  1. I’ve been running the same DAA outer belt for about 5 years and haven’t had an issue. I love the cr speed inner DAA outer combo. Im not a big fan of how thin the DAA inner is.
  2. Another vote for WAC. Everglades 124gr 7.2gr WAC @ 1.165 Shorty gun at 1350 Feels great to me.
  3. Egw undersized die, Dillon seater and crimp dies
  4. I love my Trojan in 40. Shot it in SS for 7 years and still going strong.
  5. Welcome to the light! Are you shooting GA State?
  6. I assume these cuts are from Caspian?
  7. As far as your question about optics, I just made the jump to open myself and have found that the cmore slide ride has been amazing. I have a shorty and the dot tracks very well for me, I like the big glass for seeing a lot. If you go the slide ride route I’d recommend the aluminum click version. I’ve played with both and the aluminum click is superior to the plastic non-click. To be fair I don’t have too much experience with the other optics common in open but I’ve been happy so far.
  8. +1 for this. I’ve talked with him a few times and he’s always responded very quickly.
  9. No problem, I appreciate the help though.
  10. I’m new to open and this may be a dumb question but is there any reason why a shorty open gun with a full size recoil rod not be able to use a tool-less guide rod? Ive always had one and would like to ditch my paper clip haha. Thanks!
  11. Thanks for the tips, sounds like I’ll run it as is and if I have issues pick one up.
  12. So I’ve just moved to open and am starting to load for 9 major and have settled on a 124gr jhp and WAC load but am wondering if I should be using a EGW undersize die. I used them for my 40 loads and have Dillon dies for 9mm but should I add an undersize die? Thanks!
  13. Just put these on my limited gun, so far they’ve been awesome!
  14. Love my PT Evo! I'm a fan of aggressive grips and this is the king of the mountain when it comes to grip aggressiveness. At least from what I've felt so far.
  15. Another vote for EGW, both my 1911/2011 have EGW parts. Good crisp triggers.
  16. I’ve always been a fan of the EGW parts, while not drop in, they’re very good.
  17. Makes sense, thanks everyone for the advice, I’ll pull the pin and make sure before I try to peen it. I’ll let you know how it goes. Thanks!
  18. So I’ve been shooting 19/2011’s for years and just recently noticed that on my limited gun the rear sight hinge pin is starting to walk itself out of the sight after a few stages. I haven’t dealt with this in any other gun and not sure if I can fix it or if I just need a new sight? Thanks for the help!
  19. I know this is an old thread but just found it. You mentioned maybe using it for SS in USPSA and if you do, you can have any internal lightening on the slide like mentioned above under the rear sight or firing pin channel like you can on a limited or open gun.
  20. I have a STI Trojan and Springfield RO and use a Comptac 1911 holster. Both guns fit like it should. I think that as long as you get a traditional 5" 1911 holster you'll be set. I would recommend comptac or bladetech, I've heard great things about RHT but don't have any experience.
  21. +1 for Tripp. I've been running the same set of 8 System mags with the hybrid follower for my 40 for the last 4 years and have never had a problem no matter what bullet shape (mostly 180's though). I too have the Dawson higher mag catch though, it was suggested to me to put in before I ever even fired a round so that's what I did. YMMV.
