  1. Good choice on the EGW parts. They make a great platform for great triggers.
  2. Backwards bullets and no primers. That’s an epic Trojan!
  3. This is why I love this sport, so many people in the sport that will bend over backwards to help you out if you truly need it! Just last weekend a guy showed up but forgot his ammo and 2 or 3 guys offered up enough for him to shoot if he wanted. Congrats on on the new 34 though.
  4. Just as others have said, if you want to start just start. Don’t worry about all the extra gear that people may have, just pick a gun your comfortable shooting, have a holster and mag pouches for, and just focus on being safe and having fun. All of the extra stuff will come as you learn more about the sport and which divisions you want to shoot. One of the best things you can do is listen and watch other shooters do their stage breakdowns, you’ll pick up on a lot this way. You can also ask questions but take everything with a grain of salt, theres some not so great shooters that will try to pass on their knowledge as well. Good luck and welcome, this is a great sport and very addicting!
  5. Great choice. I don’t think you would have gone wrong either way but the ease of 9mm defensive ammo availability and test data is a huge advantage.
  6. I wore Salomon’s for quite a few years but hated how quickly they’d wear out so I recently picked up a pair of baseball cleats. So far I’m loving them, hard to beat 40 bucks and they grip into everything.
  7. Another vote for the Safariland’s. They’ve worked well for me for years.
  8. Love the blue accents! Good choice.
  9. I went back and forth on shielded - non shielded for awhile because it never seemed to be an issue but since going shielded I’ll never go back on my limited/open guns.
  10. Light film of Red’N’Tacky on slide, lugs, and barrel. Oil on the link and occasionally on slide to thin it out when it’s a little colder.
  11. Why wait? There’s some great matches in the SW area.
  12. Welcome! I’m in Tampa area. I think reloading is always in your best interest if your gonna get serious about this sport. Not only do you get to shoot a lot more for the same money but you can tailor your load to your preferences and then tailor the gun to that load.
  13. If you have issues with the Wilson you can try and find the sti extended one. It worked well on my Trojan 40 and I’ve used it on almost everything since then.
  14. That’s a great looking pistol, I think you’ll really like the tech well aggressive panels, I used those for many years on my SS guns.
  15. Haha yea I have a holosun with the auto on/off and I don’t think I’ve ever seen it off, never changed the batteries but by the time I open the safe the dot is already on.
  16. What are the differences between v4 and v5?
  17. I know you didn’t list them but I’ve been using safariland in both SS and open. Never had an issue with them. Might be worth a look.
