  1. The Gov't profile is also turned down under the handguards and is pretty light. I like it and don't think it's too heavy.
  2. I think that I'm still not getting my question right. Assume you have an AR-15 with a 18" - 24" barrel, a rifle length gas system and an A2 stock. If you remove the stock, buffer tube, spring, and buffer, and replace them with a carbine length buffer tube, spring, buffer, and collapsible stock, what effect will that have on the action? In other words, a rifle upper on a lower with a carbine telescoping stock. If that's what you're talking about, I've done it and it works fine.
  3. Cool - thanks for posting. Where did you buy the set up?

Tiger actually said he was a "Booty-ist"
  5. Click this link Adams Arms install and find the "installation video". It's on how to install a AR piston kit, but it covers how to remove the front sight.
  6. Tim - what's the anticipated price point on the upper and mags? Thx.
  7. Agreed. 5shot, I have a used MSTN Q comp that I'm not using. I'll sell if for 1/2 the new price. Drop me a PM if you're interested. Here's the link: My link
  8. OK - I'm really late to the party. If the goal is to INCREASE TURN OUT IN LIMITED, then I agree with SinisterRifleman - let 1x scopes play. For all the reasons discussed, LTD is a HARD division. It will not attract new, novice shooters. However tons of shooters have red dots on their rifles. IIRC, the std issue in the US Army is an M4 with an Aimpoint. Ironically, even though this is a very common set up (possibly the most common), a 1x red dot is not well represented in our sport at most matches with real distance shots. Personally, I think distance shots are easier with irons than red dots - assuming you know your zeros.
  9. What was the interference/fit up issue and what had to be done to fix it? Thanks, Hoover Yeah - what was the problem and what was the fix? Inquiring minds want to know
  10. I'd shave down the front sight base and throw a JP rifle length FF tub on it. IMO it improves handling over those short carbine handguards tremendously.

    Glock 22 or 35

I agree with this. I like how the G22 cycles and balances better than the G35. I made M with the G22 in LTD, but that was a few years back The longer sight radius means nothing to me. YMMV. The only plus is that the G35 is easier to make major.
  12. “The True Gentleman is the man whose conduct proceeds from good will and an acute sense of proprietary, and whose self control is equal to all emergencies; who does not make the poor man conscious of his poverty, the obscure man of his obscurity, or any man of his inferiority or deformity; who is himself humbled if necessity compels him to humble another; who does not flatter wealth, cringe before power or boast of his own possessions or achievements; who speaks with frankness but always with sincerity and sympathy; whose deeds follows his word; who thinks of the rights and feelings of others, rather than his own; and who appears well in any company, a man with whom honor is sacred and virtue safe.“ John Walter Wayland (Virginia 1899)
  13. The Aimpoint Micro is a fine sight, but not exactly small as compared to the Jpoint, Fastfire, etc.
  14. I'm doing that tomorrow morning with a Gen 3 17 and 22 and a Gen 4 17 and 22. I'll let you know what happens. I've shot both the 22 and 17 Gen 4's before. I like them but I haven't had a chance to do a side by side yet. Cool - please let us know - preferably in a stand-alone (new) thread.

  16. Sorry to hear this BJ. I've block a couple discs and feel your pain. You are a young man - take care of your back so it doesn't haunt you later.

  18. That's awesome! Best wishes for the project.
  19. I have a great 16" middy, lightweight barreled upper from CMMG - love it. I just looked at their site - and I don't think they make them anymore.
  20. Blake - how 'bout a pic of Wally.
  21. Very Cute! How big will the Toy Aussie Shepard get? We also have a Corgi. Molly is 7 now and spunky as ever. Here's Molly with our Great Dane Samson (RIP). Here's our big puppy Sophie. She's a 9 month old Dane.
