  1. Man, I knew you guys from TExas love your guns, but this is a bit much.

A long, long time ago it used to be taught to school children as: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
  3. Any time you change/add something metal to the end of your barrel, you have the potential to change the harmonics of your barrel. This can change your POI, or can make you shots inconsistent.
  4. I used Wolff 140mm mag springs in my Glock and experienced failure to feed. This was with new springs. I switched to ISMI springs and had no more FTF problems. I guess teh moral to the story is that every spring has itsown charactereistics.
  5. I have a Glock 24 and a Glock 35, and shoot Precision 185's out of both. 4.7 grains of WSF shoots very nicely. I load the cartridges to a COAL of 1.135. This is from a stock barrel in both guns. I have ordered an aftermarket barrel with traditional lands and grooves and will see how that shoots.
  6. I've never been accused of being the brightest bulb in teh box, but I usually vote for buying a new blaster and keeping teh old one. Guns are like guitars: the one with the most wins. That's what my t-shirt says, anyway.
  7. Sergeant, thanks for your service, and I pray for you safe return. My son in law has been in the 'Stan since last October and should be rotating home within the next couple of weeks. Our country will be forever grateful for you guys.
  8. Me tto. Try an LED light at a low angle with your head sideways on the floor. You won't see the part, but sometimes can see the shadow.
  9. Do any of you guys remember the "ad" that wwent round on the internet for Home Boy Night Sights? The sights were mounted on the right side of the slide.
  10. When you're up to your ass in alligators, its hard to remember your mission is to drain the swamp. And one of eth best ever from Jimmy Valvano: "Never give up. Never, ever give up."
  11. What Yogi said about baseball applies to USPSA too: this game is 80 percent mental and the other half is physical.
  12. Now that's MOTOWN music. Uncle Ted can work that Byrdland!
  13. Not just with open guns: I was doing a Patrol Rifle Qual with my department, the RO gave the threat command, up comes the Yankee Hill Black Diamond, and the EO Tech was not turned on. I just put the square on the target and got all hits. After that stage I turned on the circel/dot, but the scoring was about the same with or without the dot. What does that tell ya?
  14. What BE said. You eitherdo it, or don't do it, but don't half do it.
  15. If you will check out a lot of the videos, you will see that a large part of the shooters use some combination of the two. Try different combinations until you find the one that for you will let the recoil bring you sights right back on the target. It is easy to say, and takes a lot of practice both dry firing and live firing, to get to the point where you just get to that point without thinking about it.
  16. Man, I found a video on this site with one of the most eveil targets I have seen, a swinging Texas Star!
  17. I had a FO front break and fall out. I did a reload, brought the gun up and not FO. But I found that I could still see the front sight without too much difficulty. I dinidhed the stage, and the guy running the timer was laughing at me. He siad he heard me start cursing about the front sight, and that I would curse between every target, but that it didm't reall slow me down any at all. Maybe I should note that I'm on teh slow side anyway.

    VEVO

Racerba: That was a feeble attempt at humor. I am old enough to remember Devo, the Sex Pistol, the Ramones, Lou Reed, New York Dolls and otehr assorted 70's punk type bands. I even remember the Butthole Surfers and also have a rather large collection of thrash, speed and death metal.

    VEVO

VEVO: Wasn't that a punk/alternative band that did that S&M song, Whip it? Or maybe I'm having another senior moment.
  20. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt (Katrina 2005, Elena 1985).
  21. Just about the time you get yur noggin wrapped around a Texas Star, they'll get a Polish Plate Rack. Oh, the humanity. I think ammunition component manufacturers invented them both.
  22. As a teenager, before USMC bootcamp, we thought country Joe and the Fish's performance was the best. Before tht we couldn't even imagine 500,000 people singing/shouting along: Gimme an F....
  23. Yeah, but You tube seems to be waaaay more entertaining than going to the movies, cheaper, and not so many tweens/teens talking during the movie.
