  1. I had to put GI guide rods and an Aluminum Dawson Ice magwell on both my SA 9mm and a Colt Framed Custom to get them to make weight. the thicker BBL in the 9's is what I think causes the extra weight in them vs. the 45's
  2. The two cases (10,000) I've used worked fine. Stock striker spring in the gun Apex trigger parts no adverse effects to the breech face wsf powder and 125 HAP's and MG's
  3. I've shoot a bunch of old 160's uncoated (from the old single stack non optic open days) I had sitting around. they didn't tumble, 3" accuracy which is the normal out of the gun I tried them in. Used Universal and TG, both were very soft when I order again gonna buy 500 to diddle with
  4. Shoot 180's MG or HAP's in my limited gun 200's Bayou's in a single stack just rebarreled. got 2200 through the SS gun and its a real nice load shoots accurate and is a little more comfortable than the 180 load. Cycles the slide fine (colt 9mm Slide that was opened up years ago to make a 10mm, no cuts, SS gun) the BUT is the 200 gr load is a different powder WST So there is no way I can say for sure if it's the bullet weight or the powder Use titegroup in my limited gun
  5. Blue Dot has good acuracy and velocity in my 10's BUT its dirty Lowest charge of titegroup listed with 180 HAP give 174 PF in my stuff and keeps the indoor range people happy in general
  6. Dan Bedell recommends it for his custom built limited guns! I personally don't know why but he is a well respected gunsmith for uspsa!?!?!
  7. Super fine emery then blend it with scotch brite go easy to find out what you need to do IT'll blend in I go over my whole gun at the end of the season
  8. Might try resetting your powder measure / belling die to the least amount to get the bullet in. I load 200 bayou's and thats the way my 550 is set up and the bullets are very accurate. Might be worth a try
  9. Started with one on my open gun and liked it. So put one on my limited gun for consistency. I'm using gogas pedals. I like'm But Single Stack takes a few dryfire sessions to get back in the habit of roling my lt hand forward again. Neil
  10. Hope yours runs as well as mine has. Only thing I've done is aftec extractor, adjust the trigger, and a Dawson Ice magwell It keeps running and running. B class shooter, when I hit A I'm gonna play with lighting the slide maybe.
  11. Complete detail strip every part out of the gun, grip off ! Everything apart very case of MG 3750 rounds. Clean it top end off slide, bbl all the stuff I can get to with slide off every 700-1000. Lube with a drop in each rail slot and a drop behind comp. works for me!
  12. It sure does make the machine run smooth when the cases are lubed. I run mine through the tumbler for a while, like Pat M said my media is small enough it doesn't stick in the JHP's I've left it on and the gun seems to run fine. After its on for a while seems to get a little sticky feeling but still runs. for me it just makes me feel uncomfortable with ammo that feels sticky so I don't leave it on any more
  13. I sure y'all have lots more level III match experience than I do. The matches I've been to have not stored ammo out in the sun so I don't test it that way. When I start seeing that done at the matches I go to, I will start testing that way. Sorry you went minor, that sucks no matter how it happened! Again like the original post said not look for a Thread fight just sharing what I found. If you found different so be it. Lets face it everybody should be testing their own ammo anyway so they have confidence in it. With the shortage of components its not like a lot of guys can just jump to another powder. My hope is this find all y'all well as we approach this weekend and especially Sunday! God Bless jcc7x7
  14. Read the post ammo was on the bench outside for a hour prior to shooting it
  15. Make sure you are current with the gun you're going to shoot at bigger matches
  16. If you don't understand what it does, there is a fairly good chance you don't need it.
  17. Lyman for everyday use Dead wgts haven't been out of the box for years
  18. Extreme shooters (I think) has grips that are stippled and painted and if I remember correctly they will do colors that you want. Custom for you
  19. Old standard load with 200 gr H&B 68 SWC was 1.250 at least some went longer Most SWC follow this basic bullet design cause it works Seems like you've figured it out I load as long as I can and still have the round come out fo the ejection port when showing clear etc. 230 RN are 1.255-1,260 200SWC are 1.250-1.255
  20. I went TruBor while some other guys I know went custom "Bedell". Theirs are great guns but none of them or me can shoot to the ability of the gun, i.e. custom I shoot high B class field course scores at my local club and ranked the same with it. I've been allowed to shoot some of the masters guns and at my skill level I don't do any better with the custom guns, but they sure are nice and as should be slicker!!!! Starting out a used gun from a local club member may be a good choice or a TruBor to get your feet wet and as said before would make a great back up gun when you take the plunge to custom. With your budget you might contact Dan Bedell and get a price from him on a custom, by the time its done you'll have figured out open with a used TruBor and still be under budget. Think Bedell's guns are about 4k but call him. He is well respected and is currently the guy build Max Michelles guns Good fortune in open jcc7x7
