  1. KC never really had the success with the glock that he had with his 2011. I will say the plastic guns can be shot and yes you may beat some 2011 shooters but that dosent make them a better platform. Have both and the 2011 is a better shooter
  2. I have had good luck with slip 2000 across a big temp range
  3. New shooter with a flash hider inwould guess 16 inch barrel. I do run a stubby vfg or a hand stop which I used basically the same way on my SBRs for that very reason
  4. The retention holster is the way to go for 3 gun. Your not the first one to do that by any means. And of peoples kydex holsters hold it tight enough and rentention is not needed and is slower than kydex friction fit till it pops out of the holster. Been running a retention holster here since before they were cool
  5. I would save on the flip sights for a 3 gun build. Buis really arnt needed on a competition gun. The trigger in it now can actually be pretty darn good without spending much else. Add JP springs, a trigger adjuster grip screw to remove pretravel and bob the hammer like a JP speed hammer. Makes for a short light crisp trigger
  6. I'll stick to the std one and use a paper clip or even a staple to remove. Just not worth it to me as it's not that inconvenient to use a paper clip
  7. Mag too long for the grip? That was my issue on not fitting and having to be ripped out of the gun. Ended up having to put it in a vice and crank it to get it right which has to be done carefully as to not rack the mag. I did it because at that point I had nothing to loose as it was that it have a mag that was useless
  8. Reopen of an old thread but a substitute I found was an AR15 trigger pin. Basically cut it off where the groves are and use Each of the outer sides so 2 per AR pin. On mine it fit VERY tight needing a punch to install and remove. The length is perfect if cut in the grove and it's pretty much flush with the grip on both ends. Nice to have in a pinch as they are all over. I put one in shot it some no issue and it's just staying in there now and am not even gonna buy a replacement
  9. I liked Steve's idea of get your draw order at a stage or even do it like last year hit the random and print the list for all to see and post it. Then you have an idea where your at and can kinda get an idea where to look when you walk through. What range your gonna be in or just choose to leave if your near the end and would prefer to head for the house over wait for what's gonna be left.
  10. Ya I wouldn't have an issue with someone doing it and wouldn't give a DQ for it. It's a safety issue for some who may not be able to just spring right up
  11. The proprietary parts are a pretty big turnoff for me at least. I like my stuff to be interchangeable with common parts
  12. I have had one I took apart for someone who chose to use red on everything. Barrel nut, buffer tube everywhere. The alignment wasn't right on the barrel nut and he couldn't budge it. The stock he tore the back apart on a rifle tube trying. To budge it and it didn't move. A torch drilled hole through the tube and a steel dowel rod eventually removed the buffer tube. A lot of time with a torch and the barrel but eventually moved. The torque required really isn't that much. I don't even use a torque wrench anore as I know what's good on it as the minimum is actually pretty low.
  13. I have had a 20 inch turned down behind the gasblock from hbar to government profile. Dropped a ton of weignt. My handguard is the Keymod Midwest 15 inch so not much weight there.
  14. Sounded good till the 24 inch barrel part.
  15. It has to stay on for the match but you should know what they stage has going on before you start especially at a large match. Local it's walk and look to see if needed if so add. If not leave in the bag
  16. The only time they are really beneficial is if the stage is one where you start with the mags on a table etc and you throw it on the magnet and go over stuffing it in a pouch. At least around here it's something that's so uncommon I don't even wear one on the belt. It stays in the bag in case it's needed for the match
  17. You can clean a glock barrel on the slide from the rear with the comp still on.
  18. It's up to the match director. They only have to fit the division so if your open gun breaks a limited gun would be useable as a backup gun if the RM approves. I haven't seen one yet that wouldn't approve one for a broken gun as long as it fits the division
  19. Cheap uncle mikes kydex would work well
  20. As for the safety in a barrel benelli chick is a glock shooter any less likely to set one off picking up their glock than a 1911 shooter. I'm one that would push to have a functional grip safety count on a 1911/2011 as functional safety since it does on an Xd and on a glock there really is no safety other than a trigger safety which if pulled goes off (it's also not unheard of for that to not even work when pretravel is removed by a DIY smith
  21. I would check it on a postal scale and don't cut it super close.
  22. The skb cases work just fine for going to the range.
  23. Save your money. The factory case is crap. Look for an americase for it
