  1. Also check out Induro carbon fiber tripods. They have replaced many Gitzos with wildlife photographers. https://www.indurogear.com/
  2. If you want a big field of view ... have you considered a C-More? You can go from a 2 MOA dot up to a 16 MOA dot module.
  3. This is usually caused by a buffer speed issue. Mine was too light. The usual successful buffer & bolt combo seems to be around 18-20 ounces. Plenty of threads about PCC bolt & buffer weight combinations. I would first test with factory ammo to remove one variable from the equation.
  4. Henning recommended this guy to me for Tanfo work: Jim Jones @ https://jandlgunsmithing.com/
  5. Never heard of them. Just curious ... why did you order this brand with a 2 month wait versus any other brand which is immediately available?
  6. Have you considered getting prescription shooting glasses? Seems like it would be a simpler solution. For example: https://www.sportrx.com/shopby/best_sports-shooting.html
  7. Nate - read the info in this thread ... including my comments near the bottom of the thread. http://forums.brianenos.com/topic/258139-which-magwell-adapter/?tab=comments#comment-2875702
  8. When the bullets start to tumble. I have more than 7,000 rounds of jacketed rounds on my Wilson Arms 7.5" barrel with no signs of deterioration.
  9. Do it yourself. I did my GP100 years ago following the Iowegan's Gun Guide from the Ruger forums. It's out of print but you can follow these sites: http://www.sp101trigger.com/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0jFwUq_-VU Grant Cunningham is the Ruger trigger guru but I don't know if he's still accepting gunsmith work. When he was doing trigger jobs people were waiting more than a year to get their's done which seems pretty ridiculous to me.
  10. Using the 2018 US Steel Nationals as an example for my most recent 5320: Block 5: Participation on the US Steel National Shooting Championships Block 7: South River Gun Club 5205 Highway 212 N. Covington, GA 30016 FYI - The ATF approved & returned mine in about 3 weeks.
  11. J - thanks for performing the comparison. I look forward to viewing the results.
  12. I'm running a different red dot but I just ordered a 1/2" riser for my AR9.
  13. Please post your results. I'm also considering that ammo.
  14. Brian - which PSA buffer? Looks like they list a 10 oz and an 8 oz on their AR9 parts list.
  15. Keep us updated after you run 500 rounds through it. I have some interest in the Guard ... but I have no interest in having to "tune" a $1,000+ AR9.
  16. This is also how I do it. IMHO it's the safest and most consistent method. I don't have an ambi safety so I use my weak hand trigger finger to operate the safety. Practice practice.
  17. No, but Robin at TF had to file & smooth the bottom front of the follower to get it to feed properly and host 42 rounds.
  18. I've used the Spike's Tactical bottom loader, and the Hahn top loader. I believe top loaders are a safer and a less troublesome design. With any of the bottom loaders, the mag block is held is place by the mag catch, and the 1 or 2 containment pins. When those pins get a bit loose, the only thing holding the mag block in place is the mag catch. With loose pins the mag block can also move around and cause mag related feed problems. This scenario happened to me years ago with a bottom loader with a tons of rounds through it so the containment pins loosened a bit: Unload & show clear Press the mag catch to drop the mag, and the mag block also falls out (oh crap I might need that later) Now you have no ejector cuz the mag block is gone and the ejector is part of the mag block You rack the bolt as you've done a thousand times (remember no ejector now) Unlike all of the 223 you've shot lately, there's now a 9mm round still in the bolt cuz you had no ejector You drop the hammer and congrats ... you've just been DQ'd. If you buy a bottom loader, just remember to check the pin/screw tightness regularly. Quick change mag block concept doesn't matter, it's not like we're switching between 223 and 9mm within the same match.
  19. Is this legal for rimfire iron sight division of steel challenge? http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2018/02/jeremy-s/arsenal-rs-1-revolver-knife-shot-show-2018/ And it's only $2,500.
  20. and it costs $600 !!! $650 with QD mount.
  21. Rudy @ Macon Armory has done some testing with the Guard. I've spoken to him about your problem and he'd like to see pictures of the rounds that had problems. Send the pictures to: rudyk@maconarmory.com
  22. Thank you kind sir. Had jams on 2 of 6 stages. Maybe someday I'll get through an entire match with no hardware problems.
  23. We already had the CMMG guard with "Radial Delayed Blowback" bolt, and now we have the AlphaWolf PCC with "rotating, locking bolt operating system, side charging, short stroke gas piston system". I didn't go to Show Show this year ... did any of our regular Enos PCC posters get to play with the AlphaWolf PCC at this year's Shot Show? Or shoot it on range day? https://www.lonewolfdist.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=922220 http://www.gunsholstersandgear.com/2017/12/08/alphawolf-pistol-caliber-carbine/
  24. I use the Springfield XD double stack 45 ACP mag pouches that I had laying around.
