS that comes with grips and the release. When I got my TS, the kit was installed. It took me a while to figure out why the TS mags I bought didn't work.
  18. Not sure, but fitting the T3 is not hard, at all. If you're thinking about making a disco swap, def go with the T3. It really depends on the stacked tolerances of the gun. I've never tried a t3 but I had to remove some materials from the other types to get them to fit. At other times they just drop in.
  19. CGW trigger pin is a nice piece, although I'm also a fan of the CZC higher power TRS because of the snappy return, adjustable sear is a real nice addition, detent springs and detents because they sometimes disappear and its nice to have spares in hand, appropriate type disconnector, I have a couple shadows as well as a fully tuned sp 01 with FPB and with a nicely fit cgw disconnector its amazing how close the trigger return is to a shadow with a tuned disconnector. Also get some no. 9 pins.
  20. Dave at CGW used to offer one. I have two sets, one on my 97BE and one on my CZC custom compact. I have some pictures up on the CZC site. Do a search using my name there, twowheels (same as here). I haven't had any problems with them. The left side shaft is D shaped and protrudes slightly from the frame on the right side. The right side safety presses on to the D shaped shaft and affixes with a very small hex head bolt. Dave stopped offering them. It would be better to mill the frame etc but it would cost a lot more.
  21. I think its conversion to progressive angst and once you become comfortable with and understand the 650 you will learn to love its efficiency and precision. I am able to load .308 on my 650 that shoots under 1 moa all day in my tikka sporter. The ammo that comes off the 650 is fantastic.
  22. I've had luck putting the frame in a padded vice, putting a good fitting screwdriver on the screw, applying pressure from the top, and turning the screwdriver with a crescent wrench. I've had the screws make an audible pop as they break free.

    P-09 Tuning Info

Compact mags work in my P 07 duty (first generation) but full length mags don't lock in. I don't have a P 09. Yet.
  24. I've got a custom sp 01 shadow, a stock 75 shadow that I've worked over myself, and an sp 01 (with fpb) that I've worked over myself with about all the aftermarket parts possible, among other CZs. The 75 shadow I've worked on (polishing, short reset disconnector, lighter springs, extended fp) is every bit as good as the CZC custom shadow, into which I've also installed a short reset disconnector and to which I've done considerable polishing and spring tuning. Don't overthink this, I like all of my CZs. Before buying my first one, I had considerable internal debate over whether to go with fixed or adjustable sights, an SP 01 or a 75 shadow, a stock or custom shadow, etc. After my first CZ (SP 01 custom shadow), I bought many other variations and am happy with all of them. My suggestion is to find and buy yourself a stock shadow with fixed sights and do further work on it yourself. Its nice to learn to work on your own CZs. Its not too hard. And you will learn what functional differences result from various parts and tuning techniques. Inevitably, you will make changes to whatever you buy. You will no doubt end up with a number of different gripsets until you find your favorites as well as different sight sets. You will also most likely experiment with different recoil and main springs. You may try some different triggers and different safeties. You also will want to know how to change trigger return springs. And while the gun is apart you may as well do some polishing. Once you get to that point, installing different hammers, sears and disconnectors is straighforward. And you will probably ask yourself at that point, why did I spend an extra $400 for a custom?
  25. I am pretty sure the custom shadow is IDPA legal as long as it has fixed sights. The adjustable sight models have milled slides which renders them not IDPA legal. IMO the fixed sight is the way to go in any event.
