Expensive - yes. I still want to shoot the piss out of one and see what it's all about Are there patents that would keep other manufacturers from entering the market on rifles, parts, etc? For most 3-gun matches, they are probably fine. RM3G in Raton and BR3G in Kentucky, might be tough. The FN squad struggled on the long range rifle targets (300 to 600) but did fine on the ones that were under 300. There is a lot of difference between a 10" plate at 200 and a 12" plate at 425. Their reloads looked a little clumsier and slower than the AR reloads, but a reload on a 100 plus second stage is not a big factor either way. Are the SCAR's less accurate than a good AR?

I'm with RS. Allow 1x optics in LTD. Leave TO alone. TO is by far the most popular and competitive division based on the sheer # of talented shooters participating at most matches. I'm sure there are exceptions . . . LTD is under represented and participated. Allowing 1x optics will breathe life into that division. Good irons are superior to a RD at 100+ IMO. Why not let them in LTD?

I work for myself and my computer is my life - at least my business life. I always buy IBM [Lenovo] ThinkPads. I've had really good luck with them and that's what I'll buy again. I have questions on the OS and memory. They all come with Vista Business. My questions are: * I've heard that some people have a lot of problems with Vista and "downgrade" to XP. Do I need to do this? Is the whole thing overblown? * Both OS's come with a free upgrade to Windows 7. That's set to ship in late Oct. I can't wait that long because my hard drive is full.

Not sure if this counts, but I shoot a Liberty Shoofly .22 can on my Savage MKII almost everyday in my backyard at 50 yards at little spinning steel targets. Love it!

So conventional wisdom is that a bolt gun is more accurate. For shooting long range steel plates, how much does it matter in semi .308 vs. bolt .308 for accuracy? Not group shooting, mind you. Does anyone shoot and do well at long range steel matches with semi's? I have a nice 700 - but I really like the DPMS long range .308 AR's. Can't afford both . . .

A decent folding knife is always in good taste in my book.

There's a major RN shortage in the US. Once you get the degree, you can work in most towns in the country. I'm not an RN, but if there's one undergrad degree that guarantees you work and decent pay - that's it. Now that the socialists want government to take over medicine - who knows . . .
