  1. M1A4ME makes a lot of sense. OP, try the pencil test to see how far it is propelled by the striker. Would bet it is not very far compared to other pistols, as described above. Closing the loop a bit delays sear release of striker, giving the striker block more time to rise out of the way.
  2. Tips and info are par for this website, one reason why I check it often! Hat off to BE for making it happen. Mark
  3. Same price as 124gr round nose, JE10 will get 10% off. Mark
  4. Just spoke with proprietor of DG bullets, said that while website has not been updated the new design is available for purchase, same price as 124 round nose. Just need to request it in the "notes" section. Same for alternate sizing. May be a while before site is updated to reflect its avaialability. Mark
  5. WRT DG bullets, how do you select bullet diameter? Does not seem like I am given an option on bullet diameter, tried calling, got voice mail and no response... Thanks in advance, Mark
  6. Even the "gunsmith fit" barrel is easy to fit. Only two areas need filing/stoning, the barrel hood length, so barrel drops into upside down slide and the pad under the barrel, prolonging duration of lockup as MM said above. If the semi fit drops in then maybe its undersized in some dimension for that particular gun. I would recommend the GS fit barrel, as you don't need to be a gunsmith to fit it and you will get max accuracy benefit. Mark
  7. I run a M&P compact 1.0 and also need to slightly rotate the gun in my hand to be able to push up on the slide lock, nature of the low profile of the slide lock. Don't own one, but looking at photos/videos it looks like the plastic fence just beneath the slide lock might interfere with pushing up on it. Might consider trimming it so it doesnt stick out from the frame. Mark
  8. Which case gauge are you using? If it's the EGW, read the thread and drill the chambers deeper. Ultimately comes down to barrel plunk test and feeding reliability anyway. Mark
  9. Hard to see but are those flutes? May be intentional to aid case extraction. Makes sense to ask Criterion if it bothers you. Mark
  10. Did what ZW said above, drilled maybe 3/16" deeper than where the drill stops when simply dropped in and .357 coated bullets no longer cause the loaded rounds to stick up and even better, drop out easily rather than stick in the gauge. Mark
  11. I looked and did not see it either, so ASSumed it did not exist, sorry. Mark
  12. Agree, which is why it's not produced Did you mean to say the intermediate length gas system in the 16 offers no benefits over the mid length gas system? Mark
  13. Yup, drilled a bit further and all the cases that sat proud are flush. So now the COL function of the case gauge is gone, but should not be a big deal as the barrel is still the final gauge when setting bullet seating depth/COL. Outstanding tip, thanks as well. Mark
  14. https://taccom3g.com/product/223-three-stage-recoil-system/ Looks like a spring is in the buffer, so it softens the blow of bolt carrier at end of rear travel, not obvious how its reduces muzzle dip as bolt locks into barrel extension. Don't see where there is room for hydraulic fluid... Mark
  15. So any good deals on the Gen2 E 1-6? Mark
  16. much easier to take out trigger bar, remove some material from bottom end of candy cane "slope" so candy cane can be closed further than it currently is. Same result as removing material from sear, namely delaying contact with sear until striker safety block is lifted more, hopefully. Mark
  17. I think you mean closing the opening? Point being if the striker is released too early by the sear, which occurs when the candy cane "slope" hits the sear, the trigger bar section that lifts the striker safety plunger has not lifted the plunger sufficiently to clear the striker. As the trigger bar moves further back during the trigger pull the plunger is lifter more, eliminating potential interference with the striker, which is likely the reason for light strikes. Mark
  18. https://www.cabelas.com/browse.cmd?categoryId=108093780&CQ_search=219941+and+241128+and+241129+and+219940+and+241351&CQ_zstype=REG Looks to me like rebate is an additional savings. Mark
  19. https://store.apextactical.com/WebDirect/Products/Details/192597 Seems Apex now has 2.0 specific kits, so no need for work arounds such as M&P45 substitutions.
  20. Which trigger are you describing? I know its not the Timney, but is it the AR Gold or the JP drop in? Thanks, Mark
  21. What is OAL? You don't want to over crimp, but are you sure there is no flare left from belling/expanding mouth of case? Mark
  22. Found the Excursion tr13 on sale @ shoemall.com for around $50 shipping included. $60, 30% off code provided by vendor, plus state tax.
