jasmap
Going by bullet purchases last year I was in the middle part of the 20,000-50,000 bracket.
SA Friday
Due to my move and not having a regular practice area, I have shot a lot less this year. I went through only about 10,000 rounds. I shot much more last year.
Flatland Shooter
With no place for live fire practice, 99% of my shooting was at matches. The other 1% was a combination of trying to miss the chronograph and sighting in my gun so that I do a`better job of missing the chronograph. ChuckS
Same problem with practice here. There are places to practice but really no way to get there during the week. That said the 2007 total was only 8,986 Later, Chuck
mlmiller1
Not nearly enough. Barely topped 6k. Most of that was in matches. The previous years were much better but I guess everything cycles. I'm definitely feeling cranked up for some serious practice time this year. I need it! As soon as I finish opening the new range, starting the new club, keeping busy at my regular job, doing construction on my days off from the regular job, & remembering to kiss the wife now & then. Whew, no wonder I didn't get much practice last year! This year is going to be better! MLM

DMS42
Bad year for me--less than 10,000. But I didn't count .22 rimfire. And I didn't count any .45 that I shot in bullseye practice. If I counted them I'd be over 25,000. Crap, now that I'm really thinking, I didn't count the shotgun and rifle ammo either. Can I have a re-vote? dcarter
I put myself down for 6-10 k. It may have been more if you count all the "Mikes" and No shoots.
boz1911
13K last year, but I'm tired of keeping track. Just going to use component purchases as a guide from now on. Edited January 28, 2008 by boz1911
MichiganShootist
I "only" managed a little over 8K rounds last year but since I shot my 625 the entire year.... I think that is a lot of shooting. Hell that means I did something like 1,500 reloads
HSMITH
Less than 10K, more than 6K. I shot less than 1000 rounds outside of rounds fired IN a match, and most of those were sight in and chrono. I need to practice.....
maineshootah
Just over 17K in combined major 9, minor 9, .45 and .40 shooting USPSA, IDPA. If we are bringing in long guns, then add another 6K for .223 and shotgun

After posting, I did a rough estimate of that too for last year. Ammo + match fees + gas, not to mention incidentals. Ouch. Nearly half of my first starting salary. But that's a good thing. kevin c
Lessee: How many active shooters are there in USPSA? 15 or 20 thousand, perhaps? All rounds shot per year, maybe and average of 15K, perhaps a bit more? Whats that, oh mebbe a half BILLION rounds down range...
wide45
Good to see so many responding to the poll. Over a million rounds accounted for so far. I believe the average USPSA member is in C class, and shoots less than 10,000 rounds per year. We have a bunch on this forum who are definitely not average. I know it really got me to wondering how many rounds I fired for the year. I have always kept track of the number of rounds for each pistol I have ever shot and if I had a malfunction with any particular pistol and what it was, but never thought to count the total number of rounds for the year. Well done wide45.

dajarrel
I shot a little less than 10K this year because I was shooting Revolver. In 2008, I'm back on the bottom feeder and will shoot around 15K. It cost more in components to be able to pull the trigger on 18-20 rounds at a time without a reload. I probably waste a lot of ammo because I throw more at the target than when I shoot revolver. But, it sure is fun dj
