    Ar Mags

I am in at AR15.com for 10 of the teflon 30's with magpul followers and CS springs, can always use more mags. I have been reading and heard lots of good things about C-Products.
  2. Central Florida Rifle and Pistol Club in Orlando FL http://cfrpc.com/ is having an IPSC pistol match on Saturday the 25th and a 3-gun match on Sunday the 26th. Both these matches are to sponsor the Toys for Tots program and should have a good turnout, the weather is awsome this time of year. http://www.weatherunderground.com/cgi-bin/...ecast?query=mco
  3. Talked with a Glock rep at the Orlando SWAT roundup and he said rumors of the new Glock are just that "internet rumors". They have done some experementing but nothing ready for market any time soon. Of course the SHOT show is in 2 months and that is where it will come out if it does exist.
  4. If you can buy it cheap from someone that doesnt know what its worth in investment value grab it up. Not the best 3gun rifle due to parts availibility, slow mag changes and heavy recoil due to weight of moving parts.
  5. With a proper "heavy" laith and midspan support you could do it without to much chatter. May want to consider shorter also, a comp. on a 24 is a tank.
  6. I like Zero 147's in my production 9mm loads. Try out several before a bulk buy, the 125's are OK and the 115's suck. The 147's just feel great. Heavy is soft, lighter is snappy.
  7. Brownells mag. holder made by Blade Tech, same as the Blade Tech but a couple of bucks cheaper. http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/store/Pro...p;s=49270#49270
  8. +1 Southwest uses a little white and red tag that goes "Inside the gun case" it is just stating the gun is unloaded. No marking is allowed by company policy on the outside of case saying it contains a firearm. TSA has been using color felt tip markers on the airport destination tags lately to show inspection status, and they still throw there little tag in the case when they open it.
  9. Have had great luck with LA Police gear.
  10. Great move. To shoot Open you must reload. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Unless you are flat loaded
  11. Didnt like Longshot, too snappy in my shorty. I use Win. small rifle primers and HS-6, 3N37 is very nice also. Long pin is insurance.
  12. I currenty use and like 8.2 to 8.7gr. HS-6 with a 125gr. Zero JHP @ 1.16" and WSR primers in my Bedell shorty "with blowholes". Watch and chrono each batch of HS-6, as I had to go way up in charge the last couple of lots and I am sure it could go either way? Mixed brass will bite you occasionally if your not carefull with it. Also really like 8.0-8.2gr. 3N37 softer and more gas than HS6, although the blast hits me in the face more than HS-6 due to shorty with popple holes. Watch out for pressure with Silhouette and True Blue in the shorty, Power pistol was just to dirty and inconsistant.
  13. All packed up, ready to fly out in the early morning. Looking forward to good shooting and good food.
  14. Someone should mention that Paule with MSTN builds great competition rifles and supports the sport.
  15. EGW U die--Fixes glockified brass and makes loads feed better, but does make the press clunky and must have press indexing properly. Dillion Powder die--Polish and taper the stem for smooter loading and .002" less case expansion. The harder you grip the bullet the cleaner & more consistant your loads will be. Redding Competition Seating die--Not necessary but makes changing between loads easy. Lee Factory Crimp die--Just to make sure one last time. Hornady One Shot case lube and a gallon freezer bag. Extra primer pickup tubes. A little clamp on light for the press. Lowes $8 Low primer alarm. Knob for the powder measure bolt. Lowes .90c Scale, I like my old beam scale. 223 case and some 3/8 tube to do the primer catch mod.
  16. For that price you can build a lower and put a JP upper on it. http://jprifles.com/ The S&W is built up for the "tactical" god I hate that word, or gun store commando crowd. Not the hot setup for 3 gun. It will work but just not optimized for our game. If you want a tactical type setup there are better routes.
  17. What powders do we run in limited? As fast as we can get away with. IE 320, Tightgroup, Clays ext. In Open we run much slower powders to work the comp. with a slower pressure curve. Think what would happen if you tried to get tightgroup to make major 9??? I just blew another major 9mm case this weekend, 5 total in 2 years, I still believe it was the Glockified once fired????case and not 9mm pressure problems. Loading long its the same as 9x21 or 23. You could make major in 9 using limited loads and fast powders IE Corbon but you would have to use new cases at almost the same cost as super or 9x21-23. The equipment race would be an expensive nightmare.

  19. Borrow a buddies gear----Whip up on the local competition----Then decide what you want.
  20. Chisel is great stuff but remember it will take off paint, skin, and anything else it touches. Brake cleaner, acetone, or fingernail polish remover without the conditioners all work well, MEK is even better but will cause your liver to go south faster.
  21. The dot will move its pure physics. You can tune the movement with loads, springs and grip so its a smooth up and down bounce and not side to side or dipping below point of aim. I have watched open guns on slow motion film to look at movement and they all go up and down some. The difference is the timing, violence and what your eye sees from behind the gun.
  22. The forward edge of the hip is alot further forward than many think.
  23. Typical anytime one piece of equipment is dominating a class there will be internet rumors and some people will whine about it. For now and at least a year the DOH is legal, my bet the rule wont change as it would force a majority to buy new equipment. It seems they would change the magholder rule before the holster rule anyway, as the DOH is not race gear where race magholders are legal?? The DOH can be switched to a different hanger that is even IDPA legal with just 4 screws in about 2 minutes. Comp-Tac does make a nice piece of gear if you want solid, high and secure, and TJ is fast out of the Blackhawk, although he is sponsored by them. No matter the CR speed belt is dominant also, should that be changed??
  24. I want to try 4 to 8 lbs. If it works better than HS-6 or 3N37 I would switch over.
