  1. I have found a gallon freezer bag works best as you can seal it up after spraying and roll the cases around, then dump in the hopper. Being able to seal the bag also allows the mist to dissipate in the bag instead of the carpet.
  2. I know you have a plane ticket in hand. Hotel reserved, car rented, ext. ext.ext.ext.?
  3. Any match where you can run 2 big sticks dry would be a blast for Production. Takers?
  4. One shot makes life easier on your press and arm. It also makes for more consistant ammo.
  5. You could also buy a 40 limited gun and chamber it for 10mm.
  6. A 9mm Limited gun at 190 PF is still not major. Same thing with .357 SIG, 9x21, 9x23, ext. Takes a .40 cal min. at 165+ Shoot 125PF ammo at minor, get your hits and have fun. Shooting super pricey ammo will just restrict your practice and hurt your improvement.
  7. JM2C Unless you are going to Alaska think about 2 leg bears Grew up hunting and hiking in New Mexico and never had a bear problem, although I did have a couple of problems with 2 legged POS. For Black bear a good 240-300gr. 44 mag. will be plenty, I prefer my 5 1/2" Ruger SBH single action. For desert/mountain carry now days I may go the Nugent route of 10mm Glock. Never liked the double action Smith's as they are heavy for the power. A 3 1/2 in barrel with porting will wreck your ears if you ever have to set off a round without plugs or muffs.
  8. ?? Is there a match hotel? Is this the same club the 2005 area 5 championship was at?
  9. Stainless? Not sure why they even sell stainless brushes. Open, Limited and Glocks, I only clean pistol ramp and chambers, and never with a stainless brush.
  10. I missed 2 matches this weekend due to heat.
  11. Are you talking a precision vise for mounting to a Bridgeport or just a bench vise? If its for machining you do need a stout parallel swivel base machine vise. look for a used machine tool outlet that sells used machine shop tools and pick up a nice used one, have seen nice used ones for $300. As for a bench vise you wont need a monster for gunsmithing, but dont buy one from Harbor Freight. Get a decent one.
  12. This is awsome for anyone that shoots precision stuff. We now have the best long range products with a great distribution system.
  13. I had the same problem here in Florida, my gun would get smokin hot after just one mag with 3N37 and in the summer it would not cool off fast enough for a decent practice session. I have switched to HS-6 and had great luck in my Bedell shorty with holes using 125gr JHP's. HS-6 doesn't make quite as much gas as 3N37 but it shoots great, is easy to load major in anything and does not fry your gun.
  14. Check out Brownells and Midway USA. 1911's dont require much in the way of screwdrivers. Revolvers are very specific as to the screw size, you can buy the specialized inserts you need for the individual screws.
  15. If you were back you would have been there yesterday whipping my tail.
  16. HS-6 Easy on the gun, good dot movement, easy to find cheap. Depends on your gun though. Mine is a Bedell shorty with popple holes. Shorty with no holes HS-6, 3N37, N350. With a full length gun Silhouette, True blue, HS-6, N350, 3N37 or a few others depending on how yo like it to feel.
  17. All I have tried from the first run work for me? I may mod them just in case?
  18. +1 on that. Its easy to get one to small as they dont hold near what they are advertized at, also you will end up keeping all sorts of things in there besides your guns for fire and theft prevention. Take a look at fire ratings, also take off the inner door cover while shopping to see the insides and what you are really buying. Figure the cost of moving into your price, its worth paying someone for a decent size safe.
  19. I would like to see a real ruling on this one. The reciever is the same so the same shotgun is used, the barrel and the reciever are the same as original. Changing the tube is just changing the feed device not changing the gun. You can change from 140 to 170mm mags in an open pistol or change from 5 to 8 to 10 round mags in a Sega, so changing the tube length is the same.
  20. Tried them. They shot well at 100 not as good at 3-800. The 178SMK is still the king of accuracy and the 155gr Scenars are my favorites overall.
