Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. its 5.0 40 cal, great gun, shoots unbelievable, just this issue started this weekend.
  2. another note, the gun has less than 100 rounds thru it so its shouldn't be a wear issue. Let me know your thoughts on repair. Blackfin
  3. Can some help me with serious issue, when I close the slide the hammer falls and fires the round in the chamber. Huge safety issue, can you tell me what is happening to I can repair/adjust the problem. Blackfin
  4. Can I get some experienced/educated recommendations as to which is better Open gun, Trubor or Steelmaster? I shoot USPSA/IPSC events but most of my shooting is 3 gun/Multi gun.. My 3 gun rig is a STI Tactical 5.0 in 40. love it but want to jump up to a open gun, preferably 9mm due to reloading cost (brass).. I reload using two blues, a 650 and 1050......I am appreciative of any and all comments regarding this thread...... Thank you in advance, Wayne
  5. Great input, thank you all for the info, I went 5". Look forward to possibly shooting with some of you. With Kind Regards, Wayne
  6. Purchasing a STI tactical, I shoot some 3 gun and tactical multi gun, which is best 4" barrel or 5" barrel. All opinions wanted, Thanks in advance Blackfin
  7. Brownells depicts weights for nearly all of their products they sell, try looking for each specific part on their site. If you have a list of specific parts and MFR maybe we all can help put this together for you. I would say that every part available is owned by someone on this forum. post a list and lets see what everyone has.
  8. I have one as well, it is truly an awesome shooter for such a small barrel. Believe it or not mine shoots 2" group at 20 yds. I love it. The pin in question holds the front part of trigger assy in. Tap it back in, then take a soldering iron and melt four small tabs over the pin (pin hole opening). They only need to be about 1/16 of an inch out from the hole. start the sharpened soldering iron point about a 1/16th form the hole push it towards the hole, this will make a small but every effective locking tab protrude over the hole in four places. Works like a champ, over 1000 rounds later ( hot reloads and factory rounds) the pin has never moved since. It also never needs to come out, even during cleaning so it will last. if you have to remove it just do it again. NOTE< YOU DO NOT HAVE GO BURN IT DEEP, DO IT AS THOUGH YOU WERE RETEXTURING THE GRIP. PRACTICE ON THE BOX LID IT COMES IN.
  9. I would like to ask you all which should I build as my first high end gun. I have been shooting 3 gun for year now with M&P 9 and XDM 9. I am ordering a STI Frame and slide kit from SC and want to know which is the best caliber to build. I reload so ammo is not a decision factor. I will use it for limited for around a year and get a few more matches under my belt prior to go to open class and adding optics to the gun. What should I build. Please chime in with your discussions. Thank you Wayne
  10. Hello to all, I would like some help with the decision. I have been shooting 3 gun for about a year now with both M&P 9 and XDm 9, and have done well. I have ordered an STI frame/slide kit from SC and would like to get your valued opinions on which caliber to build. My plans are to compete in limited for another year or so until I further hone my skillset and get dozen more competitions under my belt prior to going to the open class (purely because I love to shoot optics on handguns). I have reloaded for over 30 years so ammo is not a factor in the decision. WHich do you all suggest I build, 9mm major or 38 super. I will run it in limited class then either machine another slide and set it up with the C more or strip the original and rework it for optics. The entire process will not only be a great time but I will as end up with a first class outfit. Please clime in with your thoughts. Thank you Wayne
  11. Im def as a stump, thats my point if I hear it, its really bad. I love your logo, yo must be a fellow floridian, where do you shoot? Wayne
  12. Hello to all, I believe I have a problem with my AR. The noise that comes from my buffer tube/spring is unbelievably loud upon firing. I can hear more noise coming from the stock/spring movement than the actual percusion. That sounds crazy or maybe I am sensitive to it but it is incredibly loud. WHat are you all using to soften the noise of the suffer spring moving inside the buffer tube/stock. I am using a fixed A2 stock with stock spring, spring tube and buffer. Is there something that I can add inside of or outside of the buffer tube to quieten it down? Are you all using a particular brand of tube, spring or buffer? Is there a treatment to the stock? Thank you Wayne
  13. I concur with J. Schmitt and spd522, I believe my best option which turns out to be the least expensive is to run my dick gun as well. Mine is just like yours J.S., I "think" that is would like even more a little shorter than the 26:.I may even take the barrel back to the first rib stanchion and have it re-tubed at seminole gun works. t the very least I'll end up with a smokin' quail gun it it does not perform as expected. Then at some point get a back up M2. From reading 100's of posts the M2 is liked better than the M4. As well as I may be over planning, get back to the basics of having fun and shooting the hell out of the stages. Thats truly what its about. Thanks for the vetting guys. Wayne
  14. Here is another question I would like to get some advise on. WHich do you all prefer, straight conventional stock vs pistol grip. I have no experience with pistol grip shotguns, I hsot one yesterday and it "seemed" to be more difficult to reload, but I have experience with one. Is the pistol grip more effective in control, enhanced movement and do you jsut increase reloading speed with practice? Of course yes, on the practice but is the pistol grip measurably more effective? Wayne
