Me and a buddy made a kydex pancake holster for my 2011 tactical a couple days ago. After everything was said and done I go to insert a mag and notice it takes more effort to insert and seat than usual. I try to drop the mag and it doesn't move. I believe I have somehow managed to squeeze the plastic grip in with the heat of the kydex and the holster press with clamps.
I added 5 layers of painter's tape on the sides of a mag, heating the grip up with a hair dryer through the magwell, inserted the taped mag and let it cool. It seemed to help mags drop free for a couple hours but then, it would return to how it was in the beginning. I guess I should have pressed the kydex with a mag inserted but, alas I didn't.
I've got 2 140mm mags and 4 126mm mags that all dropped free before I made the holster.
Any ideas on how to get it back to normal? I might just be screwed and have to purchase a new grip.
