  1. The barrels are the same, the triggers are the same, the accuracy is the same. The CTR02 is just trick, its the Ferrari of AR15's. The fit and finish is first rate. It also has the ability to mount an ACOG on the rail just a bit lower. I own a JP-15 which is leaps and bounds above most other AR's, but want a CTR02 just because its so sexy and I enjoy owning the best. Its like the difference between a Glock and a Brazos limited gun, they both do the same thing now don't they.
  2. Its your tubes, call Dillon and they will send you the proper ones.
  3. Once you do the primer drop tube mod (see the tips section) its easy to get a wrench in there. The press needs to be mounted to a solid bench not a table. The case feed requires some graphite lube.
  4. The 550 & 650 have LIFETIME warrentys. They are the standard in the industry, most readers of Field & Stream are guys that will not shoot anywhere near the volume as most competitive IPSC or IDPA shooters. The average reader of Front Sight the USPSA magazine will use a Dillon and shoot alot. It is a case of you can buy a Dillon now or wish you would have. Yes they are expensive but they last forever and they allow you to load Lots of ammo and practice which will make you a better shooter.
  5. A CR Speed belt is the fix. I use mine with a normal belt for three gun and have the same problem, when shooting Limited using a CRspeed belt no problem at all.
  6. You will notice less recoil at 170. A faster powder will feel softer and have less muzzle blast, allowing quicker shots.
  7. Fly an airline that has no tag on the outside of the bag.....
  8. Try shooting 1, loading 4 then finishing up. That is a true test.
  9. Sure you can outrun any shotgun into the berm. What counts is your target transitions, I have yet to meet the person that can run .130 splits on poppers, plates or targets with slugs. Take a timer to the range and check yourself. You will find reloads and movement is where the time is gained and lost with a shotgun.
  10. It all depends on the range and load. Here in Florida with close ranges and heavy steel I use 1 1/8oz. loads and an open choke most of the time. Provides the weight to knock over poppers with authority and the spread to allow me to smoke through plates, the slight increase in recoil just adds to rhythm. Out west I used Mod. most of the time.
  11. The rugged gear cart starts life as a baby carriage frame. Of course I am always finding broken baby carriage parts in the cargo bays. Call it sporting gear, any of the "good airlines" will let it go for free.
  12. Tag your hard "locked with a NON TSA lock" pistol case with a tag letting them know it is a violation of airline policy and FAR's to open the hard case without you present. Have your name and cell phone # on the outside of the case, which can be inside a soft side suitcase with a TSA approved lock. TSA regs do not supersede the FAR's or approved airline operating rules, they supplement them. Republic Airlines, FAA and TSA regulations require that the owner of this case MUST be contacted and present before opening. Thank you, Joe Shooter, cell # 666-777-1234 Note any tags identifying the case as a gun go inside the locked case. No one but you may have the key or combo. dont fall for there bit about "we will lock it after inspection", inform them that they would be commiting a felony if they tried.
  13. Gave my check and registration to Hotwings yesterday, hopefully the flights wont be full.
  14. It is sad that I have to hop a plane in Orlando and fly to ALB or ELP then drive to Santa Fe or Las Cruces to get great food. Of course flying for free helps.
  15. JB Weld Fixes race car engines and aircraft parts----dont ask
  16. New to the video production game. I am trying to get my practices and local matches to burn to DVD and be playable in a normal DVD player but every player I try them in that is not a PC with windows will not recognize the format. Some will see a file but not be able to open it, but most dont recognize the DVD at all? Is it an upgrade issue with Windows movie maker, an operator error, or do I just need different software altogether?
  17. I believe you need to hand over that there bigstick as you are not allowed to possess such items as they look way to much like a diamond ring. To save you future loss, I will be more than happy to take it off your hands and wring it out for the next few matches. Then I may even pay you for it, I sure am giving you alot of cash lately Although I will give you full credit for the vast amount of research you did. You can bring that there shotgun thingie also so I can copy it before you sell it. The 40 cal. 140mm SPS limited setup works like a charm and does hold an honest 21 reloadable. No tweaking required. Dirtypool ingenuity at work. Of course giving a pilot credit for making something work is quite painfull.
  18. Yours looks alot better than mine at $10 for the baby jogger at the flee market with nasty rusted wheels and torn up fabric. And $12 for a pair of gun holders from Bass Pro shop. All put together with old wood and some cup holders for the muzzles.
  19. I have changed over to HS-6. Works the comp better in my Bedell shorty with holes than Silhouette does. Softer in the hand with less pressure than sil. and not as much in your face blast & fire as 3N37. I have not seen the cleaning issues some have mentioned with HS-6. It is as clean or cleaner than Silhouette or Power pistol in my gun. 125 Zero JHP @ 1.16" at 8.2gr. with no lens hazing. Running a short gun with ports and spacers takes a little more powder/pressure this may make HS-6 burn clean. Tried to get 115's to major with Silhouette and ran into pressure problems at 165PF. Havnt tried with HS-6 yet, like the feel of 125's. Not to mention HS-6 is cheap, safe and available.

    My New Rifle

Sweet, looks like the perfect MOR rifle in the works.
  21. Would you prefer to race Nascar or formula 1? I had a limited gun built after shooting L10 for a year, then a year later fell into an open gun, now I wont/dont shoot my limited gun unless I am practicing for 3-gun Tac. class. I love the speed and the lower shooting cost 9mm of my open gun. Dont buy the crud about how real men shoot limited or any of that bull. Its the same story as thats tactical and thats not. Or I love the one about I want to shoot what I carry? That only flies if you a cop or in the sandbox.
  22. Small hands and a high grip, I have no choice.
