  1. after more than 15 years reloading 9x19, 40S&W and .223 on my Super 1050 today I had my first blowout. luckily nothing bad happens besides some damaged parts on the press. Inner tube is blown up in the lower section, the little plastic piece on the end is vaporized, the black plastic rod which actuates the low primer alarm shoot out like a rocket and is totally damaged and the delrin piece which holds the case in place is cracked in two pieces, there were around 20 primers left in the tube which all bowed up. the wired thing was that all the blown up primers came out from the lower end and where all over the shell plate. should have done pics of it… No clue what happened, maybe the primer was upside down or some how tilted. it happened during down stroke. I use Federal 100 also since years and never had single issue till today. does anybody know where I can get spare parts, spend already some hours browsing thru the net but didn't found what i need... cheers chris
  2. Hi Guys, I'm also playing around with the idea getting PCC. Right now it boiled down to either QC-10, Angstadt or Rainier. I wonder if there any thoughts, hints, recommendation to one over the others... Cheers Chris
  3. I'm looking for some Mag pouches for my H&K SL8, anybody has a clou where to get them? The only thing I found is Blade tech, are there any alternatives? cheers chris
  4. I did a chrono this summer at the same altitude but at around 20°c and there was just a slide increase in pf
  5. this was on monday at around 8°C indoor, the ammo was the hole day in my trunk at 2°C, so they were quiet cold when I shot them. the altitude was around 600m.
  6. here are the pics of the brass first one is with the original firing pin http://www.brianenos.com/forums/style_imag...e_types/gif.gif and this one is with the extended maclaren pin http://www.brianenos.com/forums/style_imag...e_types/gif.gif both are wit the same load but a very big difference cheers
  7. I had the sameprimer problem with my shorty 9major, a extended firing pin (used the one from Mclaren) and moving from Federal 100 to WSP solved the problem(I stared somewhere in this forum a thread about this isse). I have 3 hole in the barrel but not as big as jostein, only 3mm. I chronoed yesterday 2 loads 1. 7.8 3n38, 124speer,29,5mm, wsp, 8 pound spring, 1306 - 1340 ft/s pf161.1 - 166, very compressed load 2. 7.6 Hodgdon Longshot, 124speer,29,5mm, wsp, 8 pound spring, wsp 1400-1432 ft/s, pf 173-177 this one can be lowered a bit I'll try to post some pic of the fired brass. cheers
  8. 7.6 grain Longshot, 124 grain bullet, WSP PF165-166 8.4 grain 3N38, 124 grain bullet, WSP PF165-167 stope using 3N38 because the case need to be filled to the edge, with the longshot I still have some 3 or 4 millimeters to the case edge. STI shorty (half inch) with 3 3mm ports
  9. Hi Guys, I've a problem with my 2 c-more which mounted on my 40S&W Modified blaster, one is allready broken right above the set screw of the left right adjustment screw, the other one has a crack on the same spot does anybody eypierenced the same and know what todo? Cheers Chris
  10. Got the long pin yesterday. tried it this morning with WSP and Federal 200, both are working now 100%, no malfunctions. only difference Federal 200 are a bit more snapy, gues the root cause for that is the higher intial pressure of the primer. Finaly I'll stay with the WSP because I use them as well as in my Standard and Modified blaster. Thanks for all the inputs Cheers Chris
  11. Yestreday I tried some Primers... Federal 100 -> to soft Magtech Sp -> to soft CCI SR -> to soft Winchester Sp and Federal 200 are working 99%. Guess I'll get the 100% with the extended firing pin, hope it will arrive soon Cheers CHris
  12. I have a STI shorty in 9mm Major and the problem that sometimes it shows some ignition problem. It looks that some parts of the primers blocking the hole. This happened now with Federal 100. the load it self is 7.4grain Longshot, 124 Speer Bullet oal. 29mm Going to try now Federal 200, Winchester SP and Magtech SP. Does somebody out there experienced the same problem? How did you solve it? Cheers Chris
  13. That’s exactly the experience I made, used a Sprinco (which I really love in my 40S&W STI) with a light spring. I noticed a drop in accuracy. So I looked close to what’s going on with gun and found out that slide starts moving backwards when pulling the trigger. Tried a softer trigger spring -> caused other problem and did even not fix the slide moving. Went back to standard glock spring but with a SS guide rod cheers chris
  14. Well, right now I just play in standard (Briley STI Limited Master .40S&W) and modified (SPS Modified .40S&W) but I'm playing with the thought to gamble in the open section as well. The point is that I'm not sure if I really would like it, so the idea is because over hear right now you can get some open blasters in .38Super for a very small amount, mostly PO based guns. the question is if I go for a used one in good condition .38super and maybe if I like to stay in open convert it to 9x19 or go direct with a new in 9x19 build blaster... Hope I'll get to a decision after some more inputs. Cheers Chris
