  1. I disengage the saftey as soon as the gun has cleared the holster and is coming up to the target. I’ve dryfired it so much that it’s muscle memory and I couldn’t pin point the exact moment it happens but it’s probably somewhere around a 45 degree angle just because I’m moving the gun and my support hand so fast for that first shot.
  2. Definitely worth the money, all of my 2011/1911's have them. Some people say that the bearing will come out and to just get the regular bar but I've never had a problem in the many thousands I've run with them.
  3. Just want to say thanks for help, but I just recently picked up a Range Officer in 9mm to shoot SS minor but I've noticed that occasionally the mag follower will popup next to or over the slide stop and causing the mag to stick, the mags are the new gen Wilson ETM mags and the slide stop is the factory Springfield. My question is does anyone have this problem or know what the fix is? Are other slide catches wider to engage the follow more to prevent it from slipping over? Thanks!
  4. You may want to post a WTB ad in the classifieds section...might get more response.
  5. Techwell TGO for me, wide open funnel with an open front in case you need to swipe a mag out. Hands down the best I've tried!
  6. Completely normal, just don't pick your nose while you load...
  7. image.png So I'm assuming that as long as the gun is being that line, your in compliance?
  8. I believe so. But I can't see why it's so hard. The hip bone is actually pretty far forward. All you have to do is find it and put your gear behind it. This is how my gear is set up, but because the holster sits more forward than on my side i get questions allot but this was the first time someone had said something about a rule change. This is what I was looking for, Thank you!
  9. Hello, I was at a match last weekend and another shooter mentioned that the rules for holster and mag placement had recently been changed, that it no longer goes off of the hip bone. After looking through the new rule book and the recent amendments I still cant seem to find it, can someone point out the new rule or where to find it, or just let me know that this guy is mistaken. Thanks for the help! Brian
  10. Tr-topping is a legal way to lighten a slide in S. S. So what is the performance benefit? Lighter side means you can make weight easier with a 9mm, it also means less mass reciprocating which when sprung right means less recoil, not that 9mm in a 1911 had tremendous recoil to begin with.
  11. If you go to loading long 40 I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by how soft shooting you can get 40 with the right powder.
  12. I run Tripp Corey mags and have probably close to ~10k on them now and have never had a single mag issue that I could actually blame the mag for. Ive only ever had one mag not drop free, but that's because I was dropping them in mud since it had just finished raining, cleaned them up and wiped out the magwell and grip and back running. Im probably going to change out the springs here in the near future just for peace of mind.
  13. I use the Tripp Corey mags and have run both long and short 40 through them, I only load long now but I had some leftover short 40 for my 24 and was curious one day to see if they would go and they fed perfectly. ymmv.
  14. Ill double check that but it doesn't look out of line, thanks for the idea though!
  15. Ill have to take a look at it tonight and make sure nothing isnt out of square, thanks! Yea, i ordered that extended plate so I think while im waiting for it to come in im going to polish the sides and bottom of the bar just to make sure, cant hurt anything, Thanks.
  16. Awesome thanks for the link, that extended plate makes allot of sense.
  17. Ive noticed recently that im getting my primer bar stuck in the rearward position more and more lately, If I take the primer system apart and clean it, it works again but only for 1-200 rounds before it starts sticking again, it didnt use to do this, the press probably has between 15-20k+ rounds loaded on it. Do i need to polish everything, replace the return spring, I'm at my whits end with it having to stop and release it forward without letting the new primer fly out. Any suggestions would be great!
  18. This is what my smith did to my SS, works great and never have to worry about it.
  19. Awesome, thank for the reply looks like Im just worrying about something that isnt a big deal. Thats a pretty interesting way of solving the problem, not sure if its a good idea for me since my gun has already been chromed and runs fine the way it is but maybe on the next. Thanks for the info!
  20. I've noticed for awhile that when I pull my slide to the rear and not just let go but gently release the slide I can feel it hangup for a second when it hits the disconnector, after looking at it the other day I noticed that where the slide meets it there is a little bit of a lip before it hits the ramp of the disconnector. Should i worry about this or just continue to shoot it the way it is? Can I just file it down a little bit and then polish it? Also, I've been looking at changing it out for either the extreme disconnector or the race disconnector, is there a benefit of one or the other? Thanks in advance!
  21. Double post, sorry
  22. I would look at used Vortex Razor gen 1, their out there and sometimes you can find them for a great price, i just picked one up for 1350 shipped. Great glass and with Vortex's warranty used isn't an issue.
