Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Howard, Is there anyway we could not do registration on the first day of SMM3G? Will make it very difficult for those of us shooting that match. JD
  2. Due to my work schedule I need to have ammo boxed up and ready to ship Monday the 14th.... A round count would be greatly appreciated, usually have rifle and pistol covered, need to know about slugs and buck.....
  3. Just saying.... I don't see any 30+ round shotgun stages with an empty start.....
  4. After looking at the stages, kinda wish I had a X-Rail uber high cap shotgun like the match director...... Just saying....
  5. My load is a 69gr SMK, 22.9gr IMR 8208XBR, Remington brass and Remington 7 1/2 BR primer. Out of my 20" match gun they are running 2825 fps, I never check the velocity on the 16" barrels. James
  6. Nordic sent me one each of the Wilson and Lilja. To be honest, after shooting both I can’t tell much difference between the two other than the Lilja has the M4 cuts. Both shot between .5 and .75 MOA with the loads I tried and they both weigh the same. James
  7. I've got to go with Jamie on the Vortex Razor, shot one at the Texas 2-gun match and was very happy with the scope. I've tried the Leupold 1.5 x 5, the 1.5 on the bottom just doesn't work for close, fast shooting. I have a Leupold 1.1 x 8 CQBSS and although 8 power is nice the added bulk and the amount of rotation needed to sweep from low to high is just too much for a truly fast change. And to tell you the truth the Vortex glass is better in my opinion than the CQBSS glass. James
  8. Both are great rifles, but the 3G1 is set up to be a 3-gun/multi-gun from the get go, having the 18" barrel with rifle gas system, VTAC hand guard and Magpul CTR stock is a great way to get started.
  9. After talking with most of the open guys last weekend I don't think it's going to be much of a problem for them, most if not all said they will sit this one out. Getting 6 guns and ammo to Vegas and back (very expensive, paperwork hassles shipping them in and it may not be legal to transfer a pistol out of state even though you own it), $150 match fee and coming off three days of shooting open then switching gears to shoot guns we normally don't shoot. Wouldn’t be as big a deal if there was no shotgun loading, actually there is so little real difference other that the shotgun, that it wouldn’t matter. Getting knocked out of it quickly due to not being up to speed with tactical stuff that the guys who shoot tactical got to play with all weekend is just an exercise in futility and not worth the all the hassle and expense. Guess it comes down to who is best in one division (tactical), not who is the best 3-gun shooter.
  10. Will points be awarded for the Blue Ridge? Some, like myself, will not be able to make it to more than three of the qualifying events and I hope we are not just automatically out due to the weather at Blue Ridge. JD
  11. The 50 rnd is a gotta have, borrowed one from a friend yesterday until mine shows. Writing your name on the burm with a Nordic AR22 is more fun than writing your name in the snow
  12. Tim, seems no one has noticed the stock on the one Kenny's shooting.....
  13. This one has a 16" semi-heavy barrel, if I close my eyes I can't tell it from a standard M-4.
