  1. I use the safariland bracket in mine that's the drop with their disconnect on that. Much more stable than a teklock
  2. I would just have one made to the boss bracket from a place like listed or a local place that will make them custom
  3. I think It depends on what you want out out of it. If you want to throw some sound etc out the front and make it more pleasant to shoot specifically for the RO and people beside you the dpms linear levang, the KAK clone or the one scott posted which are basically copies of the pig work. If your wanting it to work like a comp and keep that muzzle down then there are other options out there. The Miculek does work very good on an SBR and yes it keeps the RO off your ass because it's stupid loud to the side (not bad behind the gun) but it keeps that gun flat. Another option is the TTO which is a comp but just under A2 flashider size. It's not quite as effective but it works pretty darn good(not like a true competition comp) and is small and light. It is also not as loud as the competition ones but not as flat either
  4. Ya look for someone who can make them and go from there
  5. 16 inch mid length is a nice choice. The issue with a 14.5 is you are stuck with it as configured as you have to pin and weld it. That means same muzzle attachment gas block barrel but etc. Decide to switch your cutting the muzzle divice off and starting over and that's more cost. On barrels for your use I would get decent but not drop the cash on match barrel or anything. You can build a pretty nice gun without dropping a ton of cash these days
  6. Was not a fan of the DT-10 as it's not near as nice as the ASE that it replaced.
  7. we had a guy do that to the club chrono when he got his first open gun. he made himself some nice loads to try out. Being it was his first open gun and had a vertical mount, he forgot to compensate for the offset that close with the Cmore. first round went through the chrono.
  8. ya none of them are close to what they say they hold as far as long guns especially with optics or ARs.
  9. Run a g code for my STI frame 2011 and it's the best I have found for that gun. It's hood has a very easy release and works better for me than the bladetech if safariland would have made an ALS holster for it I would be running that as I have one for my glock and it's my favorite by far
  10. If your not positive you can do a good job send it to somewhere like mod 1 where it will come back grippy and still look good as well. Some self jobs look good others are functional but look like crap and KILL any resale value
  11. Were any mods made to the gun to get the tube to fit

    410

Shot it when I use to compete in skeet pretty heavy as it's just part of the game. The 410 and doubles were what separated the men from the boys and the ones a lot of people ignored even the competition guys as they would rather practice with the 12 and 20ga and feel good about themselves then wonder why they can't perform at matches with it as chipping away with a 12ga is missing with the 410. Those who practiced and got proficient with that and doubles were what was winning
  13. do your SV mags work? The SV mags usually hold better tolerances than the STI mags. Are you trying to tune for reliability or capacity as the dawson kit basically is for reliability than anything and is really not worth the cash
  14. When I shot glocks, the carry gun was the "backup" as parts could just be harvested as need be
  15. I would replace that sight with something that bolts directly to the mount. from the picture it looks like a rail was attached to the Sti mount the a cheap dot thrown on top. that rail and base add alot of space to the dot which is not good
  16. Ya i agree, you loose too much field of view with the higher magnification. the majority of the targets would be shot without the magnification so your not gaining that much going to a higher magnification for the few longer stuff to offset what you loose
  17. I have had the safariland ones for limited and single stack and dumped the limited ones. For single stack they work fine as I rarely shoot it but I actually went with the ghost for limited and open. They are cheap, and have good retention and are smooth the remove the mag. they also have 2 screws that you adjust for the mag length front to back. I use my old glocks as a backup to my open and limited guns if need be so I can swap between the glock and STI mags with just moving the screws in for the glock mags. I have looked at and felt the racer pouches and just felt the ghost was just as smooth a release and they were cheaper
  18. I would just run the standard mag pouches as they are more secure and serve the vast majority of the shooting better than magnets. The solid pouches are also more secure than the magnets even the DAA ones. The magnets really have a very limited role to the point where I don't even wear one on the belt. It's something I made with a 50 pound magnet and a tech lock that I keep in the shooting bag for the 1 maybe 2 stages a year where it's actually a benefit and then the concern isn't to smoke a speed reload as the mag isn't gonna be located perfect when it's on there as it's basically a slap and go and then grab it however it is situated as it's far from common. I don't think I have had to stow a mag personally all year in a magnet or pouch
  19. I am getting the same as you 28+1 and 23+1 with non SNL Dawson base pads and gram guts. That said I have some factory sti mags with the factory spring follower and base pad. That said if I had to go back I would have saved the cash and just done the big stick and used factory mags at 21 rounds and saved the cash. If I need the rounds I have a big stick
  20. Shot them good gun depends on how you like a gun to feel. It's more a bulky beretta feel wise as it's a heavy gun but the weight is all balanced between the hands. It isn't front heavy like the Krieghoff is. My preference is the nose heavy gun
  21. Both. I have my preferred load that I like to use. That said, with the current powder supply issues I have done some experimenting as I think a lot have and now have several combos I can use if need be. I do have a stock of my preferred loads saved for major matches as I know they work and make pf. When I couldn't find the top 2 powders I had to settle and have one I use for locals which isn't as flat but it runs decent but maxes out at like 168-170 pf so I use it for locals as it's just not enough cushion for majors
  22. Have the trubore here and it's not bad but found mine needs 115s and a lot of gas to work well. I also have 2 holes. This said if your having it done you may as well get the barrel and comp seperate as it all has to be fit any way may as well get a better comp and have the ability to chance it
  23. May have to remove a little from too and bottom. Very easy to to. Just put sand paper flat on board and run the trigger across it slowly and evenly. You can always take more off you can't put more back on. Resist the urge to go to town on it or use anything with a motor or a file. Plastic sands very easy.
