  1. I got one of these new holsters too, but I paid for it and I do like the height adjuster knob feature (won't lose it, again). Mines did not come with the instruction sheet but Ernie Hill is sending me one in the mail. I watched the video on how to adjust it which helps a lot. I think I'll like it because of the adjustments to keep the gun solid in the holster without it rattling around like the gen 1 version.
  2. You would have to change the way you "slam" the mag home. What is happening is when inserting the mag and "slamming" it home you are probably directing that force forward (towards the muzzle) and by doing this, inertia takes over as the frame will move forward slightly and due to the heavy weight of the slide, the slide will not move. This causes the spring loaded slide stop lever to retract and the slide goes forward. Change the direction of force you are applying to the mag and you can stop that from happening. If you had put in a lighter recoil spring, the gun will be more susceptible to doing this "auto forwarding".
  3. Nah, I've used some powders that varied enough between lots to be inconsistent in velocities with the same charge.
  4. I started using the Uniquetek "baffle" for my powder measures and it seems to keep the powder throws consistent to the level of the baffle. I have mixed powders from the same lot and not experienced any variation in velocity. Don't know how you will keep a powder measure 3/4 full without adding powder. If I could do that then I'm set for life without having to buy anymore powder .
  5. Looks like February 28-March 01, 2015
  6. I would rather shoot in the afternoons where it is probably warmer. Don't really care to shoot when it's cold (I live in a warm area). Best compromise is to alternate like they do now.
  7. I tried an M&P with a trigger Gene worked on and I was very impressed and my gun has the drop in Apex parts. Then I shot my friends CZ Shadow and want one of those now.
  8. I shoot 38 Super Comp in my open guns and load to 1.225-1.230 using a Zero 121 grain jhp. If I use round nose bullets I load it 1.230-1.235. Part of the reasons for this length was thru some discussion with a knowledgeable mag tuner and the limitations of the mags (front to back measurement). I was loading to 1.250 until some rounds started jamming in the mag tube. BE did some work on finding the ideal overall loaded length (he was using .40) and posted it in these forums. Basically it was adjusting the overall length for the bullet to hit the feed ramp somewhere in the middle to upper area.
  9. I watched my videos and saw how slow I was to move to the next positions and setting up. Gotta find me a coach to teach me show me how to move fast.
  10. I enjoyed the match and how it the stages were arranged in groups. It seemed easier to plan your shooting strategy since you could see targets thru the walls on most of the stages. With the different divisions shooting the same stages looks like the level of difficulty was defaulted to the iron sighted divisions. Ken Nelson and the crew are great and if I get any chance to shoot a major match there again, I'll be sure to sign up.
  11. You're already loading 9major so I would stick with that. I shoot 38SC and it's not easy or cheap to find brass. Reason I keep shooting 38SC is I am able to recover most of my brass at club matches and I don't want the expense of converting my open guns to 9mm.
  12. Oh yeah, what rishii said, was too tired and forgot what year it is now.
  13. Maybe because the US $ is not worth has much??? idk I haven't seen that here...yet.
  14. Yeah... She beat me at nationals, lol.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk She didn't beat me but another junior girl did...lol
  15. 2014 2015 is on Maui and as far as I know, no dates yet, maybe end of Feb to March....? 2015 2016 is scheduled for Oahu. Good to see you in Utah.
  16. Are there other female shooters competing that she knows? Maybe they can help her because I believe they can help her more than a bunch of guys can (just saying). Her first experience will be the deciding factor if she continues competing or not.
  17. What are you loading to now (minor; +P; +P+...)? Look in a reloading book for the powder you are using and work your way up and keep an eye out for signs of excess pressure. If you are not needing to load to major PF, then no need to wear out your gun faster.
  18. If you have the serial number you may be able to contact Bedell and get the original build date and work done and parts used. Some parts may have been replaced by the owner(s). If it is small parts, no problem but if major components were changed (barrel, fire control parts) then closer examination is needed by an experienced eye. Check how tight or loosely the slide fits to the frame. Look for cracks in the slide, frame and grip. Feel if the barrel is bulged. Feel how smoothly the slide moves. Make note of anything that does not look right and use that to negotiate a better price. The listed price does not seem too high but depends on the condition. Good luck.
  19. Go with open if the grip size is not a problem. Set it up for 9mm then you can shoot minor (factory ammo) or major. Easier to shoot using a dot.
  20. I just met Ernie Hill at the Nationals and he has a table set up. Got to see the holster in person. It is bigger than they original and felt heavy for a plastic holster. Looks like it's built to hold up to rough handling. Will have to take a closer look at it tomorrow.
