I really enjoyed this match and the stages were really good at testing everything. The weather cooperated and I was able to shoot in warm weather clothing after all.
Thanks to all the volunteers who made this match possible and fun. Got to shoot with some really good people and saw some friends and made new ones.
Hope to shoot with you guys and girls again.
Now back to shooting ten rounds......
The para sear springs are longer than the typical 1911 sear springs.
I have to use one in my STI to keep the left leg of the spring from falling off of the sear. Gun came with a Colt sear spring but the engagement of the left leg was just catching the corner of the sear.
Do you know the reduction amount? I know it depends on the powder, but in general, would the reduction be a little or a significant amount? Does anybody know the increased in velocity from the .355 to the .356 using the same load?
I had the info a while ago but it's gone. IIRC, it was enough of a difference between making major (~169 using .356 Zero 121) and not making major (~163 using .355 MG 121).
I shoot the Zero 121gr (.356) in my open gun (38SC .355 barrel) and the Winchester 130gr (.356) in my M&P 9 Pro (way more accurate than the factory 124's and 115's).
No problems in either gun, you may have to reduce your powder charge.
I believe you will find more people with "short" thumbs than people with thumbs that reach their second knuckle.
With practice, you will find changing your grip to hit the mag release will not negatively affect your reload time.
My Production rig for the M&P is Ready Tactical holster and pouches, I like it. The Blade Tech is good too.
As for mods, I did the Apex (comp) set-up (sear/USB/springs), except for the trigger, to stay Production legal.
Just what he said. Most matches you have to move your stuff for every stage (except Double Tap where you can shoot several stages before having to move your stuff). You can always get their cart...if you go big.
